hey bossman THIS IS SO SICK YOUR BLOWING UP LOL WHAT WAR-THUNDER! you need to add in another ad if you do it again that this can be played in VR which is how i play. this is not a shadow raid this game is good.
Originally made as a Genshin Impact clone, War Thunder was set to have battles from Fortnite, characters from Raid Shadow Legends, and an appearance by Antony Starr as the player's voiced airplane. So let's dive in to find out what changed and what could have been: War Thunder.
The original book is so cool! My favorite moment was about North Korea. The thing is, the whole nation went AVOL. And even after humanity took the planet back, no one ever heard from them still. It's debated that all of those 20.000.000 basically went to live in the underground bunkers. And the scariest thing is, nobody knows for sure whether or not there are 20 million zombies or 20 million survivors.
My favorite is the schizophrenic pilot, imagine a race of limping human and zombies. Also, the most bad-ass scene is the part where they're about to start reclaiming the world. Imagine how tense and action-packed is the part where they insert a small group of elite forces to create the initial safe zone, then adding more unit to enlarge the safe zone. After that, creating a camp in the middle of that safe zone until they conquer that area and become their initial base of operation. The blind japanese guy might look cool too, but feels really unrealistic.
For me what is interesting is the sad but realistic commentary on government. Dictators like china had their to do list together while democracies struggled and some folded.
@@ryu1771 they removed everyones teeth and went underground my guess is they knew it was coming like the Israelis lol they managed to get rid of everyones teeth very fucking fast
They're dead, the amount of work and resources to create a network of self-sufficient bunkers would be beyond any nation currently, let alone North Korea during an apocalyptic event.
Classic case of botching a good ip with a tone death movie and then saying that since the movie was bad no one is interested in the ip. Feels like hollywood just saying "we take full responsibility for our successes and none for the failures."
You know, a part of me wishes that JMS' original script was the one that was filmed. Not only would it have been more faithful to the book, but the themes it explored would have aged like the finest of wines.
@@ScottDimple I was mostly talking about the themes in the original script, namely the government being neglectful and trying to pass things off as fine when it's a bigger problem.
From what I've read of the novel, they should've made it more like a fake documentary about a fictional zombie war, complete with fake interviews with survivors.
@@jasonblundelldobebussing Right, and played completely straight. Imagine the documentary style of "The World at War," but with zombies. Maybe even have some fake commercials from this alternate world, like in "The Confederate States of America."
Unlike a lot of books, I think World War Z would work quite well as a streaming-era TV show. Then you can maybe start or finish the series with a bombastic Battle of Yonkers setpiece.
Said this from the moment I seen they was making the book into a film, it should if been a netflix tv series, and every episode a different survivor story
J. Michael Straczynski’s script sounds like it would’ve been a really interesting take on the zombie formula and genre and wayy more in line with the book. It’s a shame that version never got made
World War Z book was one of favourite zombie stories, and making it just another Post-apocalyptic world overrun with zombies just takes away everything that made the book great

It is like taking a book about 5 kingdoms waring for power with complex political movies, then the movie is about a horny knight who wants to save a princess from king evil.
Fincher is perfect. The book is a collection of interviews the 'author' has with people who lived through the global pandemic. Fincher excels at filming conversations.
It should be a streaming series with each episode starting as an interview before going into the story, just like the book, fleshing out the post Z world
J. Michael Straczynski script sounded great imo, an interesting twist on a genre that by 2013 had been done to death, and that felt faithful to an exciting book that was already a unique spin on Zombies. It's really sad that Marc Foster thought that he's come back required some big action blockbuster, that was similar to the book in name only. It'll probably never happen, but I'd love for someone else to take over the IP, creating a film that's closer to the book, with a far smaller budget, creating a tense thriller, with personal accounts, a handheld camera style, etc. The one thing I think Carnahan was spot on about is that it might've been misleading to name the original draft as "World War Z," but tbf, that was an early version, and I think the finished film could've evolved into a mix between the original & finished film, with more action being integrated in the 2nd half.
