Excellent tracking with no innergroove distortion. Its amazing how good an elliptical stylus can sound

Absolutely amazing I stumbled upon this video. I have a Shure V15 Type III which I bought in 1976 for $80.00 Canadian. A lot of money for a 22 year old at the time. Even more amazing I see at the end of this video you are playing this on a Toshiba SR355 Direct Drive turntable. This is the turntable I purchased at the time. I still have the Toshiba turntable (still working fine) and the Shure cartridge. I've since replaced the original stylus. At the time, in 1976, I paid $300.00 Canadian for turntable and cartridge.

Hello, I'm very happy that I was able to contribute something to such wonderful memories. The Toshiba and the Shure V15 work very well together.

Fantastic sounding Shure phono cartridge! I also use a Shure V-15 T3 for critical listening, and an M75 for everyday listening.

I haven't gotten to know the '55 yet, but the first V15 I is from the same period, i think. And that is also in my collection

I have the V-15 type III and Type IV with the new Aftermarket VN35E and VN45E and from the first moment I played them, I knew that they were special .
I own a total of 22 high-end Cartridges new and vintage, Moving Coil, Moving Iron and Moving Magnet, so I can compare how great this Shure V-15 is!

I agree with you. The Shure V15 is something special. And I'm always surprised that Shure's different pickups all produce an individual sound that I appreciate so much. The special warm sound that I really like.

@@LookAndListen_VintageCartridgeYes Sir, the imaging, micro details and sound stage is great.
I ordered recently a What supposed to be a Stylus for a V-15 type III, it’s a VN35HE. In the little plastic box it says R-2248 DMR and Pham 764DMR , it’s made in the USA by Rivertone. The shaft is too wide and doesn’t fit in either my type III or type IV. What other Shure cartridges would have a wider Shaft hole that you or anyone else know about?!

My Dual 601 has this cartridge. I have done a lot of LP transfers with stand alone Pioneer Music CD-R recorder. Much better recordings than cassettes because the tape hiss is missing and there is no tape wear, etc factor. Best thing since sliced bread was introduced.

if you are looking for something comparable to the shure sound, i can recommend the adc vlm or adc qlm 30 mk iii systems.

@@LookAndListen_VintageCartridge, At this point in life, I have enough cartridges to last most if not the rest of my life. I have a spare stylus for Shure M91-ED and V-15 Type 3.
I also have an Audio Technica 440MLa

Unfortunately I've never heard the Audio Technica 440MLa, but maybe the opportunity will arise at some point. Where would you classify them in terms of sound?@@user-lx1is2wl7i

@@LookAndListen_VintageCartridge, The Shure V-15 Type 3 and AT440MLa sound much alike to my ears with the exception that the AT has a more exact fit in the record groove which makes it more sensitive to less than perfect records.

I'm a bit surprised, especially since most AT cartridges are said to sound a bit more high-pitched@@user-lx1is2wl7i
