I've never met him but this song randomly came up on the radio here in Duluth Minnesota yesterday and I'm so glad it did. I'm a professional songwriter (I make literally dozens of dollars a month in the mailbox!) and I am now obsessed with Mark. Come to Duluth! We got gold up in these here hills! I moved here from California and haven't looked back except to get my stuff out of storage. They love us southern folk and we even have a river called Mississippi. In fact they invented it up here!
If i would be a movie maker i would defo use this tune . What a hidden Gem ...! I suppose you have to be a father to appreciate this kind of the music and ironically those fathers who like this tune don,t have the time rave about it so it stays low key, but never mind , its their lose :) . Thank you Mark for the wonderful moments you gave me with your song , i have been returning to this tune for several years now . Thank you - have good life and i hope you to meet you in heaven again :))))
im sure a lot of people watching this have met this amazing man. i got to see him live at the levitt shell then actually got to meet him - he's definitely a character..sometimes i really love Memphis.
Mark I've been watiching RUclipss for 500+ performers doing showcases at Fp;l Alliance next month in New Orleans. I found this song by yiou and stayed with it. You are on my "must" see/hear list for FAI 2020. Good job!
Got to see Mark Edgar Stuart last night at a small, intimate show in Buda, TX last night. What a gifted singer songwriter! And a genuine, down-to-earth guy. If you get the chance, go see him!
I didnt cry. No I didnt cry. I cried like a bitch. Goddamn thats sad. It hurts so bad. And my dad's alive and well. I dont know what not having him could be like and I dont want to. Thats scary shit man.
REMOTE CONTROL I heard a song in my car, It made me feel like a child I turned it up real loud, to the top of the dial With all of my lungs, I sang all the words I was thinking of you in my favorite verse I remember the day it was always me On the arm of your chair, we would watch TV Never knowing the score, I was five years old I was happy to be your remote control.... That was way before this technical age Rabbit ears and tin foil was all we needed to play Always looking at you, I was on command You would give me a que, and I would always land On my feet I could fly across the carpeted plain Change the channel for you, I was back again I never asked what for, I did what I was told I was your right hand and your remote control Your remote control..... I was always in tune with every show you liked Every Sunday with you was always black and white When the credits would roll I knew what to do If the static was on I'd kick the side of the tube Mom would pop us some corn, we'd make it a meal I was in your arms and I was always thrilled Just to be with there you and that big bowl I was happy to be your remote control Don't go away, I'll be right back The turn of a phrase was the news in a flash I would say it to you and make you laugh You thought it was cute but I was growing up fast Forward the reel, I'm driving home That same old chair is now an empty throne The picture is sad, the volume is low I wish I could be your remote control Your remote control...

Good song about happy childhood moments. Thanks for the memories.
As lovely, stark, and real as it gets. Thanks for capturing a place in time so dear to so many of us.

Years later I still don’t know how this song never BLOWED UP. Great song my man. Checked out some of your other stuff over these years and dig it.
Heard you on the Tony Kornheiser show. GREAT SONG DUDE! Makes me sob like a 5 year old boy sitting on my grandfathers lap.
Very cool! Very nostalgic! Well filmed.
Awesome song! A friend sent this to me on father's day, damn near a tear jerker

REMOTE CONTROL
I heard a song in my car, It made me feel like a child
I turned it up real loud, to the top of the dial
With all of my lungs, I sang all the words
I was thinking of you in my favorite verse
I remember the day it was always me
On the arm of your chair, we would watch TV
Never knowing the score, I was five years old
I was happy to be your remote control....
That was way before this technical age
Rabbit ears and tin foil was all we needed to play
Always looking at you, I was on command
You would give me a que, and I would always land
On my feet I could fly across the carpeted plain
Change the channel for you, I was back again
I never asked what for, I did what I was told
I was your right hand and your remote control
Your remote control.....
I was always in tune with every show you liked
Every Sunday with you was always black and white
When the credits would roll I knew what to do
If the static was on I'd kick the side of the tube
Mom would pop us some corn, we'd make it a meal
I was in your arms and I was always thrilled
Just to be with there you and that big bowl
I was happy to be your remote control
Don't go away, I'll be right back
The turn of a phrase was the news in a flash
I would say it to you and make you laugh
You thought it was cute but I was growing up fast
Forward the reel, I'm driving home
That same old chair is now an empty throne
The picture is sad, the volume is low
I wish I could be your remote control
Your remote control...
i'm feeling the lyrics.. Nice job!
