He doesn't pitch well in colder temperatures so he's not as effective in the spring and fall. He's one of two Orioles on the pitching staff that, so far, doesn't need a throwing arm replacement. Two pitchers won't get a team to the World Series.

Grayson was MONEY.
That at bat by Santander in the 4th inning should automatically get him into the all star game. That at bat was unreal. Kirby was working both sides of the plate, the top and bottom of the zone, and doing it with every pitch in his arsenal. The ump called a pitch that was well off the plate inside a strike and Kirby followed that fastball up with a gorgeous breaking ball for a strike on the edge of the outside corner. So Tony had to go into swing mode and couldn’t take anything close. Then he spit on that change up that started on the outside corner at the bottom of the zone and finished a little down and away off the plate and somehow he didn’t swing. He literally stepped forward towards the plate as the ball crossed the plate because it was that close but he still had the awareness to lay off, which was a good decision because Vlad Guerrero Sr is the only guy alive that could get a piece of that pitch. Then finished it with a basehit up the middle for an RBI. That was one of the most impressive at bats we have had all season because Kirby had EVERYTHING working just how he wanted it to work. He was insane last night. I’d love to see him in an orioles uniform. #GetAnthonyToArlington

O's fan here but I have to tip my hat to Kirby dude right along with Rodriguez. He nor the Mariners shouldn't be dejected at his performance. This looked like a "who will blink first" type game.

@@theprofessor8589 You clearly don't much about pitching. The playing field was not level. Kirby was facing the #1 offense in baseball and Grayson was facing the 29th offense in baseball. They can't hit their way out of a paper bag. That dude gets no run support. Giving up 2 runs against the O's into the seventh is very impressive. The swings we were taking as a team were awful. We had no idea how to hit that guy. Soft contact. An error gave us the first run.

This mariners pitching staff is disgusting. Glad G Rod got a W against one of the best pitchers in baseball. Wouldn’t be surprised to see both of these guys at all star week.
