My background is in photojournalism also. It definitely influences portrait work; I've Nikon cameras for decades. They are intuitive for me. And, the sensors in the D850 and Z7, Z7ii are the best on the market for full frame cameras. Only the "medium" format cameras give better image quality. But, some people prefer Canon or Sony. I almost switched to Sony until the D850 came out. I still have a D800. Whatever flips your switch!
