Too bad I can’t because it’s literally impossible to find men’s sizes for roller skates, I didn’t realize roller skating was such a sexist sport. So disappointing

Idk how these girls make roller skating look so elegant & graceful! 👀🤣 I remember when I went to the roller skating rink a few years ago, I put those skates on and couldn’t believe how heavy they were! 🤯😭 My ass was falling everywhere 😂
I’m getting back into skating and literally am obsessed watching other peoples’ journey skating right now and I cannot wait for my skates to get here! Love the way you did the video! *side note - you have literally the best place to practice before going out!
I’m 61 in may. I haven’t skated since high school and when my kids were young back in my 20s. But I have grandkids now so I picked it up again to bond with them, they love 💕 it. But you can’t be afraid of falling in order to stay with it.
First of all, huge kudos to you Sophia! You are truly amazing, and your skating is alread very beautiful in a very short time period! I've been practicing the exact same moves for every single day for 16 months and sadly, I'm still nowhere near to the progress you got in just 30 days. I would just like to acknowledge what a natural you are and you've very lucky roller skating talent has been gifted to you. NGL, this video was essentially heartbreaking because I'm still struggling with all of these fundamentals after tirelessly working on dance skating and rhythm skating daily for over 1 year and my progress has been excruciatingly slow. But, anyone else who's still struggling with basics after 30 days, please don't give up! Skating is an amazing journey that is fun and rewarding, and it's definitely not a linear skill, so don't give up if you're a slow learner like I am. I started my journey extremely out of shape, overweight and I've always been clumsy and uncoordinated. Don't let that be an excuse if you're struggling or not sure if it's right for you. Skating is for everyone!!!! You are amazing just being you and try not to worry about how others are progressing, you can do this💖💖💖
This video is so dope I’ve watched it like 3 times but just 1 warning for anyone learning to skate and watching this do NOT fall with your wrists first. It seems like it makes sense to catch yourself that way but your butt can absorb a lot more impact than your wrist. You could seriously hurt yourself or even break your wrist falling that way. Def am not assuming any intent to harm just felt it was important to clarify that!
I’ve been off of skates for a month due to tearing a ligament and this just made me miss it so much more! I’m so glad you found skating! There’s a sense of freedom and joy it brings me as well as so many other people!
You did amazing! All I’m saying is that “no background” in skating can’t be entirely true because no one hops on skates the first day and is able to skate forward, backward, and do tight spins/turns like you did.
Everyone’s different. I’ve only ever ice skated, and roller skates and rollerblades feel different. The first time I tried roller skates I was like Bambi on ice, by 30 minutes in, I was doing cross overs forwards and skating backwards. In others words, experience in other things help.
Funny you thought skating would be out of character ! This is the most Sophia sport ever ! So fun and lighthearted while being tough as hell. This video is a testament to your dedication and hardworking nature !! Thank you so much for sharing.
This video was sooo enjoyable and inspiring to watch.. I think as we grow older we forget to learn and do things just for the sake of having fun with it. After watching this I feel so inspired to just try something new and keep at it. 🛼🥰 thank you Sophie!
Does anyone else feel like skating after watching this? 🤩 This is amazing! I love seeing how you just picked up the new hobby and stuck to it, documenting each step of the way. I don't think I would've been able to achieve as much as you did within 30 days hahaha
This video was truly refreshing! The joy and dedication in your new hobby rekindled my love for the hobbies I neglected!! Also the scene @19:32 is hilarious. Have a good day!
You are so adorable! Thank you for sharing your journey! It was really amazing watching your progress! You are a beautiful skater!! I’m 52 & started skating a few months ago. It has been many decades since I have skated. My youngest daughter(25) decided she was going to get skates some months back. It immediately made me want them too. I have been skating as much as I can every since. I feel like a kid again & doesn’t even feel like exercise! Feels like a good time & I can’t wait to do it again! Thank you for all of you who upload videos! They’ve helped me so much!
You did amazing!!! I started skating again a few years ago but since quarantine, I started again. More serious about it now and love that it's so much more popular again. But you are doing great!!!
As a child I skated up and down the driveway for hours on end and that used to make me so happy. This video inspired me to buy some skates to honor my inner child. Thank you.
I LOVE the way you documented. I LOVE the way you had fun. I LOVE the amount of commitment you had. I LOVE everything about this video! Thank you for the inspiration!
Can I just say that nearly every fall you were looking down. If you keep your chin up you’ll be an expert in no time at all! You’ve got the moves, just pick up your head😊
Another benefit: you made new friends and are now a member of the skating community. Rollerblades became more & more populare due to Covid here in Germany as well :)
I’ve been wanting to learn for so long but I was worried I’d embarrass myself because skaters always seem so balanced and graceful. You got so good, so quickly and you seem to be having so much fun. You’ve deffo inspired me to be brave, even if I don’t have your coordination. 😅
I'm 40 and getting back into it. My daughter is 18 and just starting. She had rollerblades as a kid. We're excited to see so many people getting into it. Just nice to see people getting out and having simple fun❤.
