Fun fact if some members of the lost tribe went out on a hunt in groups and it went bad instead of self destructing they would call in warrior to clean up the mess. Anyway keep up the good content dude!!!
Also, the novelization fleshes out the City Hunter character more interestingly, where you learn he is young and reckless to a fault... including a part where the Elder takes note of the City Hunter's tactics and views thm as less than honorable, to the point where he nearly sends Warrior out to either retrieve or kill him before more damage is done or negative attention is drawn to them. This has always been one of the most interesting stories of the series.
I loved Predator 2, which carefully (and often humorously) added to the mythos of the first film without going so crazy it didn't resemble a Predator story anymore. As with Jungle Hunter, Scar in AVP, and Wolf in AVPR, the City Hunter had lots of personality and conveyed it quite well through gestures and body language we could easily read. I can't say the same for either of the 2 most recent films. I guess what I'm trying to say is, a Yautja is more than just a mindless beast - and I believe that is exactly why this fascinates fans. We can get a 'beast' in any number of Hollywood films...but a Predator is something different.
I agree. Predator is a creature with personality, far more analogous with Ray Harryhausen’s creations than the xenomorphs from the Alien films (although the Alien Queen was quite good there).
Honestly I love the whole hunter system that predators in general have. They are honor bound, and respect those they deem worthy as predators regardless of their species, and they would even reward people in certain scenarios if your able to earn their respect.
The Jungle Hunter had a little more of a firm hand when it came to his methods. The City Hunter, you could tell he was younger, less experienced, more reckless, and more focused on his desires than his instincts, but honored the sacred code of killing only those who posed a threat or a challenge.
The director of prey said he didn't know that there was already a canon story to the pistol, and deemed it a mistake adding it on the movie prey, I doubt it'll be seen again in any future films, raphael was a pirate, not random guy u see in prey translating 😩 we all can just look at this as a movie easter egg.
BC thats all it is. It was a reference to Predator 2. I can't seem to find anything confirming he didnt know there was a canon to it. "This is a reference to Predator 2 (1980). The gun at the end of Prey is the same gun a group of Predators gives to Danny Glover’s character at the end of the movie, as a trophy for killing their comrade. Raphael Adolini is a character in a Dark Horse short story, “Predator 1718,” which came out six years after Predator 2. In that story, Adolini is a pirate captain who gave his gun to Greyback, after he joined forces with the alien to kill his crew who betrayed him. But this explanation was written after the movie came out. In the audio commentary for Predator 2, writers Jim and John Thomas said the gun was intended to set up a sequel that was set in the past. Well, now Prey finally gets to be that sequel. In an interview with director Dan Trachtenberg for Uproxx, the director confirmed the gun was a Predator 2 reference and was the reason the movie was set in 1719."
@@Joker-11B-SYLV everything is true except the part that claims the director said it was set up to be a sequel, the director of prey didn't know that story behind that gun with the pirates name on it, he said that in the interview, and u can see proof of this on Acid Glows youtube channel.im not sure where u got that he intentionally did it😂? @@virusworld3730 Well he did the interview for Uproxx and sorry but RUclips videos aren't my primary source of information. I've found NOTHING stating he didn't know. He also states that "either they didnt know the canon story or just left it out entirely" which both are false. I'm pretty well educated and researched in the Yautja lore and canon. There's quite a bit of misinformation in that video but as I said and as HE STATED, those are HIS THEORIES. None of which are backed up by any sources. So yes, he's been corrected on a few things. He also thinks they changed the Yautja gliphs just for this movie. Thats also false. The gliphs are different bc he's a different breed of Yautja. Itd be like the difference in language between the US and England. Very similar with minor key differences. Do better research than just watching Acid Glow. Bc he puts out theory. I'm stating fact. @@Joker-11B-SYLV you need to go back and re read the convo, because u aren't responding to anything I said, the interview u speak of doesn't exist, the prey creators never mentioned that they planned that gun, we are speaking about the prey directors, not the makers of predator 2, ur not paying attention 🤣, the director of prey said that he didn't know that there was already a canon and story behind the pistol, again, we are not talking about what the makers of predator 2 said, and in acids videos u can easily do a Google search to see what he's saying is true. City hunter were a magnificent hunter that has an alternative weapons that includes combi stick , plasma caster and wrist blade, mike harrigan were worthy opponent
In regards to Predator 2, I feel that this film sets us up for a perfect sequel. One that could mirror Predator Concrete Jungle. City Hunter lost a bunch of his gear in his fight with Harrigan. His glaive, his plasma caster, half of his wrist gauntlet, and even his mask. O.W.L.F no doubt picked all of this stuff up. Now imagine a scenario where they reversed engineered this tech, figured out how it all worked and the next thing you know, Yautja's are the ones being hunted and before you know it we got an all out war going on. I believe Dutch Shaeffer's audio journals from Predator Hunting Grounds gave us something similar. But come on! Lets expand on that!
About the Pray and comic thing, i like to think both are canon. The Adolini in the comic when Grayback was younger was a older man with a full head of gray hair, while the Adolini in Pray was a young man. I like to think Pray's Adolini is the son of the Adolini in the comic, they probably made those guns when they went to do jobs far away from eachother and those guns would be like a reminder of eachother, knowing they would probably never see eachother because one choose a life as a pirate and the other to make a dangerous travel to America.
I like the Jungle Hunter Predator, City Hunter Predator, and the Berserker Predator more than I like the Wolf Predator. Wolf's alright but not my favorite. Just because everyone else likes him.
I think every Predator is great. Except the Upradet One from Predator Upgrade. But one thing about Wolf what i realy like is that he wasn't killed by a Human. But it's funny that nearly everybody hates AvP Requiem, but Wolf is one of the most beloved Yautia.
One of my favorite predators from a criminally underrated predator movie.
Same as the first with Arnold.
Agreed
YES
I also like Predator 2. I cannot quite understand, why many state that the sequel is much worse than the first film.
City Hunter is the most ferocious of Predators. He employs a wide arsenal of weapons and he's much more aggressive and bold in his hunting tactics.

In “the predator” they find human dna in predators so they’re definitely human in their way of thinking and also in other physical aspects

My favorite Predator
One of my top three Predators love him. 💀☄️
I always liked this movie, i enjoy the expanded lore.
He was rather aggressive compared to the jungle hunter he’s a beast fr
Beautiful Predabel Predador
Raphael Adolini was NOT a "french fur trapper" he was a pirate, prey universe and the original predator universe are different.
City hunter feral hunter scar and jungle hunter my favorites
How DARE you not mention mr.black aka beserker 😡
Personally Wolf is my favourite although I don't like the film he's in overall, he's by far the best part about it for me.
Exactly mine too

He was young and highly aggressive.
Even for a Predator, City Hunter sure is wild and tough...
I absolutely loove how the city hunters colour pattern and face looks it looks bad ass
Thank you
His head always reminded me of a cockroach tho lol
I too👽💚💎
Something I noticed in the Predator movies, is that for the most part, the main Predator tends to parallel the main character in certain ways.
Yes I love 2 an watching the new predator films made me love it ven more I appreciate them films very much.
I liked the city hunter.
Also kinda funny if you realize the “xenomorph” Alien skull , they use “Hudson “ from the Movie Aliens in Predator 2 also
