- The Judicial Service Commission has congratulated Raymond Zondo on his new position as chief justice, even though it recommended Supreme Court of Appeal president Justice Mandisa Maya for the position. JSC spokesperson Advocate Dali Mpofu SC speaks to #Newzroom405.

Imagine if when the West invaded all the countries that were colonized, with a mentality to share equally and live a harmonious life with the indigenous people of that particular space, today, today we would have forgotten that someone is originally from the west, one group would not be complaining about the other as the beneficiaries of apartheid, and we won't be having extremely rich countries and extremely poor country, which is what's creating an endless disputes. How can you avoid politics when the constitution says politicians must be there.
Mr Xoli you have to specific with your questions , especially when dealing with Lawyers because mostly, they will use your word against you .i think Senior Advocate was right regarding that Mr President has final decision to choose or reject.

Remember Dali told us during the same interview week that the JSC will not make the announcement but submit the the report to the President just for them to turn around and do the opposite... So that whole JSC was a mess. They thought Cyril will walk into their trap. They release the recommendations unprocedurally so that Cyril is forced to appoint their favorite candidate but Ramaphosa is not as stupid as they think he is😂😂
Mpofu could have simply told Xoli some questions asked the Judges especially Zondo were based on his political character as a Judge. They were relevant. As Malema told him he cannot be political friendly with politicians for the sake of the position.
Interesting that Dali only sees fit now to correct comments & conclusions. Can you imagine what he would have said if Justice Maya was appointed....

The JSC broke the rules of engagement by announcing the recommendation, they're bound by act 18 of the JSC code of conduct to allow the President to do the announcement... Dali and Juju messed up the JSC process this time.

It was a deliberate attempt to undermine the President and force him to appoint their favorite candidate. They knew that once they make the announcement Cyril will be under pressure to adhere to their call but unfortunately Ramaphosa refused to be undermined and ignore their recommendations

I have realised how uneducated some of us are in the comment space. We have failed dismally to make distinction of characters and roles. Dali mpofu is the chair, and he has come to this interview as exactly that, a representative of the JSC not to spew his personal views and sentiments around matters at hand. What is there to be aggressive about? His statement "the JSC is not capable of being disappointed" says it all.

It must be difficult being him. His party, the EFF... rejects Zondo's nomination. The JSC, a body for which he's a member and spokesperson.. Welcomes Zondo's nomination. I wonder what his real and genuine standpoint is on this matter. Is it not funny how JSC can interview but can't appoint..? If they can interview, their recommendation must atleast be binding on the president.
