Beside PF, she is always mediocre and still is. She certainly benifit a lot from recent meta, but after this version, her mediocrity will probably become more apparent again. I dont know what kind of drug does VarsII take would make him commont on himiko's strength based on current meta, which is extremely biased toward fire weakness. As he said, himiko's weakness is always too situational and rely too much on fire weakness enermy. No fire weakness=>hard to trigger her passive=>no dmg .The current version of the game is the best she can get and there wont be too much room for her to grow. There is still probability that himeko can do well in the future, depending what character mihoyo wanted to promote over that whole 2.x(something like jingliu in 1.x), I dont think there is a single MoC 12 missing ice weakness after jingliu and before acheron come out. If that character is selected to be FF, then himiko may still have some chance to be good, but I dont think it would as rediculous as current meta anyway since there are they need to promote in each meta.
Nah, the whole moc rn is tailored for FF and BH(mostly FF) Enemies on floor 12 literally only require breaking the shield and they all get vulnerability. Also the introduction of Gallagher
About 9:10 Firefly and Himeko ABSOLUTELY has synergy with each other. Firefly ignores weakness and applies fire weakness with her technique and skill which creates more opportunities for Himeko do to her follow up attacks.
Im surprised you didnt mention Gallaghers release as a huge buff to himeko, her main issue was that there was no consistant driver for the fire weakness break and then you release gallagher who not only heals your entire party, generates skill points and has a cleanse but also has both insane single target for boss and multitarget for the goons break capabilities. He works so well with her you can throw in any other 2 units with the duo and you clear every single current gamemode.
You can do so even better with Firefly who can be used universally anywhere without fire weak mobs. Gallagher is good but just note he will be tied to fire weak stages just like Himeko.
Yeah I kinda went into the Sunday Boss Fight with my Argenti team and got a bit cooked. I was already building Himeko and Herta to use in the AOE content of the game, now I am building her and Gallagher to use with the Superbreak mechanic......but Who should I use for the battle? Himeko and Trailblazer have a spot in the team, I have built and used Luocha(E1 btw won a 50/50 I wanted to lose) ever since I got him in Acheron's debut so I dunno if I should keep him or go with Gallagher.....and I need one last party member.....who should I use?

It wasn't nonsense. The only reason pure fiction exists is because the devs didn't make enemies and scenarios that let erudition characters shine. Then they made pure fiction so now erudition has its uses

