Once my brother becomes a Millionaire, most likely he'd want to buy a Condo and I'd live somewhere in a ski resort for a while with a part time job and being able to ski with him whenever he goes! Just to look out for safety! He's starting a gambling business!!🤗
Cameras never convey the true sense of how steep something is. Standing at the edge waiting to drop into to that must have terrifying. The screaming afterwards was definitely appropriate 👍
Seriously. Climbing up mountains, I can never get footage that truly shows how steep it is. Watch videos and think it ain't shit til you get there and are like fuccckkk
I don't see why people feel the need to try to bring you down. I've never been on skis in my life and have no idea how difficult what you did was, but your level of enthusiasm and your joy on getting it done is just a nice thing to see. Well done!
It's not bringing anyone down to state that this was a 30 foot blue run that everyone I know including small kids can ski. It would be like getting super stoked over learning how to front flip on a trampoline. It's not rude, it's just honest to state this was a really mild chute the guy is over hyped about. I'm happy he's happy but this run doesn't even come close to comparing to some of the terrain to be found out there. It's okay for people to be subjective. Chill.
@@thisisgettingold bruh your a fricking idiot. That is not a blue run. That is a over 45 degree chute that is probably around 9 ft wide AT MOST. sure its only 30 ft long, but if you hit any side, you're immediately dead. you've obviously never skied in your life if you're going to compare this to learning to flip on a trampoline.
As a skier and a snowboarder I know that pictures and video never do justice to how steep slopes look. Good job and I am happy for you that you were stoked! Keep shredding!
'Let's goooooooo' means 'I'm still alive!'. Near vertical drop and no margin for error. Normally I would not encourage suicide attempts but now I have to say well done!
For the naysayers in the comments: Once Is Enough looks completely different in-person than it does in any video I have ever seen. It's probably the easiest 'extremely serious, if you blow it there are serious consequences' line at Kirkwood - but think for one second about what that statement means. The drop-in is approx. 90-degrees for 10 vertical feet, then 50-60 degrees for a long way, with no possibility of making turns to slow down. When the chute opens up enough to allow room for turning, you are going 50+ mph (I clocked it with my phone's accelerometer). The line is wider than typical in this video due to a bigger snow year, but it's still a dangerous line with serious injury potential if you blow it early (or late - tumbling on the flat going 50+ mph would be bad too). It gets done quite a bit every season, but it also breaks a few bones each season.
Hello George I congratulate you on a great ski run. Thank you for the film. I wish you wonderful skiing experiences. With alpine greetings Raphael Wellig
Anyone who bags on your stoke has no idea what you just did and would poop their blue jeans to even stand there in the first place. You make me proud to be a life long skier. I was a Park City local for over 20 years and have been to Tahoe many times. This makes me wanna come ski Kirkwood next year. I am fired up after stumbling upon this. Will sub your channel just because of this. Ski ya later bro!
yeah, but i’d put it at the bottom of the list in case you actually kick the bucket while you are doing it. Awesome video. Love skiing! Call me a wimp, but that’s not the way i want to go.
Wow! That's what the sport is all about! The thrill of your own!!! Weather a green for a first timer not falling or hitting their first kicker or tree run, or some insane chute this guy dropped. That was impressive. I would of not followed or if I had to definitely not at that speed, props!!!
I've been there, some seasons that drop in is 10-15 feet of straight wall into a bowl. The wind on the top of the mountain is intimidating enough, awesome send!
Hahaha.... I remember this chute at Kirkwood. The first time for me four snowboarders went ahead and butt slid and plowed the chute polished smooth, with all the loose snow dumped out after the chute opens. No soft snow. Only ice. Only option left was the one you took.... line it up, scream, take the drop, know you're going to haul ass, and follow the bends before the rocks take off your face. Once in its steeper, narrower and longer than you want to believe.... and the rocks are larger by 3x and planted in your face. Thanks for sharing the memories.
bro you where really close to hitting that nasty rock at the end of the couloir when you had to turn right, good job of maintenaing your balance and just squeeeeezing in the turn despite the frightening speed you had going on there! good job
Please don't pay attention to any of the negative comments. Anyone who says that was easy is obviously not a skier. That was gnarly as hell and you have every right to be excited after making it through unscathed.
this is crazy, first of all at kirkwood to get to that run you have to take off your skis and go through a 20-30 min hike (at least thats what it felt like for me) but he is also doing this in the most crusty snow possible
What makes Once Is Enough hard is the fact that ski patrol bombs it.. so all the good snow is usually gone...and unless you are one of the first through it. It's a bobsled track... you come hauling ass out of that thing into a huge line of traverses coming off the Wall LOL. That is almost sketchier than the drop.
I stood there last weekend and decided against it. Different day, different conditions, but one way or another that is a committed line and your stoke is full send, well done homie
Wicked as hell. Anytime you drop into a narrow vertical space like that, it's going to be a challenge with serious consequences if you fall. To shoot it like that, badass man!
If you’ve never done or achieved something in life that makes you scream from the core of your being like this man did, you haven’t truly lived at all.
Remember - if it looks steep on camera, the reality is it’s even steeper. Well done, to the skier. 👍 I am an advanced skier, but I value my brittle bones way too much to attempt this, at my age of nearly 55. 🙂
Congrats man!! I think you can get that feeling only if you actually ski, the wind blowing before getting started, you alone in the snow.. You've risked to trigger an avalanche with that yelling (I would have done the same :D ) , but totally worth it! Keep Up ;)
Looked really hard packed, narrow and steep! To me that's terrifying. I tried to go to Kirkland once but they were closed due to wind. Looks like you had a great day!
One day at Kirkwood when it was an amazing powder day I dropped this massive cliff, must have been 50+ feet, in front of the cave where everyone smokes. As soon as I jumped I heard everyone in the cabe gasp. I remember being in the air thinking oh shit why haven’t I landed yet. As soon as I landed I tomahawked like 5 times from the landing and everyone was screaming with excitement “ohhhhhhhhh!!!!” It didn’t hurt at all. I laid there for like 10 minutes laughing in disbelief that I went for it. Was the most epic jump I’ve ever done and no friends were around to witness it, just the strangers in the cave.
I too have dropped cave rock on a deep powder day on my board. I also tomahawked 3 or 4 times on the landing but was totally fine. It was about a 20 foot drop and I don't know what compelled me to go for it other than I had eyed it for years while chilling in the cave. Unfortunately/fortunately there were no witnesses but feel proud to have done it.

They normally make runs look far steeper than they are.

that run looks exactly like the letter J in person the drop in is pretty much 90 degrees
No we can tell, it's a cliff lol
@@veganpotterthevegan You are wrong. I'd been there recently. The drop is vertical at the beginning, which the camera couldn't fully tell.

The other problem is there is a traverse track along the bottom of it.
Even I got excited with that yelling. Way to go dude.

When it looks steep on a gopro, its probably not steep, its probably a freaking wall. Sick video dude!
