Moloch is one of the very few deities from other beliefs that actually deserved its title as a demon in Christian demonology. Child sacrifice itself will always be fundamentally amoral, but doing so via burning alive; IE, the most painful death someone can experience; is a special kind of vile.

Also if you pay attention to the Laws of moses, they were there to differentiate themselves from any other Semitic tribes around them. This is why you have to take these laws with a grain of salt.

If however, you approach the Biblical text as Holy Spirit-breathed Word of God (as orthodox Christians do), you will necessarily come away with the idea that everything presented within it as history is to be understood literally: Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses etc... and if that's the case than the Biblical narrative was the "original metanarrative" creating the foundation from which all other myths and religions fit into and derive from... the Biblical understanding of fallen Powers and Principalities explains why pagan cultures (Babylon, etc) worship these grotesque divine beings... rather than seeing Judaism/Christianity as growing out from their worldview and coming to radically differing conclusions (which is far more a stretch).

@@vngelicath1580 im coming at it the way you are supposed too, through cultural context. It doesn't matter what YOU believe, what matters is where it originated from. As well as understand what is going on during that period of time. I don't view the Biblical script as you do, because there is a lot of it you cannot understand without many other texts. This is why I don't take the Christian perspective of the Old Testament seriously because they tend to ignore the Talmud. If you base your religion on the god of the Jews you better be familiarized with it...

Moloch was a represented as a 20foot human shaped bull headed bronze statue with arms outstretched as if receiving a gift, the statue was entered from the rear lower spine area where a fire was made and lit. After a few hours a raging inferno inside made the bull head eyes glow red and steam came from the nostrils the arms would at this point be glowing red and it was into these hot glowing hands as if cupped in a bowl shape to receive the gift of life that the baby (Usually a boy) was placed alive. Within seconds the babies body melted and flamed until charred (sick i know) as a burnt offering. Child sacrifice was real and went on.

I think that it goes much deeper than that.
The main reason is that far few facts (if any in regards to deities e.g. angels, demons, imps, gods, watchers, jinn etc) have been found (much less deciphered or translated) and so much information is unavailable.
I'm aware there is a lot but I don't think it represents anything like what has been lost, overlooked, destroyed (whether intentional or not), hidden, stolen, unrecognized, misinterpreted, or simply not discovered (yet).
Not to mention fake and fraud that add to the confusion...

I see a lot of atheists and christians arguing death in the comments. Anybody with clairvoyance will tell you that death is a reflection of what is in your heart in tandem with your own personal beliefs. If you believe in Christianity, and have a pure heart free of conflict (that's important b/c conflicts like anger resentment fear carry over into death) you'll be greeted with a heavenly feeling in a pure realm of the Astral, and after Astral death, be greeted with the heaven you envisioned in life.
If you're full of conflict, you'll wind up in what is known as the lower Astral Realm, known as the underworld by some, which resembles hell. A christian would see it as what Christians think hell is, which I would imagine would be incredibly terrifying, b/c the thing they don't tell you is that this state of mind is not permanent, as nothing below the highest realms are. Physical reality at it's core is about survival. Astral is about emotions. Causal is of the mind, or thought.
If your emotional state is in turmoil, you have to go to the lower astral to burn off that negative energy by experiencing it in the most profound way. But everybody eventually shifts out of that state it isn't meant to be a punishment or punish anything, but it's there to cleanse your soul of that negative conflicting energy.
Atheists, likewise, will be greeted with something profoundly dark and unconscious, to reflect the nothingness they believe in. And again, it's not a judgement. Death is not a judgement, but a reflection of what is in your mind and heart.
This knowledge is important in my opinion, b/c once you learn what's likely in store for the people who have wronged or are currently wronging you, you'll feel more obliged to pray for them rather than resent them or want revenge, as there is really nothing you can do for them and they have no idea what is in store for them, for if they're deliberately going out of their way to wrong others, they're likely full of fear, anger, sorrow, conflict or a combination of these.
Might not be the case for everybody, but this at least reflects my own personal experience. I don't really hate anybody anymore. If somebody wrongs me, I don't resent them, I pray for them. I am not a Christian, and prayer is the communication between me and what I consider to be 'the divine'.

I would caution everyone from taking the concept of Moloch too literally. As with many symbols in the bible, they are things that you manifest through your actions. The main point about Moloch is something in the vein of “He demands infinite potential (children metaphor) and gives you nothing in return return”. An example for something like that would be excessively playing video games (waste your time, gain nothing) or general obsessions with things that do not bring you closer to the best state you could possibly be in.