It was a problem for the longest time, because even when bosses had minions , once those were gone, you just had a much more beefy boss, which Himeko struggled against. PF and SB were almost tailor made for characters like her to bring them into the meta. Even now she's rated super low for MOC.
So happy Himeko is finally getting the credit she deserves. I built her since day 1 but am so happy she’s good. I used her with Kafka before Black Swan was a character and before Acheron and I robin she was the 3rd mommy I used in my triple mommy team.
0:54 Bronya is still a good choice even in break teams since she doubles the damage your break dps deals per turn due to her turn advance when you spd tune her after your dps even if her buffs are unnecessary
Got a friend to start playing Star Rail during 1.5 and they got Yanqing as their 5-star from yhe beginner banner. My only consolation to them was, "at least its not Himeko" ... Nope, turns out they took away even that.
Yanqing just needs a specific support to boost him up. Which can easily happen depending on various ways they expand on gameplay. He very much feels like a "HSR Keqing" to me.
@@amandaslough125 Himeko is more like HSR Keqing. Keqing got buffed by dendro. Himeko got buffed by PF and super break. Yanqing has no niche and is competing with RRAT team and Boothill, and loses massively. Aventurine fixed his passive uptime issue but his damage is just lacking.
@@amandaslough125 I cannot emphasize this enough, 100% uptime on Soulsteel Sync still has him doing worse than a lot of characters. He brings nothing special other than a chance to freeze enemies, and good luck counting on that to carry you. Jingliu gets similar crit/dmg amp and similar damage ratios. She is better for SP, has action advance, and cleaves.
You forgot to mention one more thing: Firefly + Himeko is disgusting in Pure Fiction now. Firefly's technique applies fire weakness to every spawning enemy wave and deals an instance of fire damage right away. Against these small enemies, with Ruan Mei that's enough to instantly fire break them, which thus instantly procs Himeko's FuA. You're almost oneshotting waves automatically when they spawn without even taking an action. If you can manage to survive sustainless then Firefly Himeko Herta Ruan Mei is probably the strongest PF team in the game now (otherwise cut out whichever one of them for a sustain).
@@UltimatePollo3495 Should be several options. I use Grand Duke as 4pc and Planars you can probably use any out of Salsotto, Sigonia, Duran, or even Kalpagni Lantern in this particular case. It'll work fine either way with just her regular dps build, don't need to build anything special for break. You get a ton of break effect buffs from HMC and/or Ruan Mei anyway.
Himiko has some really bad key traces, but getting 15% crit rate off of Benchmark is insane. To put things into perspective, 15% crit rate is about 4 substats worth. It's not anything like Jingliu getting a goddamn 50% Crit Rate just for existing, but it's still a really good trace.
She was my second 5* (obtained from standard banner before ever pulling on the limited banner) and I never saw the issue with her. I knew early on that she was meant to be a late game unit thanks tonher A6 and saw that the pairing with Herta was insane from miles away. Glad to see people no longer shitting on her though.
So lucky to immediately E1 her. After pulling for Ruan Mei, just trying my luck on Firefly banner, Himeko came home in 3 pass (now I'm guaranteed for Jiaoqiu). What I really need is more erudition character for Pure Fiction. Then after a few days, tried pulling on standard banner and got her again😭.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they did plan that far ahead. Genshin Impact’s starter character Lisa scales with Elemental Mastery as an electro character. This was virtually useless before Sumeru
You would use Firefly, Himeko, RM, HMC in PF now. I don't see how Herta fits on this team. Losing too many buffs. Better to use Herta with Jade if you pull her.
I got e3 himeko in the first week of game at relase. I invested fully in her. Yesterday with the montly reset i got another copy of her. Yep, im happy.
Very lucky. Instead I have just Himeko E0...from the selector...after spending a lot of jades on it... I play HSR just to play her (I bruteforced a lot of contents with her since 1.3), I pulled JY's for her. Now I want only more Eidolons, but she ( and Clara) don't exist in my games.
After not even knowing who she was, then watching the pain and suffering she’s been through from Hi3 and on, she is everything I need her to be. Make sure her cup is always full.

Been runnin Himeko, HTB, RM and Gall in DU and the new AS mode and have been really happy with the results. Was happy with her when PF dropped as well, glad she's turned around from her 1.0 standing.

i just don't agree that firefly and himeko dont have good synergy, i used both in the same team in pure ficton and firefly breaks let himeko do countless victory rush, and with harmony mc she deal super break to elites who didn't died yet with the breaks
Dudes tripping. Especially at e2 FF. She guarantees atleast three fodder breaks, on off elements: with 2 skill use. Fire implant guarantees himekos ult/skill/fua will always add to break. Only down side is if boss can atk and have one shot/wombo combo in. Which is why Gallagher still holds moc/apocalypse spot for now.
Himeko was always strong. 2nd highest base ATK in the game, ATK ratio rivaling destruction units despite being Erudtion, easy to proc follow up, perfect synergy with her lightcone... you name it. Relics like Grand Duke, and now Super Break only made her better. People just didn't realize and left her to dust her being a standard character. Have been using her since day one and cleared everything. Never regretted it. P.S: I have a feeling at some point a similar kind of video will be out about Welt too. He is extremely flexible, can be both a support or a carry and is a monster in both.
I’d also thank erudition path coming to SU. It was built around Argenti but she’s so general with a damage split of FUA, skill, ult, break and dot damage, that she benefits from all the ult spam too. Combine erudition and elation path and she destroys anything, and you can combine these for ult/ skill/ FUA spam for toughness breaking in break teams now too, which is helpful for DU favouring break for Firefly. She started as a calyx monster and grew into being a Pure Fiction/ SU/ DU monster who also occasionally goes from being a decent MoC/ AS pick to a brilliant one depending on the matchup. So universal and reliable now. Thank goodness I got her!

