Tears of joy. Thought this loving story was lost. It has been 70 years since l heard it last. Words cannot tell you how happy you have made me. It is a peaceful joy lacking in the world around me now. Many blessings to you and the remaining handful of our people. Praying our children will find their way back home.
I am dashkeen, but I spent many a summer in White River. I remember well my friends and family. Adam Lupe was on tribal council. Most of the family has died. I remember the girl Bouncy. She was very nice. Good memories.
Almost tears. My grandfather was Mescalero. My knowledge feels so broken. But I know Apache are a strong people. Thank you for sharing this. We have all been scattered like wind. I am hopeful one day a return to the North brings some wisdom.
Further your knowledge and grow with your culture and maybe you can share your experience with others interested with our people and customs and stories.

I am from the Cibecue Apache from the White Mountain Apache Tribe in Cibecue, Arizona. Father, Eagle Clan, Mother, Butterfly Clan. Hence, I claim the Butterfly Clan. Women lineage is claimed, and is dominant. Thank you for sharing my people's history, Steve. I appreciate it. Come visit the Mogollon Monster in AZ sometimes!! 😄👣👍 P/S I speak fluent Apache, English is my second language. I believe it is referred to as Athabasca.
So happy younger generations are learning their language, stories and way of being. Also, most all creation stories start with the mud/dirt. Think about it, people that didn't have access to each other, ultimately, have the similar creation stories. It's truly amazing. 🤍💙
Hello from Scotland. I have sat through tears and listened to your tenderness, your passion and your love of your people and respect you have for the Creator. It has truly touched my heart. I was sent to your channel from a Canadian Hunter/Guide called Steve Isdahl who has, over the past two years that I've viewed his channel, shown nothing but true respect to the true people of North America. Steve has many friends that are First Nation folks and over time they have come to share their stories with him. Some of the stories are uplifting and flowing with wisdom but many are sad stories. Stories that have made me weep for your people. I've come away from this beautiful recording feeling smaller but also feeling better settled within myself as I am very much in tune with nature myself in my daily life. I thank you for taking the time to record this for us all. Many, many thanks and blessings are being sent your way from me. I wish you peace, always.
Really well done video. If you aren’t a documentary filmmaker you should really consider pursuing it. I think it is very important to keep telling these stories so they never get lost. Great job and keep making videos!!!
Thank you so much for giving a view into your great culture...you can be proud of your ancestors and the way the lived...sacred life in harmony with nature...with animals...you are the owner of this land...we all know it...we know that with the Europeans a big catastrophe happenend to you. I hope you can heal from this Trauma...and please keep your language and all the ceremonies, the stories of wisdom alive. I wish you all the best and lots of love to all of your people...from Germany... (where you have lots of friends)
I have a new found respect for the beliefs of the Apache Indians and to hear their creation story is to be enlightened by a peaceful feeling. I send all my respect and admiration to all those that hold this near and dear to their hearts. 100% unconditional love sent from me to all.💚💙💜💛💗💟.
Diolch(Thankyou) for sharing your story with me. It is a privilege to be able to listen to you. You have the most beautiful culture on this earth. As a navajo i understand majority of hes words . Only a few letters are substituted for different letter and if you look past it becomes clear. The oral teaching of the navajo is very similiar.
No, thank you sir for sharing this small portion of your knowledge and what you were taught and there is power in the words you speak. I can feel the power from your words, I only wish I had more time to learn more from others that you spoke of. Again, thank you.
@ushima_ Are you familiar with the following book: Amerindian Rebirth - Reincarnation Belief Among North American Indians and Inuit. The book is focused on reincarnation and the concepts of self identity, kinship, religion, cosmology, resiliency, and change among native North American peoples from the time of contact until the present day. The case studies show a wide variety of belief's around reincarnation. Like same clan re-birth and next life identification of specific individuals. Male and female life times Most of them believe that rebirth happens within one year and that identifying marks such as birth marks - or marks given a dying person can help with the identification process. Your reply sounds similar to reincarnation quote its born into another reality. Every non white group of people have belief in reincarnation, they just have there own way of expressing it like the version of it you explained.
@ushima_ Curious bro if the following is accurate or not: . The Hopi concept of death and the afterlife is also deeply connected with their entire cosmic understanding. “Afterlife” is not the best way to describe the Hopi’s sense of what happens after death; it is more a continuation of a very long cycle. The Hopi don’t explicitly talk of reincarnation but the general belief is that people are born back into this world to continually take part in the immense continuity of humankind. working its way through seven worlds in seven successive universes for an eventual forty-nine states of existence. Is that about right? or not? Just interested on a personal note. By the way thanx for responding appreciate ya brah.
They are. The corn pollen is very sacred to both of us. We have been influenced by the Northern Athabaskan People. Our Thank you's sound the same and Kets have a similar linguistics in Diné. The Inuit-Eskimo-Ket are the same and Mongolians see them as cousins linguistically.
Stories, by their nature, aren't truth. And Indians have shown themselves to be expert storytellers. Maybe someday humans will realize the value of the truth - truth that can be proved and benefits mankind instead of tall tales.

I feel like this culture is so similar to Navajo culture.
That is because both derive from the Athabaskan people and the similarities are in the languages as well as traditions.
