Hello Doctor, i have some questions for you regarding c1 misalignments. Is this something that someone dealing with its symptoms should most definitely see an orthopedic surgeon for? If so What would be the course of action to correct something like this? Would you ever recommend an upper cervical chiro for such a problem or would that be a bad idea? And lastly, why are so many doctors out there clueless on this problem? Or is it a false lie sold by chiropractors? I myself have essentially lost my life for going onto 7 months now dealing with a myriad of symptoms, some neurological. My PCP refused to refer me to a orthopedic surgeon and is insistent that in depressed and full of anxiety completely ignoring all my neurological symptoms, i racked up an ungodly bill at the hospital and all they seemed to care about was treating my rapid heart. I gave in and went to see an upper cervical chiro who showed me via xray the misalignment i do have apparently, as well as the c1 spinous process essentially slammed into the back of my skull. At this point im so lost as what to do as this has been so debilitating.