Lets also not forget the FuA focused relic and planar sets as the best Himeko had for a long time was Atk +12% with Fire DMG 10%. And she can use Duke’s 4 piece just as well as Jing Yuan

Fast forward to last week when I finally hit 300 standard pulls and used the selector on Himeko immediately as I didnt have her yet. The turnaround she had in just that short time frame is insane and I couldn't imagine picking anyone else off that banner now

Feels like 5 star characters on the standard banner are a tier below limited 5 stars. They can still be very good just like 4 stars but they're relatively easier to get, new ones are rarely added and their kits aren't as crazy or meta changing. I've always liked the idea of expanding the standard banner with either new 5 stars or old limited ones. Seele, for example, feels like a better fit for a standard banner unit as she's undeniably fell off in the meta since her last rerun. But she's still a decent damage dealer if you build her. Himeko is the same, although her kit is more restricted in when it can be useful. But I see no reason why I can't pull Seele but I can pull Himeko anytime. Yanqing, on the other hand, needs to be downgraded to a 4 star. But old habits die hard and I doubt Hoyo wants to make any huge changes to the game.
I agree with more characters on the standard banner but only when we are required 3 teams for endgame mode meaning people like luocha become more useful
I'm not gonna lie I haven't watched the video yet but is there a reason we needed 14 minutes to say "Pure Fiction?". Her main weakness has always been her AOE mob clearing strength in an endgame meta that revolved around elites and bosses until like what, 1.5? 1.6? Maybe I'm just assuming everyone is as terminally online as I am. EDIT: I guess there are interesting things to say about her getting indirect buffs from when they pushed follow-up as a meta gimmick and that she slots decently well into the Superbreak team core...
still need 20 pulls to get her, but Gepard always takes my 50/50 and for the SB, I have Himeko's LC twice (20 pulls to get the 300 Free 5* Character at your choice)
Luocha didn't powercreep Bailu, Natasha and Lynx already did that. Sure Bailu can heal more and revive, but she doesnt have a cleanse, and more often than not, removing debuffs is alot more important.
Himeko is the only unit that I have 3 builds for. Typical crit, break hybrid & ehr dot applier (pair with acheron when fire weak enemies, don't wanna build Gui 😂)

I always knew Himeko is strong when the content calls for it. The bosses in 2.2 are all made for Himeko. That puts her in a strong position whenever they come up.
I hate how standard banner eidolon is completely fucked, we have incredible buffs like Welt E1 with an extra bounce which is huge for both his damage and breaking capability, Bronya E1 covers her biggest weakness which is high SP consumption. Then we have stuffs like Himeko with E1 and E2 being completely irrelevant (minor stat boost lol), then Gepard with a set of completely useless eidolons even at E6. Yes I'm salty because I have E2 Gepard and E1 Himeko right now
I always advocated for her. I always said break was fairly easy to get off and play around, so you could easily optimize her damage, especially if you had someone like Silver Wolf making break available even when the enemy wasn’t naturally weak to any of your elements. But she DEFINITELY massively benefited from all the changes. Though I will say I hate hearing people saying she got “buffed”. Call it my elitism if you want. But receiving support isn’t a buff if you ask me. It’s just receiving a support. Because if you don’t get said support or have room to slot it in then you aren’t exactly benefiting from said support “buff” now are you?
Watching your videos make me realize that "Waifu over Meta" works despite I am a F2P player. In fact, some cases, I rolled a certain character because I love the Japanese VA who voiced it. I picked Himeko in standard banner despite people recommending Bronya because I love Rie Tanaka. In Penacony, I pulled Acheron(both character and LC), Robin and Firefly because I like their designs, stories and their JP VA not realizing how op they are in meta.
I am entirely convinced this was planned. Maybe not down to the last detail, but I was sure when I looked at her kit that the Meta would swing back in her favor. She wasn’t just one of the first 5 stars, but this games version of HI3 Himeko so, she holds a special place in many Hoyoverse/Mihoyo fans. I noted how broken Seele was when she first came out, and was like “Just watch. She’ll get fazed out as new support comes out and they start making harder to kill enemies.” But Himeko being rather mediocre from start, even as a 5 star? I said: “They’ll probably introduce an area of the game that necessitates AOE units.” Sure enough, I called it.
Follow up attack characters are always get the most useful buff istg (both from MoC, PF, and relic/planar) Yeah new planar and relic aren't the only thing that makes Himeko really strong but new planar and relic is one of those reason Even now the new planar is broken for the most follow up character, it's like every 2-3 patches they buff follow up attack characters I mean I'm happy himeko and herta has their time but some character like welt and yanqing are also need a buff. Maybe a new planar for imprisonment character? Delaying enemy action for every effect hit rate. And Yanqing is still hopeless even after Aventurine, he need a new relic/planar like increase... nvm Yanqing is beyond help. Not even aventurine could help him, his damage is lower than Hook's damage which is stupid Relic and Planar power creep is a real thing, it could be a life saver for old character and it's the only power creep that I love.
You didn't even mention new break set on her, making her hybrid crit break. She's NOT a gimmicky character anymore, she's just simply good now. Turn's out, himeko's biggest buff is just the release of other fire multi target waifu character because now for a couple patches, all enemies in all game modes will require fire unit and that's the pocket himeko has been since the very beginning!
Himeko is the 5 star I chose with my 300 standard wish and I never regretted it even before all these buffs. After HI3rd you better believe im making her as strong as I can. I wouldn't say Himeko and FF don't have Synergy, FF has insane breaking abilities and the abilility to implant fire weakness and that naturally benefits Himeko a lot.
They tried so fvcking hard to buff KingYuan since his first released with lots of relics and supports yet Himeko doesn't even need PF, just 1 Harmony MC the BAAM!!!! One of the best DPS in HSR right now

