I am a former foster kid. I aged out 3 years ago. I’m graduating from college in May. It’s been a long uphill battle.

I realized that, that is what I've been seeking. No I'm not from the foster system or anything like that....and I am a giver. Almost to a fault. But because of your testimony I now have a little more insight into who I am.

Beautiful story! It makes me cry listening to his story. I cry with sadness for the children abused in the foster care system. It's a damn disgrace to the Child Care system. It also makes me cry with happiness to know that he's made something positive of himself and that he and his partner is caring for children, despite what system says, that because they're homosexual, that they're gay, that they're incapable of providing a loving, caring home for children. If only all foster homes cared for children like this couple is doing. A home should be a place where one can feel safe.

I saw this video last year and it made me cry. I was a foster kid as well so everything he was saying hit home. I have a song on my page that I wrote specifically because of this video and the generosity of these men. I hope Rob doesn't mind being in a song... lol.

I just searched foster care and this was one of the thing's that came up. My life ever since I got out of foster care has been a struggle but I'm working so hard to open my business and help my foster brother's and sister's. it's been really difficult but I promised myself I would open my business and not only write my story but make a difference thanks for everything your doing I can't wait to join the fight because I remember very well putting my thing's in trash bags but no one ever reports on all the hardship that foster kid's go through especially after were on our own you see all these pro and anti plan parenthood people fighting but non of them ever does a damn thing to help foster kid's who need help non and the whole thing just pisses me off.

I was in foster care and hauling my stuff around in trash bags made me feel terrible like I didn't matter Idk kind of hurt in ways I could not see them but as a adult I can see where the pain was and the effects small things sometimes are very significant

Simon Catt I’m sorry you had to go through the system. I can’t imagine the loneliness you had to endure. It’s very sad and I agree that this man and his partner are really caring and loving people. I only wish that we had more people like them to care for and love the children they adopt. Best wishes to you!!

I’m a past foster child...I’m still struggling mentally to find my place I would love to meet you and hear encouragement from both...I’ve tried everything...I’m still fighting...because it’s survival that’s all I was taught but no one taught me more. I want to a advocate just like you.

Such an inspiring story Rob and yes everyone needs to feel they’re loved and you have done just that for these kids. Your family is beautiful in every walks of life. Such inspirational message shinning through your heart. What you have with the bag program it’s amazing because that’s all you hear about when these children come into foster care with their trash bags. My husband and I are at the end of the process of becoming Licensed Foster Parents and here in Pa I want to make that change as well. Many Blessings for you and your wonderful family.
Absolutely wonderful family! I was never wanted by my foster careless parents but at least I was wanted by my wonderful natural parents (one of which unfortunately was addicted to alcohol). Trash bags are just one way of making children feel worthless. I was sent to a week long camp each year by foster parents who put my things in a trash bag. Never really thought much of it because I was so happy to get away from them for a week.