I remember being so hyped for the sequel when it was announced and then feeling disappointed when it got cancelled. This movie would’ve been so great and would’ve also given us another Pitt/fincher collaboration
This easily could be a miniseries on HBO or Amazon Prime. The audience follows a UN analyst interviewing survivors each episode at random points of the war, no need to keep the timeline linear. - Battle of Yonkers - The human trafficking out of South Africa - The reality show fiasco in LA - Battle of Hope, NM - How Cuba made it out the best out of all nations - The Exodus to the North and its success in defense. Each episode an hour to an hour and a half. All of those opportunities wasted. If this movie had any other title but "World War Z", it would have been a successful franchise.
Hi there, thanks again for another video. Since it’s October and the season of horror. Here are my recommendations for future videos. - George A.Romero’s Resident Evil - Wes Craven and Kevin Willamson’s original vision for the werewolf flick Cursed - Guillermo Del Toro’s adaptation of At The Mountains of Madness Also, I know that these are not what you call traditional horror films, but I’d still recommend doing a video on these in the future. - Robert Rodriguez’s original draft for Predators in the 90’s - The Hunt: Alien vs Predator by Peter Briggs
I would have to think the big wigs at the studio may have felt unsure of a sequel being successful due to the zombie genre having been oversaturated at this point. The Resident Evil movies had degenerated from cheesy fun to just being dumb, The Walking Dead just seemed to go on and on, and the Zombieland movies while fun quickly exhausted the gimmick. Maybe the idea of changing the ending to the first film eas a way to actually getting out of a sequel that would probably resulted in diminished returns. The good ideas were exhausted. How many times can they write that zombies are evolving and are tougher to kill? How many times can you have people that don't like each other have to hold up together in a bunker in order to survive? World War Z is better off being a stand alone film. Not every good idea needs to be a multi movie franchise. Just like super hero movie fatigue these days, zombie fatigue was a real thing ten years ago.
This is also Paramount, the same company that almost ran transformers into the ground and would have if Bumblebee wasn't a change of pace. Oversaturation is their motto.
@matthewdaley746 i never watched the bad boys movies so I'd have to take your word on that. But while true Michael Bay did have a big hand with how the franchise sank over the installments, it's not like Paramount is blame free as they could have stepped in at any point. This is the same studio that almost gave us crackhead sonic before everyone online complained.
@@afunkymonke Transformers is different than World War Z because the money isn't recouped from the box office but rather merchandising and other peripheral licensing deals. So Paramount would crank out a new Transformers movie every two or three years that would include two or three new robots and thus new toys would appear to clutter the toy shelves at Walmart and get the video game tie-in going etc. That is harder to do with a concept like World War Z, because I don't think parents want to give their kids zombie action figures with eaten brains accessories for Christmas.
I recently read Stracyzinski's original script....great.....a China Syndrome/ All the President's Men of zombie movies which shows us lower classes to be expendable with a cameo by -------- under his African birth name, imprisoned for decades and portrayed as a villain
Fincher has so many unrealized projects: Black Hole, Torso, 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, Mission Impossible III (the Joe Carnahan version would also be interesting).
I heard the audiobook for the abridged version loved it. But if there was a continuation of the plot in the first one i would totally watch it I'm a zombie movie sellout and the special effects and environmental set design was amazing in the first one to me.
I remember I was so excited after reading the book and hearing the were making a movie based on it. I saw it in theaters and it was packed. I left the theater after the movie and thought to myself, "What the hell was that?" I was sorely disappointed they didn't stick to the narrative as it was laid out in the book.
It could have been a better movie and I wish the phrase World War Z hadn't become a meaning for fast zombies. The book is a slow zombie and it should have been that way.
well hell. ive always grumbled about them not carrying the story on but never really looked into it or knew who or what to believe. and then learning of all that we missed out on. now, at the end of this video, i dont know if im more or even less satisfied with their choices lol. only discovered this channel today but i already love it. thank you
The final third of the film definitely feels like it's from a different movie. The scale narrows completely and it feels more like a TV episode than the climax of a movie that has so many huge set pieces.