The break effect build for Himeko has been such a boon for her making her viable in more than just pure fiction. I think Himeko has a high probability to age well too given she shares both element and playstyle with Firefly. Hoyoverse cannot buff Firefly without also buffing Himeko unless they make all future support specifically tailored to FF.
I've been playing since day one I have E3 Bronya, E3 Yanqing, E2 Bailu, E2 Gepard and E0 Welt I don't have Himeko or Clara I even have Himeko's Light Cone. Firefly and Herta have been carrying my PF runs.
It is kind of funny for me. HImeko was like my first 5 star. I could never figure out why people said she was weak cause i was always kicking ass with her. Evern agasint bosses I was still able to get out a lot of damage done with her. I never felt like she was weak cause I put BREAK artifacts on her. And she just killed everything for me.
Himeko at the start of the game wasn't great. U didnt have units like Ruan mei or Robin, who benefited dual dps comps. We also didnt have pure fiction. Now that we have them, himeko is good now. So i wouldnt call the tcs analysis on her during early days was wrong. If anything, it just proves that a character thats not good currently has the chance to be meta in the future.
Himeko actually already has, or rather had, a place in dot teams. There was a pure fiction cycle a while ago where one of the buffs you could pick was advancing your team's actions when enemies take dot, favouritising characters that can apply dot but not necessarily rely on them, just like himeko. Along with hook and asta, this team allowed me to get my only 12 stars ever
I'm only 30 standard pulls away from finally getting Himeko on the selector (I already have Bronya). Her design and ult animation were the reason I started playing the game, but I keep losing 50/50's to Bailu and Clara instead.
Has to do with Pure Fiction, and now Divergent universe. The game mode is sooo tailored for Firefly with Fire weak enemies flying left and right that it ended up shadow buffed himeko (and crowning Gallagher as the best offensive healer you can bring; sir be shredding those weakness bar so fast).
My hatred for SuperBreak knows no bounds, no limits. F2P Rice-eaters 0-Cycle clear all the content with their crap artifacts. This is insane, why would the Devs bend the knee towards the poor players?!

I am still rather dissappointed that AS didn't end up being a dedicated single target mode. That would have been great for Hunt characters, especially the ones that don't have some kind of cheesy quasi AoE effect.
Easy answer: she has never been weak. I play her since the first patch. And she constantly helped me closing a couple of stages in MoC. People just ignored her, or tried making her a hypercarry, where she's not

It was a problem for the longest time, because even when bosses had minions , once those were gone, you just had a much more beefy boss, which Himeko struggled against. PF and SB were almost tailor made for characters like her to bring them into the meta. Even now she's rated super low for MOC.

So happy Himeko is finally getting the credit she deserves. I built her since day 1 but am so happy she’s good. I used her with Kafka before Black Swan was a character and before Acheron and I robin she was the 3rd mommy I used in my triple mommy team.
0:54 Bronya is still a good choice even in break teams since she doubles the damage your break dps deals per turn due to her turn advance when you spd tune her after your dps even if her buffs are unnecessary

Prior to Firefly's release, I used her team with my poorly built Himeko to clear PF lol it was so good
Got a friend to start playing Star Rail during 1.5 and they got Yanqing as their 5-star from yhe beginner banner. My only consolation to them was, "at least its not Himeko"

Yanqing just needs a specific support to boost him up. Which can easily happen depending on various ways they expand on gameplay. He very much feels like a "HSR Keqing" to me.

