Kinda similar I've heard of the game for awhile and noticed the game can be played on my vita and PS4 so thought I might as well and so glad I did still seeing new people joining
Before the sequel, I bought this game bc it was dirt cheap with all the DLCs in it. Suffice to say, it really just did not get attention because people just didn't know about it enough.
It’s amazing how everyone has a whole screen to play on yet the person with the most heavy vehicle always gets hit by a reinforcement or something like that.
I don’t think it would. it’s a linear progression upgrade. you can still have over powered and under powered upgraded weapons. The whole “meta/nerf” drama is more of a “live service game” culture issue. It’s an issue of mainstream shooter fans coming to a game that’s is designed to be ridiculously hard to beat, and the designers bumping up against the friction of what their design intent is, and what these fans want.
@@exceptional9105 I'm glad they fixed the game by getting rid of the nerfs, but I still think that adding an upgrade system could improve the game some more. Plus, if they want to include up to difficulty 15, it could help make weapons feel even more ridiculous lol
@@lilchinesekidchen "mainstream shooter fans coming to a game that’s is designed to be ridiculously hard to beat" no, I played the original, it was a twinstick horde shooter, what I want is for the sequel to also be a horde shooter, not to be treated like the horde.
@@MAKPrime625 i mean this is not just a repeat of the original, if they were trying to repeat the original, they would have made another twin stick isometric shooter. just the fact that it’s 3rd person is going to make it inherently harder because your field of view and ability to read the playfield is going to be limited in comparison, so you need better communication and coordination with your team; you’re not all going to be seeing roughly the same perspective. HD1 may have been designed to be a more traditional horde shooter, but HD2’s design is something else. but one of the big issues HD2 is having in its reception in comparison to HD1 is the “live service game” aspect of HD2 that wasn’t really as prevalent in HD1. Games as a service has transformed games into a constant battle of balancing and rebalancing to meet player expectations. before this “live service” mode of game development; players of PvE games generally just adapted to the rough edges and quirks of a game between the updates. But now the expectation is for designers to be constantly fiddling with the game, which doesn’t give them a lot of time to really observe and reflect on state of play, especially when you have tons of players constantly yelling at them to buff weapons they like without any real game design experience. like how the OP though a linear progression upgrade would fix weapon balance issues when it totally does not. at any rate, it’s in a good place right now, they buffed weapons and made your character feel more like a glass cannon.
