It was released as a single in some countries, following "Brilliant Disguise" and the title track, but was not released as a single in the United States. It reached as high as #3 on the Swiss charts, and also reached the Top 20 in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Austria.

Tougher than the Rest is really one of Springsteens very best. It wasn't much of a test for Geof to play on even a rainy day. Its sound is truly unique. Yes his guitar style is one we always seek.

Tougher than the rest is played and Geof is one of the best! His musical sound is one of the greatest around and o love to hear him play most any day. Yes the twang of his guitar has made him a unique star one of a kind with a musical mind. Thx. Geof. I play everyday .

I just sold my Telecaster as it was too heavy for me...I just stay with Strat for now..I play this and am now learning keyboard at 74 yrs..keep going Geoff...inspirational as ever...stay healthy and young at heart..music binds us all together....

I've just dedicated this to all health care workers / NHS front line staff who've had their lives cut short for whatever reason by COVID-19. They're all loved and will all be missed - gone but never forgotten. A beautiful number and should be made the NHS anthem to remind us all of colleagues past and present. R.I.P. and sincere condollences go to all families and friends of those we've lost.

@@geoffers47 Thank you but I really care about my nurse friends and former colleagues, COVID-19 is a signifacnt worry and I think I'd rather go down fighting and protecting my friends / colleagues. Many of my friends / colleagues are married with children - I'm not married but love my partner Angelika and her son Kirill to bits. They're Ukrainian and live in Kremenchuck which isn't ideal but we make it work. I've been to Kremenchuck 9 times so far and I love it - it's not everyones "cup of tea" but with what I know about Ukrainian people they will love you. Personnaly, I think you're better than Hank Marvin. Take care, Tim.

Another new favorite of mine!! Folks applaud your talent, techniques, choice of guitars, "the volume pedal". And justly so!! I'm beginning to see you in the context of "NATURE VERSUS NURTURE". Some people are born with musical talent--and I know this is part of your inheritance. But the 'nurturing' you did yourself. A strong family foundation plus the curves life threw you shaped you to go down the path you are now on. You get better and better--exhibit more and more feeling--with every new song you upload. There is confidence and calm in your appearance. You seem to be directly looking at people when you perform. Your family and friends are fortunate to be included in your life. And you in theirs. I see you as a truly good person. [And they're in short supply these days :-)]. I just had to say this--and thank you for the impact you've had on my life. You dispense your own brand of healing powers.

I'm an unassuming kind of guy, and not used to the attention that i now receive. There was a point when i decided that replying to comments, was too time consuming, and taking over my life. But old habits are hard to break! Lol.
People tell me, that they are playing my music at weddings, funerals and the like, and i feel it deserves recognition.
Someone once told me that they had heard my music on a phone hold, for a Texas lumber company! Unbelievable!
It would appear that if you become "popular" then copyright holders come out of the woodwork, and try and claim revenue. I have two copyright "strikes" at the moment, one more and It's goodbye Geoff. Apart from the negative side
(i still get abuse from around the world) it is still very rewarding, and i often think, are they really talking about me?
So It's onwards and upwards, while i still have the inclination! Thanks as always for your appreciation Yvonne.