Yanqing has no niche and is competing with RRAT team and Boothill, and loses massively. Aventurine fixed his passive uptime issue but his damage is just lacking.
@@amandaslough125 I cannot emphasize this enough, 100% uptime on Soulsteel Sync still has him doing worse than a lot of characters.
He brings nothing special other than a chance to freeze enemies, and good luck counting on that to carry you.
Jingliu gets similar crit/dmg amp and similar damage ratios. She is better for SP, has action advance, and cleaves.

You forgot to mention one more thing: Firefly + Himeko is disgusting in Pure Fiction now. Firefly's technique applies fire weakness to every spawning enemy wave and deals an instance of fire damage right away. Against these small enemies, with Ruan Mei that's enough to instantly fire break them, which thus instantly procs Himeko's FuA. You're almost oneshotting waves automatically when they spawn without even taking an action. If you can manage to survive sustainless then Firefly Himeko Herta Ruan Mei is probably the strongest PF team in the game now (otherwise cut out whichever one of them for a sustain).

@@UltimatePollo3495 Should be several options. I use Grand Duke as 4pc and Planars you can probably use any out of Salsotto, Sigonia, Duran, or even Kalpagni Lantern in this particular case. It'll work fine either way with just her regular dps build, don't need to build anything special for break. You get a ton of break effect buffs from HMC and/or Ruan Mei anyway.

Herta makes no sense. HMC is better. Stick Herta to a different DPS, Himeko found her actual partner. She was tired of being compared in PF.

Himiko has some really bad key traces, but getting 15% crit rate off of Benchmark is insane. To put things into perspective, 15% crit rate is about 4 substats worth. It's not anything like Jingliu getting a goddamn 50% Crit Rate just for existing, but it's still a really good trace.
She was my second 5* (obtained from standard banner before ever pulling on the limited banner) and I never saw the issue with her. I knew early on that she was meant to be a late game unit thanks tonher A6 and saw that the pairing with Herta was insane from miles away. Glad to see people no longer shitting on her though.
So lucky to immediately E1 her. After pulling for Ruan Mei, just trying my luck on Firefly banner, Himeko came home in 3 pass (now I'm guaranteed for Jiaoqiu). What I really need is more erudition character for Pure Fiction. Then after a few days, tried pulling on standard banner and got her again😭.

Firefly actually is good with Himeko. The ability to force fire weakness allows teams like Herta and Himeko to be even stronger
You would use Firefly, Himeko, RM, HMC in PF now. I don't see how Herta fits on this team. Losing too many buffs.

I play HSR just to play her (I bruteforced a lot of contents with her since 1.3), I pulled JY's for her. Now I want only more Eidolons, but she ( and Clara) don't exist in my games.
After not even knowing who she was, then watching the pain and suffering she’s been through from Hi3 and on, she is everything I need her to be. Make sure her cup is always full.
Sadly my Himeko will never be this strong because my harmony MC is already engaged to firefly.

Been runnin Himeko, HTB, RM and Gall in DU and the new AS mode and have been really happy with the results. Was happy with her when PF dropped as well, glad she's turned around from her 1.0 standing.

i just don't agree that firefly and himeko dont have good synergy, i used both in the same team in pure ficton and firefly breaks let himeko do countless victory rush, and with harmony mc she deal super break to elites who didn't died yet with the breaks

She guarantees atleast three fodder breaks, on off elements: with 2 skill use.
Fire implant guarantees himekos ult/skill/fua will always add to break.
Only down side is if boss can atk and have one shot/wombo combo in. Which is why Gallagher still holds moc/apocalypse spot for now.

Himeko was always strong. 2nd highest base ATK in the game, ATK ratio rivaling destruction units despite being Erudtion, easy to proc follow up, perfect synergy with her lightcone... you name it. Relics like Grand Duke, and now Super Break only made her better. People just didn't realize and left her to dust her being a standard character. Have been using her since day one and cleared everything. Never regretted it.
P.S: I have a feeling at some point a similar kind of video will be out about Welt too. He is extremely flexible, can be both a support or a carry and is a monster in both.
Himiko firefly is insane I got 31k points by replacing Gallagher because who needs healing when firefly breaks and himiko wipes 2 waves back to back

I’d also thank erudition path coming to SU. It was built around Argenti but she’s so general with a damage split of FUA, skill, ult, break and dot damage, that she benefits from all the ult spam too.
Combine erudition and elation path and she destroys anything, and you can combine these for ult/ skill/ FUA spam for toughness breaking in break teams now too, which is helpful for DU favouring break for Firefly.
She started as a calyx monster and grew into being a Pure Fiction/ SU/ DU monster who also occasionally goes from being a decent MoC/ AS pick to a brilliant one depending on the matchup.
So universal and reliable now. Thank goodness I got her!