Ohhhhh!! I enjoyed this video so much! We always see people already mastering something cool... but to see that it takes a lot of effort, dedication and time to do so, is soooo encouraging! Love this type of content! Thanks Sophie 🌱
the first 30 days are the toughest and ive seen so many people give up after only the first week because you want to be good but you are only starting out so EVERYTHING will be hard. I hope this video inspires people to realize that practice REALLY is key
Day 2 of learning how to skate and I fell on my butt, didn't hurt that much and I'm only practicing in a small area, but I'm going to try and stick with it because rollerskating is so beautiful and it seems so therapeutic ❤ This video inspires me so much I can't wait to have it down!
I watched this about a week ago and I’m not sure why I felt the need to come back and talk about how I felt. I watch all of Sophia’s videos, but when I saw the title of this one when it was posted, I instinctively avoided it and didn’t know why. Until I saw it recommended again weeks later and realised that what I felt was jealousy. Probably because the snippets of her roller skating I’ve seen from previous vlogs looked so fun, but I never considered that I could do it because where I live it’s not much of a thing (or so I think?). But after finally watching this video, it hit me that *nothing is stopping me from trying to skate*. Maybe there’s not much of a skating community here, but should that matter? I’m already stuck at home, and have a small but workable space to practice in, _and_ I can afford the equipment. It’s a splurge, no question, but why should I be bitter about something that I can do something about? So anyway, I’m getting my skates today and I could not be more excited :) I felt like sharing this on the off chance someone is actually in the same position as me. Take the leap and just go for it!
I've finally been practicing on my skates semi-consistently (like every couple of days) and started upgrading my equipment since I know I'm invested now. Your skate instructor's legs were so inspirational, I can feel myself getting stronger and love seeing professional skaters do their thing. This video was great, thank you for sharing your journey.
Nice work! great progress for only 30 days for sure. Did anyone else go "yikes" when they heard her friend telling her to fall wrist first though? Yeah, no, don't do that please. Falling safely should be #1 lesson, knees first, slide into it so you don't jar your back. Knees - Elbows - Wrists.
I didn't know that there was a 😂😂 *difference between rollerblading and roller skating until now! You look like a superstar by the end of day 30!* I'm more than positive you have inspired many people to buy a pair and try it themselves.
Damn you improved soooo fast, you had a great routine and didn't drop it just because it was difficult !!! Now I wanna start on learning a new skills myself thanks to you 😃
You are an inspiration!!! I just got some and stumbled on this video. I am now going to buy the ones you got. They look so much more flexible than the ones I got. You are doing amazing!!!
I am not sure why am I crying... I just feel sooo proud of you. I am learning, I have been on my skates for 5 days now, sometimes it is frustrating but I believe, one day, I will be able to moooove smoothly 🙌🏾👑thank you for showing us your progress
I used to rollerblade all of the time, some years back. It was truly one of the happiest times of my life. It's difficult to describe how much joy it brings. Watching your video truly makes me miss it and makes me want to get back into it again. This video was such a joy to watch. Probably my fav. video of yours to date. I can't wait to see more!! xox
This was so fun to watch! I'm learning how to ride a bike this June (I grew up rollerblading) so that I can take advantage of bike riding to/around the beach, and this was really encouraging & inspiring to watch. Keep it up!
Honestly Sophia, this is so inspiring and I am just in awe of your commitment/dedication to learning. I'm almost speechless! I'm glad you found something you enjoyed. I'm going to commit myself to learning a skill/something in 30 days
So excited you’re sort of the roller skating community! Love seeing your journey and how much it brings you the same feelings I had when I started 🥰🤗🙃🛼
Congratulations Sophia. I am 60 years old and I am thinking about picking up my first ever skates. I've thought about it for a while now and even though I have some trouble walking... ( Bad Hips ) I feel that the skates would give me the opportunity to exercise my legs while burning some of my unwanted belly fat. Wish me luck.
This is an older video so you might know this already but it's safer to fall knees, elbows then hands if you have to. You always want to avoid landing on your wrists because they're the most likely to get injured. Aim to fall forwards (we all fall, it's just part of it) but falling forwards is so much safer. 💙
Yeah I dislocated and broke my elbow from falling backwards onto my wrist, worst injury I've ever experienced 😅 Do the complete opposite of what I did and you will be fine
I think this is a very nice video! I am happy that skating came so easy to you, but I think Linda’s videos are better for beginners because they really show how difficult it can be getting started. You really see her fall and learn and it is very inspiring.