Max Brooks' book is a biting and highly entertaining piece of social commentary wearing a zombie mask. They took the book's title and slapped it on a blah forgettable action movie starring Brad Pitt's hair. (granted the man does have some impressive follicles) Read the novel and/or listen to the audiobook, they're well worth your time.
I can't put to words how much I hate that every single one of these hacks (except Fincher) did everything in their power to NOT ADAPT THE FUCKING BOOK THEY'RE SUPPOSED TO BE ADAPTING and pushing instead their bland generic shitty zombie fanfiction. To think the Quantum of Solace dude wanted to "redeem" himself by destroying another novel and throwing away a perfectly valid script that look like it had the spirit of the book is laughable. I hope one day they grow the balls to do a good anthology series with this book. Every chapter of the book can be adapted into an amazing series of non directly related episodes with a cool cast. First season: Warnings and Blame, second season: The Great Panic and Turning the Tide... and so on until finishing with Total War. One can only dream.
great video. It would have been great to follow different people's stories during the World war z trilogy. The first movie could follow a soldier, the second would follow the people and hte third would follow Pitt as the investigative journalist

Having read the original book, it was bad enough knowing how much the film butchered the source material. Finding out now that there was a completed JMS script ready to go that was discarded is even more infuriating.
World war Z should have been an HBO series with each episode being a fake documentary with a journalist talking to a survivor and being about a story from the book.
Also what could have been Monsters Inc 2 wold be great I heard it was scrapped because the company making it shut down so would love to see how that would of turned out
World WAr Z was badly handled from the very beginning, and it never got better. the movie was only popular because of the special effects and terrific huge action scenes. No one was worrying about the story or plot.
Really enjoyed this one, thank you for clearing up why we never got a sequel to what I considered a great film that is fun to revisit on occasion. I think the final film ending we got was much better than what the original ending that was shot would’ve been. It was smarter and the scene in the laboratory was suspenseful and excellent. I have read the book which is also an entertaining read and think they complement each other well for what could have been a great franchise opportunity. I’m still pretty sad about it that they didn’t bring Pitt back for sequels and explore the “fast zombies” further. I think Pitt did a great job on this film and consider it one of my favorites of his.
Would’ve worked better as an anthology series as long as it remained faithful to the source material. The Walking Dead’s issue for the first several seasons (I stopped watching right before the Whisperers stuff) is that it drags too long for dramatic purposes. WWZ could have still had its human-centric moments, they’re still the core of any zombie story, albeit confined enough to not let each episode drag
A post zombie apocalypse movie would be very cool actually. Like the situation is (kinda) back in control, after a major outbreak (maybe even billions death). Looking for what happened and having a part in the movie play outside the zombie free (green zones). Also having big post/apocalyptic cities and communities with big walls
"Why option this book?" because name recognition, that's literally it. Why waste time coming up with some title that may or may not get butts in seats, when most people interested in zombies will know World War Z.
@@Bulletsandblockbusters if anything, this should have started with The Zombie Survival Guide, which then blows up into the full on World War Z. Take that and make the other 2 films in the trilogy, as I just don't see how they could really cover the scoop of the entire war and how many years it lasted in 2 hours or less. Yonkers alone could be a good 20 minutes, along with some of the early outbreaks, the entire India arc, the progression of the tactics and tools used by humanity, and then save maybe 20 or so minutes in the third movie to show the epilogue/ clean up, and how much this incident has truly affected the world and those who still live. You really get no sense from the movie we got that this was more than, what maybe a week or two? And yeah people seem sad but not as messed up as they should in an extinction level event. Unironically they should have made this after the movie Greenland, that had in my opinion a very good optimistic ending even if the world is absolutely messed up by the end.
Should have been a TV series. In fact, a group of actors could do a better job of adapting the novel on a RUclips channel. Crowdfunding a few flashbacks, done.
