Dale Carnegie is an American writer, he wrote many self-help books about how to survive in this cruel society, like 'how to win friends and influence people', love life etc. this song represent someone in stressful state, and in this case that all they can do is drinking and smoking, hope to wash all their pain away by doing that instead of interacting with someone. I think the reason Coogie wrote the title Carnegie because (using the writer's surname), even after the person in this song read all those self-help books, it didn't help him with his anxiety and loneliness.
