A tribute has to be first understood before giving it. When a person of stature is no longer with us, it becomes important that the person who speaks does it calmly and not display personal emotions irrespective of how dear the departed be. The emotions do away with the tribute in the true sense where the noble spirit's contribution gets diluted to bypassed and what the departed stood for is just not highlighted. That is why the speaker should not be a grieving human but a soul who understands life and death. When this happens, it becomes a tribute, since people who have never met the departed would get to know him. Those who knew him but not very closely would get to see the goodness and greatness that he represented. Those that miss him sorely would take heart and try to emulate him and maybe improve their own lives. the ine who spoke at the funeral represented this precisely.🙏