Lets face it. Brad Pitt killed the first one when he made it PG13 so his “kids could see a zombie movie in the theaters”. How F’n dumb was that? WWZ felt like a children’s zombie movie. I have a hard time Pitt couldn’t get his kids into an R rated movie. I always got in fine when I was underage.
They could just remake the audio book, but use cameras this time. Read the novel, then got the "unabridged" audio for travelling... the cast is insanely great... Mark Hamill, Alan Alda, Henry Rollins, and on and on.
The movie wasn't terrible for a "zombie movie" but they didn't do it justice. I personally wished they made this as a TV series. 1 episode = one story of each character from the book. There would be SO much more story building.
As many iterations of Salems Lot we got, a World War Z reboot on a streaming service, with no relation to the movie, (except the title), staying faithful to the book in say ten to twelve 75-90 minute episodes, done in a documentary style, is completely feasible.😎✌️
Honestly the whole thing should have been a TV show. One chapter = one to two episodes. Have filler episodes of the narrator investigating government corruption on the side and being stalled between getting to interviewees if need be.
Wow I didn't know at all about a 3rd movie, really sad we'll never know how the virus actually started but at least it gives us a bit of lore to this awesome film...

Thanks for ep! 👍🏾
I've been waiting for this video a long time. Thank you.
Mark Foster wanted to redeem himself for making a dumb action movie... by making another dumb action movie lol
This Channel Is So Entertaining
I love JMS, his back in black spider-man was awesome.
The sequel we deserved. First movie made money. And it was reslly good
Your voice is perfect
A post zombie apocalypse movie would be very cool actually. Like the situation is (kinda) back in control, after a major outbreak (maybe even billions death). Looking for what happened and having a part in the movie play outside the zombie free (green zones). Also having big post/apocalyptic cities and communities with big walls
"Why option this book?" because name recognition, that's literally it. Why waste time coming up with some title that may or may not get butts in seats, when most people interested in zombies will know World War Z.
Exactly. It’s a known IP
Keep this second, then give us a third where we see him going around interviewing and writing it down
Should have been a TV series. In fact, a group of actors could do a better job of adapting the novel on a RUclips channel. Crowdfunding a few flashbacks, done.
Oh well, I'm glad the World War Z game keeps adding content, been having fun
man im late for this 1 bossman sorry lol work sucks hahaha time to relax to my fav channel! thanks always bossman
Where you been?! Not the same without you brother
Black Summer is probably the next best thing. It's the most realistic zombie movie in a similar fast-zombie setting.
Wish we got all 3 movies
I would love to know and what could have been Divergent Series: Ascendant
I'm surprised they aren't trying to make it now as a Streaming series closer to the book.
Should've been a mini series on HBO or Prime. A missed opportunity.
So excited for this one! I’ve been waiting for it.
Damn. That sounds great. The book was phenomenal
Thanks for the amazing video ❤
tbh it would be fantastic as a tv start with a interview like last of us then have each episode like a new story
As many iterations of Salems Lot we got, a World War Z reboot on a streaming service, with no relation to the movie, (except the title), staying faithful to the book in say ten to twelve 75-90 minute episodes, done in a documentary style, is completely feasible.😎✌️
So upset no sequel ever materialized
may I ask what the source is for the footage from 3:35?
Deep Impact
Max Brooks has stated several times that the only similarity between the movie and the book is the title itself.
I really enjoyed WWZ when it came out, always wished it got a sequel.
They should of just named this movie anything else but World War Z, they ruined the name of this great series of books.
Make the unproduced sequel of my bloody Valentine
Honestly the whole thing should have been a TV show. One chapter = one to two episodes. Have filler episodes of the narrator investigating government corruption on the side and being stalled between getting to interviewees if need be.
For a moment I thought I was watching a gaming video with the 2 minute commercial
Great movie..wish there was a second
Wow I didn't know at all about a 3rd movie, really sad we'll never know how the virus actually started but at least it gives us a bit of lore to this awesome film...
Best RUclips channel ever
