I think this is a lot to ask of people. Nobody needs to spend so much time on your personal preferences beyond using he, she, or they. It’s bad enough you want to invent pronouns and burden other people with that but ALTERNATING? Complete self centered bullshit.

I'm supportive if respecting gender pronouns and showing respect to all human beings. I was just wondering what people think about being able to change other constructed characteristics e.g. age. I fully support gender pronouns but not mandation by law as it gets confusing and can be potentially dangerous to change protected characteristics. What do people think of legal mandating of pronouns and other characteristics?
thank you! this was very informative but made very simple! i feel like she/they and he/they aren't explained enough! question: (using one example here) is she/they different from they/she or are they interchangeable?
Depends on who uses these pronouns and how. For some people, they list the pronoun they prefer the most first. Others list both and it doesn't matter which order they come in because they both show that someone uses both sets of pronouns. So they ca be different, but they aren't always.
as im a She/They am i able to by the Non-Binary flag? because i rlly want to by my pride flags but i dont want to seem rude as buying a Non-Binary flag when im not ment to? im sorry of this is a stupid question..
thank you for explaining this so well ! i was really afraid that preferring to use she/they pronouns would be offensive to the community since im still not entirely sure if im bi (still figuring it out) but i just really like being referred to as them ^^ i also love your dog nakita (what a pretty name honestly, i might steal for my next pet hehe) and i hope u guys have a great week
I recently found out my sexuality as bisexual but lately felt it was Pansexual. So now i go by either one. And lately i started questioning my gender. I felt comfortable with she/they. But when I read something i saw the word ‘he’ and instantly felt happy? It was like i felt so comfortable and started smiling and such. So that’s why i think i might be he/she/they? I just say i go by any pronouns. When I researched it, all that came up was non-binary, gender fluid, or gender neutral. But when I researched those i still counts understand. Like I don’t identify as male. I identify as female. But I’m so comfortable with she they and he.
So, is it ok to want to use she / they / he but be a woman? I feel comfortable and like all three, but I feel like I’m a woman so I’m worried that’s wrong.
When I read the title I just assumed that Nakita the Husky was a furry and that “Nakita the Husky” was their handle online and then I saw the first 5 seconds of the video and realized that Nakita is an actual husky

