Regarding the other games you mentioned which had terrible launches, No Man's Sky had an intriguing premise where you can explore any one of millions of procedurally-generated planets and Cyberpunk 2077 was a new project from a studio, CD Projekt RED, that had already garnered goodwill from players due to the Witcher series plus it had an unusual cyberpunk city setting. Meanwhile, Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown, for people who hadn't played the previous TDU games, just looked like another open world racing game without the visual pizazz of a Forza Horizon game, and many of us who were fans of the previous TDU games were put off by things like battle passes, the lack of houses, and, of course, the lack of an offline single-player mode.
What frustrates me a lot is how no man sky and Cyberpunk were games trying to do something new to cativate fans. TDUSC fans already existed and they wanted the same old game experience! A simple remake would be enough to sell, just with better graphics and driving physics. Why complicate so much to lose money
There are 2 ways to make a sequel. 70% new ideas 30% old or 60% old 40% new. I believe TDUSC shouldve done the latter, given the market research. We wanted tdu 2 updated to modern standards with the ideas expanded upon. More types of houses, deeper customization, better character cust, more editions of vehicles, and so on. They over engineered it and it just makes me sad lol
Why is solar crown look like is was built to be mainly offline mode but nacon had the aducity to push out solar crown as online only. Tosay way too risky
The dev/ publisher lack and limited communications and under estimating the solar crown server problems. Also having a racinf game that is always has to played online is a major red flag and worrysome for me
and they probably spent millions on marketing alone, hiring the cars to film the adverts, flying youtubers in and putting them up in 5 star hotels to promote the game, printing thousands of t shirts with the solar crown logo on them for the developers to wear, lighting for their little developer vlogs, licensing the cars. Such a waste all because they're so pretentious and think they're above everyone else
I honestly wonder how much of this failure has to do with Nacon vs KT Racing, like if Nacon had other plans for the game which is what ultimately killed it.
9:23 That's the game I wanted in the background! Beautiful women and lifestyle stuff without waking ruining it! Yes, I didn't buy the game because they went woke with their characters. And now, witnessing the technical issues, I'm happy I dodged the bullet. Go woke, go broke.
they just have no idea what they are doing, the solar pass is abysmal and the audi etron weighs 600kg more than its supposed to, not to mention the recent patch DID NOTHING im still getting like 20-30 unstable fps and ps3 graphics on a ps5 with amazing internet
At this point, this game needs an offline patch and NOW!!!!!!!!. People shouldn't have to require an Internet or server connection to play TDUSC, or ANY game for that matter. Outside of MMO's like Fortnite and Apex of course.
So I'm a huge racing gaming fan. I literally make racing games for the Xbox and have since 2018. In 1996 I bought a pc just so I could buy indycar 2. I can't think of many racing games I haven't played or even bought. But TDSC is one I haven't bought. I was excited for it before release then I saw all the server issues. I'm not a big online racing fan as every online racing game becomes wreckfest. So basically I haven't bought it as I don't want to play online and I certainly don't want to have to sit around for a few minutes waiting for people to join (wreck) my race. If this had offline mode I would buy it tomorrow.
Definitely, this to me was always a single player game but bumping into people in free roam or casino was a nice touch… I’d trade that for an offline mode in a heartbeat but… I barely bump into players anyway haha You did the smart thing and held off.. unfortunately me and many others were too loyal to the name and pre ordered 😂
yea it is dying, unless they fix it, for instance today i played a race for the first time on last 48 hours, at i got 1st place but i won only 13K????? why!!!!! there system is bankrupt, also 26K for winning is little compare to car prices, R.I.P
All of this could have been saved by a proper game-tester at the beginning. Games need critical game-testers that have leadership qualities in a company. Game-testers that can tell the boss what to do without getting in trouble for it.
At the moment you can technically still boot it up and drive around in it. I class it dead when they turn off the always online servers and it's as dead as MJ. But yes, the game itself is a dead game haha
Yup, I give it one month, Tops, before Nacon cuts and runs and throws the Players to the Wolves with only Class Action available to Try and get their money back.

Excellent digest of the info available and nice punditry too. Thanks bro.

Exactly that bro! They got the sick trailers, branding on super cars etc etc but then there’s no wedge left to actually make the game 😂
The only way to save this game is to remove the live service and make it optional.
I agree, but I bet that’s gonna cost an absolute bomb they can’t afford to shell out
I honestly wonder how much of this failure has to do with Nacon vs KT Racing, like if Nacon had other plans for the game which is what ultimately killed it.
Very good point.. I’m not actually too sure who I should be blaming 💀😂😂
I'm actually pretty hyped about this game but the fact that I can't even play the demo killed all of it.

The Solar pass I honestly think made the whole situation worse 😂😂
The only thing they have done right is their trailers, it looks like they must have spent most of their budget on trailers

I'm glad I didn't buy the game. I rely on content creators to get me hyped. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case.
just give me a good single player game i dont care about live service garbage

My Moza R5 bundle is badly supported and makes the game essentially unplayable with that wheel. That's why the game is dying, to me at least.
That’s so bad lol, T300 is alright but if I’m spending a thick bit of wedge on a wheel like that I’d expect it to be flawless
The game is dead, they went the wrong way, they've gone too far down the always online rabbit hole. Nacon will just pull the plug.
