I'm relatively new to listening to music and record collecting, but I haven't bought anything just because Anthony Fantano liked it. But I did decide to listen to "Hot Rats", by Frank Zappa because of Fantano's video about 10/10 albums from the 1960's. I probably would've ran into to it nonetheless because of my liking to Frank Zappa, but Fantano's recommendation was the first to intrigue me. I'll get it on vinyl someday, but only because I genuinely love it.
I'm like 90% through the video so if this record is in the last few minutes I'm gonna laugh but you should totally get the Twin Peaks soundtrack on vinyl, literally one of if not my favorite soundtrack of all time for a TV show besides maybe Succession. Also thank you for getting me into both of those shows. (And Barry)
Have you listened to the Xiu Xiu cover album of the Twin Peaks songs. I blind bought it a couple of months ago just because I was getting big into Twin Peaks, never heard a song by Xiu Xiu,but it’s an incredibly faithful and amazing project. And I don’t mean faithful as in they play the songs well,I mean that as they’re able to capture the horror of the show and the beauty of the original compositions all in one while making it their own thing in a sense. Highly recommend it,made me an instant fan of the band
I’ve stumbled upon The Fellowship back when it came out and it is underrated! Funnily enough, a friend got me that same Kooks’ album on CD in high school. I still have not listened to it as well 😅 I’m currently collecting tapes but great vinyl collection!
Hey dude I follow a lot of record channels and people who do these and I always thought the best ones are when the person can recall the memory and ideas they have from the album and have a little story for it and your vinyl collection tour has been one of the most interesting
Cool to see you branching out. I'm always up for watching record videos. You got a good mixture of different stuff. I dig Kieren Hebden too. I have some Four Tet and Fridge records. I heard that cover of Darkness Darkness on Spotify a little while ago, and yeah it's really good. The original is by thee 60s group The Youngbloods (who also did Everybody Get Together), on their album Elephant Mountain, I have that same Byrds, too. It's their first two albums repackaged as a double. I think I have that Dexter Gordon album too. Besides being an OG jazz great, he played the lead in the movie Round Midnight in 1986 I have some other Mort Garson records but I still need Plantasia. Does your Dylan Greatest Hits have the poster?
great collection! but I think it's a shame that you don't have "romy and michelle's high school reunion" soundtrack, I really hope it's just a matter of time
i also got breakaway by art garfunkel for $2 at a record store mainly because i love waters of march because i heard it in worst person in the world lol
Don't know if you know but William Tyler, who collaborated with Four Tet on Darkness, Darkness, made the score for Kelly Reichardt's First Cow, great soundtrack
istg i never in my life been so dumbfounded with pure coincidence than when in the middle of the video i thought “oh i should go and register my new record on discogs” grab it, and hear you talking joseph shabson, i met the guy in a concert a couple of weeks ago in a black midi concert in montreal, first time listening the guy, at the end of the concert the only record left he had was a the fellowship, he signed it for me.
You like Sweden, rap and alternativ music - then you must lisen the created collective Random baster. Special the artist Cleo and Fricky. My favorite songs are "Torneträsket" form the album Missaoui (the hole album is amazing) and "Kär Pt.2" from Fricktion. I really think you would like them!
@@Prodbyjah464 tyler was far ahead of the curb in its production techniques and songwriting (offensive or not) I would agree that some songs have aged but yonkers, she, analog, nightmare, radicals, and window still sound great
@@luuk8627 not entirely sure what you mean when you say he was ahead of his time with production, I don’t really hear a lot of producers emulating the sound and it isn’t the most groundbreaking thing he’s done. That being said Yonkers she and nightmare are great songs.
Karsten Runquist and Anthony Fantano are switching places
Anthony just came out with a new record video after so long
Thank you for admitting you bought an album because of Anthony Fantano. That’s incredibly brave
We’ve all been there

Its shameful, but I must admit I've gotten into a few artists because of Tony Fantano. He has good opinions usually.
I've discovered so much music from him lmao I can't tell if this is a bit sorry I'm an ancient millennial I don't understand humor that's my bad.
Who knew Karsten was a connoisseur of music as well as film, bravo
BRO JUST WHIPPED OUT A BLACK FRIDAY BLONDE ARE WE DEADASS SERIOUS

A 38 minute long video of twenty one pilots records sure was an interesting choice
the two AJR records sprinkled in were refreshing
I'm like 90% through the video so if this record is in the last few minutes I'm gonna laugh but you should totally get the Twin Peaks soundtrack on vinyl, literally one of if not my favorite soundtrack of all time for a TV show besides maybe Succession. Outstanding Smiths pick. Hatful is one of my faves of theirs. Great to see The XX. Very jealous of yer Blonde copy!

The Band America releases some bangers and I agree Cat Stevens on the Harold and Maude soundtrack is a masterpieces.

Only 7 minutes in and im loving the collection so far

House of Sugar being Alex G’s best album is a HOT ass take (I am a Beach Music enjoyer)
Came here to comment this but as a fellow Alex g fan I can respect the take (God Save The Animals and Rules Enjoyer)
Alex G and the G stands for 🐐🐐🐐
@@tannerfarnsworth3618 Rules is so good you’re clearly a man of good taste 😎

Amazing taste

Slowdive! Beach House! The dream pop is strong in this review.
Souvlaki is great by the way, love that album.
what record player do you use? Im interested in getting into vinyl and want to know what you recommend.
Nice Collection, I collect CD's now, no more vinyl [Too expensive]
Nice collection
Magnificent taste
Gotta say that the "Swedish fiddle music" was a bit of a surprise. I'm a Swedish person and I have no idea what that would sound like.
uknowwhatimsayin is so underrated man. 3 Tearz was in top 5 rap songs that year imo
i also got breakaway by art garfunkel for $2 at a record store mainly because i love waters of march because i heard it in worst person in the world lol
Damn, your mom has great taste!
Any album by Black Midi, Ants From Up There by Black Country New Road, Bright Green Field by Squid, any album by Shame, etc.

Don't know if you know but William Tyler, who collaborated with Four Tet on Darkness, Darkness, made the score for Kelly Reichardt's First Cow, great soundtrack
"some of these are humiliating" me when i have to acknowledge my old twenty one pilots records

For those who don’t know this a reference to the song ‘hacker’ by Death Grips. I’m not being a creepy stalker, don’t worry.
You have motomami! Taste
goblin by tyler is not embarassing man up karsten
It’s pretty embarrassing now considering how much better Tyler’s gotten and how poorly goblin has aged
@@Prodbyjah464 tyler was far ahead of the curb in its production techniques and songwriting (offensive or not) I would agree that some songs have aged but yonkers, she, analog, nightmare, radicals, and window still sound great