People are a lot more. That means user name. If you are trans and/or non-binary, you are most likely gonna choose a name that doesn’t fully describe your gender. For example, on game, I was Eclipse cause it was space themed like the game. I was called he/him and I immediately wanted to correct them... but then it got me thinking, waaaiiitttt.... Now I go to an app where I talk with people. On a group chat I see people waiting for me to respond saying things like “I think they’re busy?”. I realized some days when I read that, it made me happy, and other days I felt neutral to it. Which is completely different from he/him pronouns cause my brains first thought to those are “NO”. She/her also some days felt good while other days it felt neutral. I’m AFAB btw. I think I’m girldoe, which is like genderdoe, where I am genderfluid but not encompassing masculine genders and also being more tied to feminine genders. I personally feel a combination of female, agender, neutrois, and every so rarely feel mavrique. This makes me neither 100% my gender assigned at birth (called cis) nor was I 100% not my gender assigned at birth (called trans). I found isogender which is the third label in the cis/trans/iso thing. It makes me happen to finally learn that!
-My life in a short pronoun list- A week ago: they/them/themself 6 days ago: he/she 5 days ago: they/them 4 days ago: they/them 3 days ago: they/them 2 days ago: she/they Yesterday: they/them Today: he/they Tomorrow and every day after: who tf knows until the days actually come? *Genderfluid tears*
As a non native speaker (i'm from germany) they/them is super confusing tbh Well hopefully native speajers have understanding that im just trying my best 😅
At least you're trying your best we appreciate it, its better to try then outright refuse. You're not expected to get it right all the time, or know how to use they/them when you're new. As someone who's pronouns are they/them I would understand when you mess up.
I recently started using they/she and I was looking for a video like this to show my mom to maybe help since she's struggling to remember the they/them. also your dog is so cute and beautiful
I have a problem like: i like it when my boyfriend says “my girlfriend” or “that’s my girlfriend” but i also hate when anyone uses the (she) pronounce to refer to me i want people to say like “ that’s their bag” or use they/them around me but i also dont have a problem to be called a girl , but I really hate it when someone uses the she/her pronounce, what am i ?
Thanks for the video! I will soon be working with someone who has indicated she/they pronouns in their email signature and was trying to understand the pronoun mix a lil bit better (basically, do whatever floats your boat is what I'm hearing), and also how to use them well. This kinda answered both questions. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video! If anyone else has any suggestions or comments for how I should write them, please let me know! 💕
Thank you so much for this video! Last week I was talking to my mom about my pronouns and what to use when she is talking about me or interdusing me to someone, she was very confused, and since I am still learning, I was very confused on how to explain it to her. SO thank you so much!
V helpful! I have a few friends who use multiple pronouns and I've been wanting to learn more about what to do! (Obvs I know asking them directly is the best bet but I wanted to learn more in case I meet someone who uses both who I don't get to ask directly) :) Thanks for this vid and your hair is rad!
I have been recently confused about my gender its just she/her hasn't really felt right to me I started feeling drawn to he/they and I think I won't be changing that I tried experimenting by asking my friends to use those pronouns and yeah your video has helped me so thank you so much for that I hope you have a wonderful day/night btw your dog is so cuteeeee
My friend recently came out as non-binary. As a general rule, I use the pronoun they when referring to my friends and the person I'm talking to doesn't NEED to know their gender. But she uses they/she or she/they. And so, (and I should note this only got found out yesterday) they basically don't want a big deal made if someone calls her by she/her pronouns. And because it was loud (we were at pride) I was unsure if they were telling me she prefers they/them altogether or not. But I think they still don't mind me using her. So, I'm going to train myself to alternate between their preferred pronouns both in writing and spoken so that she feels more comfortable. I'm definitely not going to be perfect and I've known them as identifying female for as long as I've known them. But it's not much for me to try and do this much. And if they express she would rather I use more they/them pronouns then I will do so. In most cases, I call them by their name, so there's hardly a need to worry about the pronouns too much.
In truth, only the person whom the pronouns belong to can tell you that. Generally speaking, if someone lists two or more sets of pronouns for themself, they likely want you to use both.
Yes, but how do you use them in terms of subjective, objective, possessive dependent, possessive independent, and reflexive? This is how the custom pronouns settings are setup in The Sims 4.
Everytime I tell someone my pronouns are she/they ... they auto go to the she/her .... but I'm super happy when they/them is used ... but only 2 or 3 of my online friends alternate ... it makes me kinda sad that when I say I use 2 they pick 1
i use he/they pronouns myself, and find it hard to explain how to use my pronouns to people in a way that makes sense. this is super helpful, thanks for this :>
I have been using they/she pronouns, since I prefer they/them, but in my language there is no good gender-neutral option that fits me. (Our equivalent of they/them is Identical to the feminine singular version). So my Bio actually looks like they/she if you can read both languages, but I would feel misgendered when someone would use she while speaking English. Just to give an example of someone with mixed pronoun usage, without wanting someone to change it as they like without asking.
So I go by she/her, but I'd like to educate myself on the topic because I don't want to accidentally be ignorant when I meet someone that uses them/they, she/they etc. Now you mentioned 'fae', and I didn't know that was a pronoun. How do I use it, and what exactly does it mean?
My brother uses the pronouns fae/faer/faers as gender neutral pronouns along with other pronouns. I don't know much about it myself, but you can definitely look it up.
Thank you, and Happy birthday! Have a great day... Going back to the video, I also use He/They pronouns as a signifier to others to use both "sets" of he/his and they/them, so I completely agree with you there... I am glad other people use these in the same way because I find it difficult to ask people what they mean by the pronouns they choose.... As for other topics you can talk about, could you do a video on where to find other genderfluid beings, on the internet or irl? Thanks again 😋❤
So, when politely addressing a person who uses “they/them” what do we say in place of “ma’am” or “sir”? Instead of “yes, ma’am” do we say, “ yes, they”? Real question.
As someone who exclusively prefers gender neutral language, I don't mind sir (especially as a joke), but ma'am sounds like it's a women in her 60s, it so old fashioned. It someone doesn't like gendered language just don't use titles or honorifics, just say Yes, unless that person is ok with something else. There is Mx (Pronounced Mix) which is a alternative of Mr, Miss, Mrs, Ms.
@@neon17.08 just out of curiosity and maybe to help put your comment into context for me, how old are you? I use “yes ma’am/sir” when I’m speaking to strangers because it’s polite and more respectful than just flatly saying “yes”or “no”. Also, “mx” isn’t a word. That’s not a thing at all and sounds absolutely ridiculous to everyone. Respect isn’t “old fashioned “.
@@mx_nana_banana it is polite and respectful to say “ma’am” or “sir” instead of robotically saying “yes” or “no”. And only pirates say “oi”. That’s weird.
You clearly don't know much about Shakespeare, then. Shakespeare would love this concept. Shakespeare also was one of the first people to use the singular form of the pronoun "They" in his works.
Depends on the person. I know several people who use both he/him and she/her pronouns. Some of them are binary trans, some of them are gender fluid, a few are nonbinary or bigender. Occasionally, there might be a troll using he/she to be offensive, but I haven't met any.

