I'm almost the same skin tone and her, I also watch Anne Soul as she is also very close shade match and she does really good makeup looks for brown warm olive tones 😊
This was a great informative video and super helpful for all those warmer skin tones! I'm quite fair so I struggle with matching foundation to my skin tone as all the lighter foundations have a cold undertone making me look washed out and grey and the darker ones make me look orange. It looks like the make up industry have really become diverse so glad I watched your video before going out to purchase my foundation. Thanks for including the product names so clearly and talking about undertones! Your top 5 are brilliant I honestly couldn't pick one. Super excited to go foundation shopping now!
I agree with Arshia when she says that Aruba and Syracuse may look similar but they are not, just because Aruba has a slight olive undertone to it and just being someone who has parents from two different races I see how I would like to believe that yes, for most part I am almost like a 99% percent the same skin tone as Arshia but still not, there is a slight olive in my undertone tone that actually makes Aruba look great on me so the 'no short-cut' trick to having the perfect shade is to try before I buy! Sephora gives you samples if you may like so try them and you so you may use the links Arshia provides in her description box to support the content she provides us with. There are some shades that will match up for me absolutely with the ones Arshia uses so it's great guidance to narrow down but some will be off for me just like Aruba is off for her. So try your shade to know which one looks best on you! Aruba looks great on me, 3.05 smash box also looks great on me but NC42 looks off! So not every shade that one person is using may suit you best. I hope this helps you before you end up being stuck with investing $40+ in a foundation that you may not lets say end up using as often as an Influencer and is not probably not even your shade I guess.
I have the shade 3.18 in the smashbox foundation and as a brown girl with olive undertones it is the best match and it is long lasting like stays the same even after 10 hours of wear in the heat and humidity, great for dry skin and love the soft matte finish it leaves

I’ve got both, I would say both are neutral tones but Syracuse has a hint of yellow. I’m similar to her skin tone too and I find Aruba grey on me especially where I have pigmentations.

Smashbox Studio Hydrating Foundation doesn’t have a 3.05 foundation shade. I am same shade as you in Lancôme, so I wanted to try Smashbox but I couldn’t find 3.05. I'm at a serious crossroads. My doctors wanted my vitamin D up the natural way. So my skin is way different. I'm extremely neutral when I'm pale. But then when I tan I have a I don't even know gold or warm Olive undertone. But then anything that is cool looks pink on my skin. And sometimes warm can go Orange. I'm 44 definitely have some aging on my skin. Prefer more hydrating foundations. I don't care about having full coverage. I would rather you see my skin. The more makeup you have in your face with wrinkles the more you can see them. I almost wonder if I want to try the Chantecaille because it seems to work on every age. But then, do I really want to spend 40 and a foundation that's going to kind of fit in the range of my skin but not really? I can't put in my foundation to find a foundation because I'm a whole nother color than I used to be. Once the sun kisses my skin. It's like mahogany. I instantly turn brown. Within the first few days of the sun kissing my skin of course I have a little pink Rosy tone to my skin but I don't burn. Nope. I haven't been this color since my twenties, living in Florida. And even then I barely wore foundation. I didn't have to. When I go into the stores, they don't have the foundations that I want to try, and here I am playing the guessing game. This is so hard. My husband always gives me a nice little chunk of money during Mother's Day to have my makeup fun. Well I truly need foundation. But I don't want to spend all of my money on just foundations. This is so difficult.
THANK YOU for your videos! you should try clinique foundation, i have the same skin tone as you and I've tried a couple of the ones you mentioned, the smash box was heavy and made me break out. i've also tried the lancome and found it was hella expensive for me. the clinique one is light and good for sensitive skin, and it offers good coverage. the colors are amazing, i use honey.
