  • The "VEB Nähmaschinenwerk Wittenberge" is a state-owned company in Wittenberge at the time of the GDR. Since 1903 sewing machines are produced there mostly by hand.
The archive material shows the essential changes that have been made within the sewing machine factory in recent years.
The assembly is now rationalized by robot technology, new transport routes and modern quality control. As a result, 20 more sewing machines can be produced per day. For a better working climate, a new canteen area was build, where workers now can spend their breaks in.
