Elvenpath is the very first track on Nightwish's debut studio album "Angels Fall First" from 1997. It's an important piece of history, and it's so cool that they still find room for this awesome song in their live set. Thanks for a nice reaction!
I've commented on it many times now. I read an interview by Metall Hammer with Troy. Since Floor the band has been totally balanced. and Floor is an absolute powerhouse. She can do anything on stage, says Troy. For me, not only floor can do everything, the band can do everything on stage too. Greetings from Germany
Wow, great reaction!! Wife and I agree we need to bookmark this reaction and refer back to it whenever we are down or having a bad day. Just watching your facial reaction and all the joy you expressed is uplifting for us. Also helps that this is one of our favorite performances. Ryan, you never fail us with your reactions. Stay safe and continue to enjoy your Nightwish ride. We're right there with you.
Hey Ryan. Thanks so much for including the Top 2000 message and getting it done so quickly! 🤍 Awesome!!! I enjoyed your reaction too, as always. There are still plenty of songs for you to discover, so the journey can continue for a long time 😄
Yes Ryan you are back for real with NW and fantastic how you try to get NW high in our top2000, i am voting every year, thanks dear friend for just the way you react on my fav band😀
Why the hell is RUclips only notifying me about this reaction now, one week after you posted it.😡. There's nothing more satisfying than watching you react to Nightwish with the same enjoyment that I've got out of listening to them for about the last 20 odd years. Keep up the great work. P.S. One more Nightwish fan heading over to your discord. 🤘👍
When you drop a Bill Murray reference so slick that no one catches it. 😉 Appreciate the reaction, this is one of the few I haven't heard yet. Love that you pointed out Troy becoming a rock star playing folk music woodwinds.
This song also reminds you Nightwish had 3 fantastic guitarists, all very talented with different abiltities and the abiltiy to create an amazing sound together. Troy was playing an irish Low whistle as well as the uillean pipes. I know what you mean the drums pounding an incessant powerful beat. 🤘🤘🤘
Oh... That little gem... Just thinking about it gives me the chills! Ryan, if you're into some smokey jazz vibes, that's the one! Nightwish with a jazz vibe.
Hey, that's the Dutch annual top 2000 of all time! Def gonna vote. Tnx for the link. Bohemian Rapsody was nummer 1 for as long as I can remember. Last year it was Rollercoaster from Danny Vera though. I know it's silly, but it pissed me off. Bohemian Rapsody is supposed to be number 1 FOREVER!! Rollercoaster is a nice song, but come on.... Bohemian Rapsody is epic!
Hey brother! For some reason none of your vids are showing up on my feed... Better late than never! Thanks for the reaction and push for the Nightwish "Get out the Vote". I know you had a hand in getting Floor and Henck up to #75!! And love this pairing... Can you imagine the epic talent? Floor had a nasty head cold and was considering delaying the performance... My opinion about Tuomas' creativity... There's 'before' and 'after'. 'Before' he was painting his work on a flat canvas. 'After' he's able to create on a 3D holographic medium... He was constrained by a 'flat Earth'.. Floor gives him the freedom to explore the Galaxy without limits. I think the collaboration he and Floor demonstrated on SHOEMAKER gives us a glimpse of the future....and I'm here for it. Thanks...look forward to hearing from you soon.
Tuomas does what he does with the co-operation with people he trust and feel comfortable. That is just my feeling. Now there's gonna be something happening IF Marko decides to REALLY stay out of NW (which we all are afraid of ...), they need to figure out how to move on (my opinion as M had such a big role). There is a great bassist in place and I have heard him sing. Dunno what NW plans are for the future. Also Troy can sing 🤗 Anyway, this one is a great song 👍We will see what happens in the future of NW regarding singing second vocals. Anyway, enjoy the music, greetings from Finnish Lapland, stay safe and healthy 👍👍
I'm a little jealous of the AUDIENCE. Jesus, NIGHTWISH 🔥🤘 always makes something special out of it. The IMAGES in the background is AMAZING. 🔝👍 Great, great response 💙 Thank You so much Love from the Netherlands ❤️ 🤍 💙 🇳🇱 🙋🏼♀️
Yeah, Nightwish is like that girl you dated for awhile, and then got sidetracked by another hussy. Every once in a while you see her at the mall, and kick yourself for straying. Nightwish isn't going anywhere. It's kind of up to you. And yeah, Tuomas is blessed with talent. I am always amazed how band members seem to be magnetically pulled together to form perfection.