I really admire how much perseverance you have and am so happy for you that you've grown to love this new hobby.Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I personally love to skate and you've really inspired me to try doing it consistently and learn new maneuvers. Thank you for always inspiring me to grow ❤️❤️❤️
Yess! So nice you documented this. I mean day 1, i was like you are going to be a pro on the 4th day, so good! I took them out of the closet yesterday. Going to have another go after 2 years.
Having gladbladder remover in a few days your videos helped a lot. Loving that you skate too cause skating has changed my life and i hate that this pain gets in the way of my skating. Excited to progress in skating of this surgery helps
Well Done Sophia! It is amazing that you started a new hobby and clearly you are loving it. I hope that you have recovered fully from your injury. Stay safe and well x 👑💖🎊🎉💐
Bought my first skate because of this inspiring video. I actually hesitated for nearly a week because it cost quite a lot for a pair. But then i think, whats so bad about investing in myself? Saw this vid and totally checked out that cart!
I cannot believe you were already going backwards and doing transitions by day 2!!! You’re such a naturally talented skater. I didn’t learn to go backwards until day 3 at least!!
Soph this vid was so inspiring!! I totally resonated with never really having a hobby that I've picked up & really ran with and loved, and this totally inspired me to try roller skating for myself!! serious congrats on your progress & commitment to it, can't wait to see more!! 🤍😊
I've been mixing up "practice days" of doing more dance-type moves with expanding my range by adding distance (like running). I'm somehow slower on skates than I am running (and I'm a slow runner) because our neighborhood streets are so bad. It's great to see this kind of progress when focused on small-space skills.
I just recently got a pair of inline skates! I used to skate a lot when I was younger and I'm excited to pick it up again. I wanna get some safety gear before I start up again. Gotta be safe! I'm so happy to see more people skating again 🥰
Awesome video thanks for sharing good luck on your skating journey! I’m just starting out mines still waiting on my new roller skates to be delivered this week 😁😁😁 so excited 🤪
Hi Sophie. I decided to pick up skating because my granddaughter challenged me, lol. I had an elbow sprain, so I have had to stop for a few weeks. Now I am starting again, I can use this as a template for learning. Thanks!
you are making me want to buy some skates!! i loved this video, but then again, i love all of them. you are so inspirational (and couples that skate together stay together!!)
This was so fun and inspiring and oh my god! What a difference 30 days made! Incredible to see what doing something every day does, it actually kind a blew my mind. Amazing video, thanks for sharing! An absolute blast
Ваше видео очень вдохновляющее! now that i saw this, i really really wanna learn how 🥺 I’m scared but sophia makes it easier and so classy
I love your house, it's so beautiful and seems like the perfect set up for practising rollerskating
Yess! So nice you documented this. I mean day 1, i was like you are going to be a pro on the 4th day, so good! I took them out of the closet yesterday. Going to have another go after 2 years.
The choreography section is beautiful. It looked like you guys enjoyed it and it made me so happy!!
Having gladbladder remover in a few days your videos helped a lot. Loving that you skate too cause skating has changed my life and i hate that this pain gets in the way of my skating. Excited to progress in skating of this surgery helps
Omg how inspiring 😭 I can’t wait to try this too
This is soo sick. Sophia content is always top tier 😪❤️
This is awesome! The rollerblading community is a beautiful place to exist~
and 2 years laterrrrrrr ~ i just bought my pair of rollerskate, & fortunately i found your vid ^^ love it !!!
Love this!!! And I'm sending this to my wife as she's just starting out on quads. Replace those bushings/cushions instead of loosing the trucks
This was so inspiring to watch! Thank you for putting together this beautiful documentation of your journey!
Sophia and roller skates are meant to be!!!!! ever since the day we see you shuffling oh god 🙌
It's great to see this kind of progress when focused on small-space skills.
shufflin’ soph to skatin’ soph 🤩 we love to see it
I just started skating and picked up my new skates in the beginning of the month. Can’t wait to be as good as you!
If I could, I’d like this video 1,000x! Love the content, the editing and your progress. Congrats on your new passion, Sophia! So inspiring!
This is a really cool video format idea in general. Nice work! I'm sure digging through the footage was rewarding but also time consuming.
This was so fun and inspiring and oh my god! What a difference 30 days made! Incredible to see what doing something every day does, it actually kind a blew my mind. Amazing video, thanks for sharing! An absolute blast
Annabelle and now Sophie! Ugh my favs are doing something I’ve wanted to do for so long 😍
You made me want to start roller skating! Its so fun and I could see how dedicated you are with this new hobby.
Girl I just started skating and my ass is crying. I look like I just got a bbl for free. I can’t balance not move without holding anything and it’s really making scared. I don’t know whether it’s because of the surface I’m trying practice on but I’m going to try do it in the park surface. Anyways this is DAY1 of me skating and I’ll continue to document it on your page. Thank you for aspiring me:)))
