It was awesome to meet you and Glen at NAMM this year! You guys were some of the friendliest people I met this year and im stoked to watch all the videos that come from this!
So great to see that Aristides put in the work with the multiscale Evertune and not keeping it for themselves, but instead choosing to make it available for other brands as well!
Aristides is not American, that's probably why they didn't immediately slap a patent and trademark on it, but rather let others in the industry share this idea 🤣🤣🤣
I thought the story was they asked if they couod do it, and evertune sent them the files needed. Since each saddle.is independent it is not a big deal to machine a multi scale base plate. Evertune is busy with the bass version and is supposed to have their machine shop running at full capacity to keep with the normal demand. Good to see more companies being able to make them. Maybe I will be able to afford one this time.
@@zanzabar4ky7 I'm sure I remember watching something from Aristides where they encouraged other makers to do the same and that they would even share their files if needed. I have personally never played an Evertune but I love learning about all the new developments in modern guitar. As I don't play guitar live yet I prefer something I can change the tuning on quickly like a normal hardtail or 2pt trem. But Evertune really does seem like a gamechanger for touring & regularly recording artists. I'm most interested in Aristides' 8 string trem though. Not many options for that around. Would love their new Jazzmaster shape in that config. A bit too pricey for me currently though, but one day...
@ I got to play a couple at guitar center and music go round. I loved the evertune, but for the 8 string and greater than 27" scale 7 string I don't get the straight scale. Balaguer is still $3k with no other options, but maybe Ormsby will do it for $2k ish
06:27 "Patented Dean Slime" unreal we literally had to get photos of Dime's personal slimes from his guitar vault for Dean to make the first USA slime in 2012. Ironically Elliott had refused to make that model from the USA shop what so ever until that point until Dime's estate asked them to do it for my guitar because it was associated with WASHBURN lol. Revisionist history.
Cort isn't in Europe (so higher labor costs) and Mayones isn't as big as Cort, nor probably as automated (so they spend more hand time on a guitar). So yes, Cort could produce it for $300 but that's kinda missing the point.
I bought a used Dean Evo recently (a single cut). I've never given them much thought but it looked like a bargain. I'm really impressed with it. It feels like they are mostly known for their radically styled guitars and the more conservative models get overlooked.
Hey just want to say the vlogs have been great! (As a side note I’m watching this on hols, in a bar with a couple of gears - that’s relaxing in style! Keep up the good work!
Awesome coverage of NAMM guys 👍👍 - can't help thinking though, that all the guitars the world will ever need have already been made lol. So many new models, so many great makers, and yet my GAS is deflated these days so I just keep picking up my old beasts 😎 Amazing for young, new guitarists to have so much choice but for me, less is all I can handle haha. Back to kerranging away.... 👍
glad to see the mayones booth! 25:20 that guitar is gorgeous. and those cali basses + the MS are so pretty - would love to get my hands on one. i really like that the regular bass has *both* usb-c chargeable and a regular 9V compartment. being able to quickly swap in batteries mid-gig seems like a necessity that other brands doing the rechargeable thing aren't considering.
i was hoping to have a little bit of vid devoted to the Dean EXILE because I am likely to purchase one, but you skipped over the two displayed. I understand that you have to think-on-your-feet while shooting this though, so it's all good. On a side note, it's a real treat to hear you jam a little bit here-and-there too. You should add HPF to your NAMM shows at around 100Hz. It really helps with all the boom and noise. I send the audio to my DAW cutting out the 100Hz and below and it sounds much better
It's amazing how all those guitar companies all use the same Strat, Tele & Les Paul shapes. The Dean acoustic with the effects is the same thing Yamaha is doing with one of their models.
Is there an "Aria Pro II" booth ?? .. I would like to see it if they are here. Their new "RS Custom" in white (or black) are killer ! They reissued their beloved "PE - R80" model (but the "PE - R80" from the early 80's are the best of the best) (I'm a fan of old 70's - 80's Made In Japan "Aria Pro II" stuff from the "Matsumoku" factory. So an underrated brand wich deserve so much love an attention from the guitar players ....)
Absolutely. I love the Matsumoku Aria Pro-II's as well, and I'm lucky to have a few... Their PE shape is brilliant - I have a 1980 PE450, 1982 PE-60, and the 40th Anniversary PE (Korean, and some early Koreans are definitely worthwhile!) and while they're all different, they're all VERY good and versatile 👍😎 Aria produces in China and Japan, afaik. The former does mass produced gear at low prices (and yet still very nice indeed!) and the latter houses the true artisans - custom shop goodness, and quite pricey...
@@claudevieaul1465 Ahah !! Cool ! I have 5 Aria's too !! I learned to play the guitar in the 90's on my dad's Accoustic Aria Pro II 1975 "PW-25" (a clone of a Martin D-18) and his Electric "XR" from the 80's ... but my fav is my 1977 Les Paul Standard "LS-500" (a perfect copy of a 70's Norlin Gibson) But I would love to have some "PE" model too !!
@@jamesosterberg2510 I bought my first Aria in 1987, a brand-new XR series model 😃 And I still have it! I can recommend the Korean PEs, if Japanese are too hard to come by. The 40th Anniversary PE model is astonishing, its pickups are very much reminiscent of those 'Classic Power' ones in the Matsumoku PEs - only a bit brighter and more 'transparent'. Samick made some great guitars for Aria back then!
@@jamesosterberg2510 My favourite is a unique doubleneck: a 1980 ST-1512 (SuperTwin). Mine has serial number 001, being the very first production model after the prototypes were approved! It still has its own hardcase too. By the way, I'm not a collector: every guitar has its use, and while I try to keep them original, if something does fail it'll get replaced with correct parts - which can be tricky to find... That doubleneck (12 string above, 6 below) is an absolute monster. Weighs a ton 🤣 so I'm only ever using it on one or two songs.
The Ragnarok is as affordable as Larry King's latest piece. Nice to see blackboards. I didn't know that Bob Seger was still alive. Las Vegas feels, I guess. And I'm still sober. Namastè.

Gibson, lol. I was there in 2019. They had a thousand guitars on display and a band on stage in the Gibson room. What a difference. Five old Les Paul's.