same ❤
Why does it matter… why make it so complicated. JUST BE YOU
I love the she they, her him, pronouns. They denote who I will not hire.
As a conservative Texan, I’m genuinely curious how to address my they/she coworker!!! This is alllll new to me and I typically say “hey girl” to all my coworkers but when I see ‘her’ I don’t thinks saying “hey they” would make sense! And to say ‘her’ name would be too formal sooooooo what do you say in those daily settings ? Sorry, I’m trying to be sensitive even though this topic is very new school to me and I still have traditional beliefs 😅
No worries! It's okay to say "hey" or "hey friend" as well as ask them if they're okay with "hey girl."
The option isn’t available to me... I’m under 18, does that have something to do with it?
I like to sing old songs, to myself and sometimes friends. I use they and them and Some Enchanted Evening still sounds just as lovely without leaving anyone out who may be listening.
I still don't understand!! What does she/they mean??
it just means that they go by those pronouns and either works! sometimes they do have a preference, but not always .
@@Buvucyxfubvydrztcib oh thanku!!!
I think this is a lot to ask of people. Nobody needs to spend so much time on your personal preferences beyond using he, she, or they. It’s bad enough you want to invent pronouns and burden other people with that but ALTERNATING? Complete self centered bullshit.
You mentioned my pronouns at 3:04 in the video I use he/she because I'm a Bigender person (Bigender means you have 2 genders)
Thank u so much for this video. I've been struggling with this for a while and your video was like a signal. I was being rude to myself bc i thought my pronouns were just a weird feeling but now I'm very sure about my identity. Thank u again, I hope you're doing amazing!!! 💗
wonho in the background just makes this so much better for me. thank you so much
I told my friends I'm demigender and use she/they pronouns and they only use she/her pronouns. Idk how to tell them that I'd prefer if they alternated I don't want to annoy them ;_;
dont be scared to speak up abt it!!
thank you so much, seriously. hearing how valid my pronouns are makes things so much easier.
Ahhh thank you I’ve been thinking about it and I didn’t really understand it so this helped QwQ
as im a She/They am i able to by the Non-Binary flag? because i rlly want to by my pride flags but i dont want to seem rude as buying a Non-Binary flag when im not ment to? im sorry of this is a stupid question..
If you are nonbinary, yes!

Pronouns dont equal gender, you can use any pronouns regardless of your gender ^^
she/theys + he/theys
never being called they
When I read the title I just assumed that Nakita the Husky was a furry and that “Nakita the Husky” was their handle online and then I saw the first 5 seconds of the video and realized that Nakita is an actual husky
Happy late birthday-
Thanks for the video btw
this video was extremely helpful for me! i have been wondering about which pronouns to use because i knew for a fact that she/her didn't necessarily fit right with me but i still wanted to use she as a pronoun. i knew i could use she/they but i was so confused with if i even could! i'm going to start using she/they officially now that i understand the use of these pronouns now 😆 thank you so much for posting this video 🥰 i'll be looking forward to new videos that you'll post in the future 😄
Yay! I’m so glad! And thank you!
Hi! I'm really glad that you told us how to use the pronouns, it's really useful information!
Unrelated (I post this on all videos): Some support for anyone: The crisis lines are on google. Maybe search up the instructions to. The instructions for Canada: just text the word text or Text or TEXT I'm not sure which one. They are also on Quora (the phone numbers) if you search up something bad mental health related. They show up at the top if you click on the page from the website. Numbers that you can call are on google, as well as su1c1de prevention lines. Make sure it's the right one for your country.

Tomorrow and every day after: who tf knows until the days actually come?