Lets also not forget the FuA focused relic and planar sets as the best Himeko had for a long time was Atk +12% with Fire DMG 10%. And she can use Duke’s 4 piece just as well as Jing Yuan

I started playing exactly at the beginning of the year and I remember Bronya and Gepard being the only standard characters I wanted. Fast forward to last week when I finally hit 300 standard pulls and used the selector on Himeko immediately as I didnt have her yet. The turnaround she had in just that short time frame is insane and I couldn't imagine picking anyone else off that banner now
Depending on how the next few patches go, the astral express can be fully meta, we just need march new form to be good and idk abt welt.

Feels like 5 star characters on the standard banner are a tier below limited 5 stars. They can still be very good just like 4 stars but they're relatively easier to get, new ones are rarely added and their kits aren't as crazy or meta changing.
I've always liked the idea of expanding the standard banner with either new 5 stars or old limited ones. Seele, for example, feels like a better fit for a standard banner unit as she's undeniably fell off in the meta since her last rerun. But she's still a decent damage dealer if you build her. Himeko is the same, although her kit is more restricted in when it can be useful. But I see no reason why I can't pull Seele but I can pull Himeko anytime. Yanqing, on the other hand, needs to be downgraded to a 4 star. But old habits die hard and I doubt Hoyo wants to make any huge changes to the game.
I agree with more characters on the standard banner but only when we are required 3 teams for endgame mode meaning people like luocha become more useful
I love Welt and Himeko. They seem great with E6 Harmony TB, Firefly, and Gallagher.
I'm not gonna lie I haven't watched the video yet but is there a reason we needed 14 minutes to say "Pure Fiction?". Her main weakness has always been her AOE mob clearing strength in an endgame meta that revolved around elites and bosses until like what, 1.5? 1.6? Maybe I'm just assuming everyone is as terminally online as I am.
EDIT: I guess there are interesting things to say about her getting indirect buffs from when they pushed follow-up as a meta gimmick and that she slots decently well into the Superbreak team core...

Luocha didn't powercreep Bailu, Natasha and Lynx already did that.
Sure Bailu can heal more and revive, but she doesnt have a cleanse, and more often than not, removing debuffs is alot more important.
Himeko is the only unit that I have 3 builds for. Typical crit, break hybrid & ehr dot applier (pair with acheron when fire weak enemies, don't wanna build Gui 😂)

I always knew Himeko is strong when the content calls for it. The bosses in 2.2 are all made for Himeko. That puts her in a strong position whenever they come up.

I hate how standard banner eidolon is completely fucked, we have incredible buffs like Welt E1 with an extra bounce which is huge for both his damage and breaking capability, Bronya E1 covers her biggest weakness which is high SP consumption. Then we have stuffs like Himeko with E1 and E2 being completely irrelevant (minor stat boost lol), then Gepard with a set of completely useless eidolons even at E6.

I always advocated for her. I always said break was fairly easy to get off and play around, so you could easily optimize her damage, especially if you had someone like Silver Wolf making break available even when the enemy wasn’t naturally weak to any of your elements. But she DEFINITELY massively benefited from all the changes. Though I will say I hate hearing people saying she got “buffed”. Call it my elitism if you want. But receiving support isn’t a buff if you ask me. It’s just receiving a support. Because if you don’t get said support or have room to slot it in then you aren’t exactly benefiting from said support “buff” now are you?

