Valentine's tale about his dog loving shellfish reminded me of the first time I took my Jack Russell terrier out foraging for razor clams. He was a reasonable gun dog, picking up birds bar pigeons. So thought I'd take him to the beach hunting. He would happily chase fish & pull mussels off rocks & drop them in the bucket. That first time after razor clams he intently watched as I poured strong saline solution down the razor key holes. I was busily pulling the spoots (Scottish term for razor clams) out of their holes as they came up. I turned 'round & the dog was pulling a big spoot from the sand. Once free the spoot started flailing its foot around & this freaked the dog out - he was holding on for grim death, but trying to keep the rest of his face away from the waggling foot. I was helpless with laughter & got a wet beam end from falling back onto the wet sand. The two of us greedily tucked into the ones I cooked on the beach over firewood. What a simple wonderful dish, I'd be a proper trencher-man if this was put in front of me.
good to c u back Warner... awesome video, dish looks simple but also looks damn delicious, somehow a glass of Light Red is screaming to wash the dish down...
You should really do the “Life on toast” thing , maybe invite Sir David Attenborough as a taster, because good entertaining telly is is a rare thing these days?

Can I ask where you get your bacon..... It's really hard to find bacon in one piece, let alone quality bacon. I don't do online!