The latest Marko performances, if you want to check them out: Waltari feat. Marko Hietala "Below Zero" 2021. It is a remake of an old Waltari song. Mika Jaakkola feat. Marko Hietala "Soita" (soita = play!) Now there is a video for the song, only a couple of days old. The song was released 3 months ago on Mika's YT- channel without a video. Mika Jaakkola is a guitarist, who suffers from focal dystonia, after decades of playing the guitar. It is a neurological dysfunction, causing spasms. Golfers, for example, can have this same problem as musicians. Mika had to learn to play differently, he plays lap steel now.
Hi Risto. Funny you mention 'Soita'. I actually told Ryan about this song a couple of hours before you did, thought it would be something he'd like. I think it's pretty good. Didn't know about the focal dystonia though. The Waltari song is nice too, have had that on my playlist for a while now.
Thanks Ryan!😄👍your comment:"ou, it's 7 minutes...awesome!". That's so funny😁 before Nightwish; I bet you have thought...7 minutes, no way I'm going to listen...😂 Nightwish is magic ❤ Marko 😍🤘
Empu’s ending solo, his tone and play style here in particular sounds a ton like Donald “Buck Dharma” Roesere’s playing in many of Blue Oyster Cults pieces. If you have never heard him play, well that’s a tragedy. One of the most versatile and melodic “feel” guitarists ever, a true chameleon.
I think you asked for suggestions for your next foray. So I already mentioned 10th man down. Which I love but I'd forgotten Bless the child from 2013:wacken. Fabulous performance.
I did vote for Ghost Love score. Hope it works to get them in the last hour. And yes. These two songs make me shiver all over too. Actually all NW songs do that. Fun fact: Floor was feeling not so good this evening. I don't hear that at all.
Good to see you back with Nightwish....I was getting a bit upset for you being unfaithfull .....but I worried too much and everything is alright now....... LOL
YEAH! Troy is a total Rockstar! Thank you for calling him out, he doesn't get enough credit for his massive contribution to the Nightwish sound! If you're missing Marco (cuz we all are, and we'll be here for whatever he lands on) check out his early band, Tarot. I love the song Tides. Also check out Tarot playing for Heavy Metal on Ice...no, not kidding, it's a real thing! Also his collaboration w Waltari, Below Zero.
Already on your Discord and even had an album suggestion accepted!! Not Nightwish though. Still so much for you to discover when you can squeeze Nightwish in between so much Band Maid Lol. How about something from latest album Human II Nature? Maybe both versions of How's the Heart, album version and acoustic on Planet Rock.
Ryan! Greetings from under a dormant volcano where I suspect a hibernating dragon is being awakened! Nightwish is a typical band from Northern Europe, hard, powerful and monolith, although their history has been more than chaotic! I tend to listen to them in very particular conditions. They would be perfect when taking a break from reading a fantasy story! Comments much appreciated! Best regards, RbertGilles
I like the Bogota version for showing a bit more of what Emppu and Marco are doing for the sounds at the start, Troy forgetting a pipe again (someone leans out and gives it to him), seeing Marco trading the Beast and basses as fast as he can, and Floor for being so damned sick (she even comments on that video about it) they decided not to use that show for the DVD, and yet still being better than 99.99% of the singers out there. She was still not atop he game for this show either, but Bogota was where she really got hammered under.
Marko has some really fantastic solo stuff as well. Check out live performances of “For You” and “Star, Sand, and Shadow.” The former is vocally amazing and the later has one of my all time favorite bass lines.
Nice reaction. Yeah, Nightwish, Band Maid, Nemophila, Lovebites the bands that have me banging, rocking, and smiling. Nice tidbit: Lovebites albums are mixed, mastered at Finnock in Finland, same as Nightwish. Miyako likes Tuomas compositions. Don't know which NW songs you haven't done yet, but Nemophilas new Hypnosis is incredible, brilliant song.
Well done Ryan! As always. Would it be safe to say that in your brief journey reacting to music on your channel, Nightwish ranks in the top 5 for biggest discoveries?
I might be wrong , but this video might be the one .... in this ( I Think ) you see and hear Floor, when she was battling a nasty flu... But Show Must go on , and what an excellent Emppu ending .
