Had Steve Townsend of Townsend Handcrafted Whips over to film some whip maintainence. We hope this video is helpful. God bless, -Blake Bruning and -Steve Townsend
Hi Blake: I need to condition my bullwhip...and I have several leather conditioners for my holsters, boots and other leather goods...and don't really want to buy another product...of course I will if I have too...lol I was wondering if you've ever used Bickmore "Bick 4" leather conditioner on a whip? Is there any reason I shouldn't use it on a Roo bullwhip? Also...what makes your conditioner superior to the others? I really want to do what's best for my whip...so please let me know if I NEED to buy your product that I've heard so much about. Thank you.
I personally would stay away from petroleum based conditioners. Zombie ple swear by the cards which has a petroleum base and it works well enough though. I prefer also in weather cream that is actually a lot more like hand lotion.
Lol, the cat almost got hit with the whip! Great vid Blake and Steve!
That cat always hang out and play chase with a whip on the ground. She never got hit when we cracked. She was a cool cat.
Good information. Nice to see a whip that has been used to entertain people.
Great video guys. Great info, and great job Steve!
Such a gorgeous whip!
Interesting! I love that stunt show and always appreciated the whip action! I also kind of wish I could buy one of the stun show used whips!
Couldn't understand a word with the wind. Gotta get a lavalier mic to record your audio.

Any leather conditioner will work. I prefer mine. Have to use it.
Is petroleum jelly good for a bullwhip?

Did you film this in a wind tunnel test set?
Unfortunately...
