This is easily the most underrated video on RUclips. People should be crying out for content like this at times like these. Really useful stuff. Thank you so much. I will never buy chicken fillets again.
Hope to see more videos from you soon hint hint nudge nudge 😁

Really appreciate this video. With a family of 6 (4 teenage boyos) every way of saving and extracting value for money is invaluable.
    Really enjoying your feed.
    Thank you

So glad you’ve posted this video, Carl. We’ve moved to buying whole birds from our local farm but I’ve not felt confident enough to butcher myself so always roast the whole bird and then use it to make a couple of meals, some cold cuts and stock. Will definitely give butchering a go next time as it offers more options and allows freezing so you don’t have to deal with the whole thing at once. Thanks for sharing - super content 😊 (ps I also bought Sally’s book this morning inspired by your new plot!)

Dear Carl, Love your T-shirt! Great video for those who've never fabricated a bird. I've done turkeys frozen, now that's an arm wrestle.
You caught my eye with that rabbit stock - very interested in rabbit meat as it's on our to-do list in our homesteading future.
Love how you utilized every bit of that tiny bird and got more than your monies worth, I can see you know you're stuff. Curious if you take the wing and drumstick bones and add them to the next go round of stock? I would. More flavour!
    Best, Alex - NetZero Homestead

Thanks Alex! I have plans for rabbit videos in the future. I am likely to be trapping/shooting them more regularly in the future. 😊👍

I take the post stock remnants and feed to the dogs... Zero waste! At that stage, all bones FROM A YOUNG BIRD can be smashed easily with just fingers, so no worries about bone shards in dog throats.

Hi Carl, have you seen Dan’s video on portioning a chicken? He is a trained chef, it wasn’t a way I had seen before, but great way of getting regular sized pieces. ruclips.net/video/OluUxrKhFWg/видео.html
