Despite Oregon's reputation for endless rain, this is a fairly dry part of the state.
It has a Mediterranean climate, getting about 20 inches (500 mm) of rain per year.
The summers are fairly hot - 90s F (mid-30s C) - and sunny with little or no rain.
Winter is often foggy and it's when we get most of our rain.
Unlike the NW portion of the state, we can expect some winter sunshine every 3 or 4 days.
There is little snow in the valley but winter nights are normally below freezing.