As a non native speaker (i'm from germany) they/them is super confusing tbh
Well hopefully native speajers have understanding that im just trying my best 😅
What is FAE????
How a whole generation abused a language to get attention
yup
Thanks for the video! I will soon be working with someone who has indicated she/they pronouns in their email signature and was trying to understand the pronoun mix a lil bit better (basically, do whatever floats your boat is what I'm hearing), and also how to use them well. This kinda answered both questions. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video! I'm currently in the process of writing something and I really wanted to ensure that I properly expressed combination pronouns since I have a character who I'm making he/they.
Where u got that Chain from?

V helpful! I have a few friends who use multiple pronouns and I've been wanting to learn more about what to do! (Obvs I know asking them directly is the best bet but I wanted to learn more in case I meet someone who uses both who I don't get to ask directly) :) Thanks for this vid and your hair is rad!
Is it ok if I use she/her/hers/he/him/his/they/they/theirs as an agender person born as a female?
Use whatever you want
I have been recently confused about my gender its just she/her hasn't really felt right to me I started feeling drawn to he/they and I think I won't be changing that I tried experimenting by asking my friends to use those pronouns and yeah your video has helped me so thank you so much for that I hope you have a wonderful day/night
btw your dog is so cuteeeee
Their is plural in that case correct? As in “their” birthday.
Thank you! I’ve been so confused and worried I might offend someone 😅
THIS WAS POSTED ON MY BIRTHDAY
im really confused still
My friend recently came out as non-binary.
If someone uses she/they pronouns, is it ok to only use she when referring to her?
In truth, only the person whom the pronouns belong to can tell you that. Generally speaking, if someone lists two or more sets of pronouns for themself, they likely want you to use both.
as someone who uses those pronouns, no. it feels like you’re invalidating the fact i would like to use they/them as pronouns as well
@@user-bw3ty5oz9h omg gabi!!! I honestly hate her a lot but I feel bad for her.
@@fla8623 even if you hate someone it doesn’t give you the right to not use their correct pronouns

I had to Google this and nothing showed up :> ty for helping me!
i use he/they pronouns myself, and find it hard to explain how to use my pronouns to people in a way that makes sense. this is super helpful, thanks for this :>
Thank you!!! Very concise and welcoming 😊 I’ve been using she/they for about a month now I really like it

What is your dog?
3:32 Who said ur dog wants to be referred as a she
I'm bisexual but can i use she/they?????
Yes!
I’m straight and female should I use she/her or she/him .. I’m confused
You can use whatever pronouns seem right to you!
Can I use she/they as a demigirl?
I think you can choose watherver feels right for you
So I go by she/her, but I'd like to educate myself on the topic because I don't want to accidentally be ignorant when I meet someone that uses them/they, she/they etc.

Ma'ir
As someone who exclusively prefers gender neutral language, I don't mind sir (especially as a joke), but ma'am sounds like it's a women in her 60s, it so old fashioned.
It someone doesn't like gendered language just don't use titles or honorifics, just say Yes, unless that person is ok with something else.
There is Mx (Pronounced Mix) which is a alternative of Mr, Miss, Mrs, Ms.
i personally never use ma’am or sir, i just say “hi” “oi” or “hey”, sir and ma’am are too formal, and it just feels weird to say them.

It’s simple. You can call any MALE/FEMALE “wei” and it’s all good. No butt hurts, no crying, no one offended😅
Shakespeare would be offended if he saw this!
You clearly don't know much about Shakespeare, then.
Shakespeare would love this concept. Shakespeare also was one of the first people to use the singular form of the pronoun "They" in his works.
Hey, I've been wondering if someone uses He/she pronouns, are they trying to be disrespectful.
Depends on the person. I know several people who use both he/him and she/her pronouns. Some of them are binary trans, some of them are gender fluid, a few are nonbinary or bigender. Occasionally, there might be a troll using he/she to be offensive, but I haven't met any.
💖💖💖, thanks for the reply/clarification.
Thinking it was like she/her because I speak Spanish and I'm not very informed on this, I already saw my mistake and I'll change it because I'm fine with she/her.
I'm cis and don't mind being called "they," does that mean anything?
Depends, anyone can be called by they/them. You can match any gender with any pronouns and still be valid as that gender.
I told my teachers to call me she they and they feel pretty right? Idk I wasn't like feeling bad with she her but when someone calls be they them it feels not wrong. Like if someone called me he him I would correct them. Anywho thanks even tho I'm late 😌

When someone puts she /her in her bio does it mean she's a lesbian ?
