In a series for the BBC News website, Celebrities and news-makers are grilled by Matthew Stadlen in precisely five minutes. In this video, Matt talks to Keith Allen.
I wouldn’t say I met Keith Allen but I observed him once. It was in Leeds about twenty years ago at club kicking out time. I was about to get in a cab when I noticed him. I said to the cabbie, ‘oh look there’s Keith Allen’. The cabbie said (deliberately loudly), ‘Who the fuck is Keith Allen?!’ Keith looked over at the cabbie and said, ‘Who the fuck are YOU?!’ So yeah that’s my Keith Allen anecdote. I never said it was a great one.
As an entertainer myself he saw me performing once and booked me for his 60th birthday party at Lily’s house what a great time, lots of actors and celeb were there, he’s a great bloke who takes no shit, he was also in Eddie The Eagle movie with Hugh Jackman, natural actor, writer director and performer.
The interviewer went ' all over the shop ' to which Keith most quickly & comfortably answered all his question with relaxed ease. A very chilled chap to learn from. He be a quality geezer, to sink a few beers with in the east end pubs of London.
5 minutes with Keith Allen is far too long. I got to 1.50 though, which is a lot longer than I thought I could. I'd like to shit in his hat, but he hasn't got one.
It's odd...I've only ever seen Keith Allen in Trainspotting and Shallow Grave (and the Vindaloo video!?) but feel like I know him for more...why is this lol? In those movies I swear his screen time is literally no more than 2 minutes in total...impressive to stretch out a career based on 2 cameo roles. Or am I missing something? And I knew him long before he became 'Lily's dad' so to speak, so it wasn't that...
I’ve just seen him as a consultant in a hospital drama called Bodies on Netflix. He is great in that and one of the main characters. Also felt I recognised him- think he played the killer in The Pembrokeshire Murders too.

Typical Keith.
@Bobby Sternlicht sorry for wasting your time
@Bobby Sternlicht well I suppose we are conversing on a ‘5 minutes with Keith Allen’ video so you might have a point.

All middle-aged white men morph into Keith Allen after 47. I keep mistaking my dad for K.A.

He’s teetotal mate
Keith Allen is mentioned in Stephen Fry's autobiography, i have found him intriguing ever since i read it
Saw a clip of him being abusive to an indian man saying he has a vindaloo on his shoulder not a chip.
Why didn't you become a journalist? Because i am not good enough along with everything else i do in life.
Is he the guy who made the Diana documentary?
He must spend every taxi ride talking to passengers about his famous daughter, lol.

I always thought Keith Allen would be cool in real life like Rik Mayall, but he's a bit of a 'luvvie' isn't he?
Keith desperately disappointed it’s only 5 minutes…….