Watching your videos make me realize that "Waifu over Meta" works despite I am a F2P player. In fact, some cases, I rolled a certain character because I love the Japanese VA who voiced it.
I picked Himeko in standard banner despite people recommending Bronya because I love Rie Tanaka.
In Penacony, I pulled Acheron(both character and LC), Robin and Firefly because I like their designs, stories and their JP VA not realizing how op they are in meta.
I am entirely convinced this was planned. Maybe not down to the last detail, but I was sure when I looked at her kit that the Meta would swing back in her favor. She wasn’t just one of the first 5 stars, but this games version of HI3 Himeko so, she holds a special place in many Hoyoverse/Mihoyo fans. I noted how broken Seele was when she first came out, and was like “Just watch. She’ll get fazed out as new support comes out and they start making harder to kill enemies.” But Himeko being rather mediocre from start, even as a 5 star? I said: “They’ll probably introduce an area of the game that necessitates AOE units.” Sure enough, I called it.
Follow up attack characters are always get the most useful buff istg (both from MoC, PF, and relic/planar)
Yeah new planar and relic aren't the only thing that makes Himeko really strong but new planar and relic is one of those reason
Even now the new planar is broken for the most follow up character, it's like every 2-3 patches they buff follow up attack characters
I mean I'm happy himeko and herta has their time but some character like welt and yanqing are also need a buff. Maybe a new planar for imprisonment character? Delaying enemy action for every effect hit rate. And Yanqing is still hopeless even after Aventurine, he need a new relic/planar like increase... nvm Yanqing is beyond help. Not even aventurine could help him, his damage is lower than Hook's damage which is stupid
Relic and Planar power creep is a real thing, it could be a life saver for old character and it's the only power creep that I love.
You didn't even mention new break set on her, making her hybrid crit break. She's NOT a gimmicky character anymore, she's just simply good now. Turn's out, himeko's biggest buff is just the release of other fire multi target waifu character because now for a couple patches, all enemies in all game modes will require fire unit and that's the pocket himeko has been since the very beginning!
Himeko is the 5 star I chose with my 300 standard wish and I never regretted it even before all these buffs.

The break effect build for Himeko has been such a boon for her making her viable in more than just pure fiction. I think Himeko has a high probability to age well too given she shares both element and playstyle with Firefly. Hoyoverse cannot buff Firefly without also buffing Himeko unless they make all future support specifically tailored to FF.
I've been playing since day one I have E3 Bronya, E3 Yanqing, E2 Bailu, E2 Gepard and E0 Welt I don't have Himeko or Clara I even have Himeko's Light Cone.
Firefly and Herta have been carrying my PF runs.
It is kind of funny for me. HImeko was like my first 5 star. I could never figure out why people said she was weak cause i was always kicking ass with her. Evern agasint bosses I was still able to get out a lot of damage done with her. I never felt like she was weak cause I put BREAK artifacts on her. And she just killed everything for me.
Himeko at the start of the game wasn't great. U didnt have units like Ruan mei or Robin, who benefited dual dps comps. We also didnt have pure fiction. Now that we have them, himeko is good now. So i wouldnt call the tcs analysis on her during early days was wrong. If anything, it just proves that a character thats not good currently has the chance to be meta in the future.
Himeko actually already has, or rather had, a place in dot teams. There was a pure fiction cycle a while ago where one of the buffs you could pick was advancing your team's actions when enemies take dot, favouritising characters that can apply dot but not necessarily rely on them, just like himeko. Along with hook and asta, this team allowed me to get my only 12 stars ever
I'm only 30 standard pulls away from finally getting Himeko on the selector (I already have Bronya). Her design and ult animation were the reason I started playing the game, but I keep losing 50/50's to Bailu and Clara instead.
Has to do with Pure Fiction, and now Divergent universe. The game mode is sooo tailored for Firefly with Fire weak enemies flying left and right that it ended up shadow buffed himeko (and crowning Gallagher as the best offensive healer you can bring; sir be shredding those weakness bar so fast).
My hatred for SuperBreak knows no bounds, no limits. F2P Rice-eaters 0-Cycle clear all the content with their crap artifacts. This is insane, why would the Devs bend the knee towards the poor players?!
As someone who's loved her since her trial version carried me through that first boss fight on the space station, I was QUITE happy to have lost that first 50/50 to her, but I'm glad she has greater utility now.

9:15 Doesn't Firefly have synergy with Himeko? Firefly breaks 3 enemies = Himeko follow up. Just build BE on Himeko so she does super break with her follow up for extra damage
I am still rather dissappointed that AS didn't end up being a dedicated single target mode. That would have been great for Hunt characters, especially the ones that don't have some kind of cheesy quasi AoE effect.
Easy answer: she has never been weak. I play her since the first patch. And she constantly helped me closing a couple of stages in MoC. People just ignored her, or tried making her a hypercarry, where she's not
