What sort of changes have you made, or would like to see made, with Ironsworn?

One reason I fell in love with the Ironsworn system is the mechanics are so open and accessible for mods.
The Equal to/higher ActionDie is a no brainer for more merciful roll ratios, but you have to get pedantic in cases of a Match, when the Challenge Dice are equal. Quite simply, there's no such thing as a Weak Hit Match; it to be either a Strong Hit or a Miss for it to count.
Another roll mod I use is on a Nat 1 & 6 on the Action Die. Like a Crit success/fail roll. If you roll a nat 1, you lose -1 Momentum. When you roll a nat 6, you gain +1 Momentum.

Well said! I think the level of ease to modify a game to match our individual tastes is a key indicator of a successful game system. Computer games like Skyrim would long die out in popularity if not for mods, and D&D 5e has had staying power for a similar reason.
I also really appreciate Ironsworn in addition to its flexibility because it was my first system that introduced me to solo roleplaying in a natural way. Shawn Tompkin deserves any and all accolades for his creation and contribution to the hobby. :)

I was a contributor to Ironsworn Delve, and strongly recommend that you use it in conjunction with the original Ironsworn. It adds a lot to the game.

Nice video. I like that this video gets right to the point without a lot of fluff.
I think it's worth mentioning that another way to modify the game, particularly in the way of genre, is through the oracles.

Some geography challenges would be interesting I think. Beyond just random encounters or slowing travel based on terrain I think. Something like a blizzard rolls in and forces someone to take shelter which could lead to meeting new peoples. I think the landscape should be as much a character as the other people characters.

The match instead of exceeding the challenge roll is the same as the suggested rule to increase each stat by +1 if you find the game too gritty.
When I play Ironsworn, I use the Starforged Legacy tracks and Moves. I even added a Battles Legacy track for combat victories. This helps accelerate the experience gains a bit. Starforged, effectively, is Ironsworn 2.0 and is perfectly compatible. I am also tinkering with difficulty modifiers and increasing a d6 to a d8 action die if an asset/path/etc. is completely filled and using that asset/path in game.

Meet OR exceed the challenge dice was THE rule that I always change.

I think the reason why it's designed so that you have to beat the challenge dice is so that you always have a chance at rolling a weak hit (one 10) or a miss (double 10) since you can never get an action roll higher than 10. If you want to have the percentages match "meet or exceed" while keeping the chance of failure on any roll, simply give your character a +1 to all stats.

What I added into my campaign is 3 oracles, one for randomised waypoints, one for random encounters and one for Divine Guidance...
I play a tale of the last people in Ironlands who believe in a God, so lack of interaction with said God mechanically made no sense in the story...
I also decided that "Varou" in my world will not just be werewolves, but instead generally the animal folk, which includes cat people, bird people and wolf people... I just need better names for the three...
I might also add an oracle for getting ill, to allow something more flavorful to happen when you drop to 0 health outside of combat and assets about guns would help me with adding dwarfs I believe... Thank you for that idea!

Very good video and very good points you have there..
what I want to try is play this system in Glorantha world. Take example little area of glorantha and at least use some glorantha region take animals and monster that is living that area in gloranta. Not sure is this even possible but just a thought..

Here's a homebrew I came up with (it's not fully fleshed-out): My character is an "ironcaste", a warrior merchant, with a cast-iron medallion with the symbol of his clan on it. He has the Empowered asset through that and his fair-trading reflects on the honor of his clan. Through this, he can roll on a Custom Trade Goods table to acquire Trade Goods--similar to the Wealth on Fortune Hunter asset. These are partly for narrative, but can be used to purchase some assets such as a horse, armor, or some weapons. And the abstracted value of these Trade Goods varies with the narrative: Timber is not valuable in a forest settlement, Seaglass is not valuable in a coastal community.
The main benefit I've found from it is increasing the Fear of Loss in my game. This newly minted Ironcast is honor bound to trade fairly, interested in increasing his wealth through trading honorably, and increasing his clan's honor by trading fairly far from home. But he's also always carrying his wealth with him so the fear of thieves and bandits is heightened.

I am thinking of creating items that the PCs can have. Each item shall have a different ability modifying or adding to relevant stats and can be used in certain circumstances to mitigate poor die rolls. As such I have not designed any such item. But I am looking too. Please comment if this is suitable for Ironsworn as I am new to it.
Also, I have made it a point to increase any one stat by 1 for every 10 experience points. This would represent my characters levelling up.

I think this is VERY doable. There is an alternate rule in the book that allows stat increases instead of unlocking a new ability or resource. Doing both may be worthwhile. The trickiest part will be confirming that the stat bonuses don't get so high as to eliminate the risk of failure. (I wouldn't let the total bonus exceed +5, as even the worst roll will compare to the average on the d10's.) Possible alternatives to play with may be able to upgrade certain rolls to a d8 instead, but again you may run into a math issue. Either way, try it and see what happens! :)

The new magical rituals you are suggesting seem to be way overpowered, it would not make sense to pick any vanilla rituals or even other assets, if such options were available. They just give way too many bonuses and not enough risks. For instance if you pick pyromancy you will just basically have +1 damage and +1 to rolls through the whole fight. It also seems like maxing out wits would be a go-to.

Thank you for your feedback! I had considered lowering those numbers, but the game is relatively difficult as it is anyway. I took Lightbringer as the template for many of those elemental rituals. Perhaps lowering to a +4/+2 instead may help, or adding a deeper penalty for failure? I'll keep tweaking it. :)
