Justin Jefferson signs extension, Brou ‘adores’ Aaron Rodgers’ outlook | NFL | FIRST THINGS FIRST

- Aaron Rodgers said he is 90% himself and 10% “unsure what’s going on with my body”. He also said that “if I didn’t think (the New York Jets) could win a Super Bowl and I could win MVP, I wouldn’t be playing.” Chris Broussard loves this mindset, and Nick Wright and Kevin Wildes react to the extension of Justin Jefferson by the Minnesota Vikings.

this segment arguably elevated brou to national treasure status
Wildes keeps falling for it, while steadily saying Brou is a bad actor. 😆
"If you consistently mislead with your words, I'm going to give less credibility to your words." - Nick
I wish more people felt that way in our world.
rodgers gives the media a taste of their own medicine
This is nicks career strategy
Rodgers was never misleading anyone with this though that’s the problem. He never at any point in 2023 said he was 100%. He said if the Jets were in playoff contention by Christmas he was going to play. He would play while not being 100%. He literally wasn’t trying to mislead anyone 🤣
The media and government are the #1 actors who mislead with their words.
Jamarr and CD are laughing all the way to the bank 😂😂
CeeDee gonna be STEALING money. Time to upgrade the condo in Cabo. He can’t wait to get there after the regular season is done.
Wildes holding it in killed me
The argument with Jefferson is bad. He’s not your run of the mill first round receiver, he’s a hall of famer (talent wise). If there were 4-5 MHJ level talents every year, it would be different, but there isn’t, so it’s not. Last 2 NFC Super Bowl teams have rookie QBs surrounded with paid weapons - it’s actually advantageous.
Hurts wasnt a rookie though. Well in a sense he was. 2nd year QB
The Vikes hate is real
Nick Wright just throws hot takes out there for clicks dude is a class A clown
jj might be the exception, but Imo teams are overpaying alot right now at QB and WR, but im not sure, im very interested to see how it goes for them.
@@quintonbackhand2519 This is what I think his point was, but he used the complete wrong player. If the bengals paid Tee Higgins 25-30 AAV, that would be a better argument.
Wildes, I know you’re on your burner accounts reading this, but you’re not alone! This is the first time in a LONG TIME I’ve been douped by brou! That was A+ on Brous part, and you giggling afterwards for a minute made me laugh. Nobody on television comes close to the clown, the uncle, and the sarcastic nerd.
The WR market is crazy
It’s going to turn into the RB market
@@dillMANbaby been saying this for years
why keep paying more and more and more for WRs every year when there's more and more and more top level pro ready WRs coming out of the draft every year? this is exactly what happened with RBs lol
Nooo. Horrible take. Wrs are more marketable than rbs and they share fame with QBs . Unless Rbs start running routes like a #3 guy , there market will always be down. I’m not a Brady fan but I can name his top 3 targets every year he won. I know maybe 2 rbs (blunt and Faulk )
@@dreame6397being marketable has nothing to do with building a team under the salary cap. And I bet no wide receiver Brady ever had was ever paid in the top 20 of all non-QB players.
@@dillMANbaby that’s where I disagree. The NFL has nothing to do with winning titles. In fact most owners don’t give a damm. Winning rings matters most to coaches and players. And with only 1 team that wins every year, focusing on building a team is idiotic because now you have a starless team and getting bounced in the playoffs. The Cowboys have like 2 playoff wins since 95, yet they are the most valuable franchise in sports. This market has never seen a winning Dallas team, yet sells are the highest around the league.
And if your star Qb throws a pass to a guy, he’s more famous than a guy he hands it off to.
Rofl I love Brou. “Nikola! Get me a sandwich!!!!”

Look, I am a Lions fan, so I loathe Aaron Rodgers with all my heart, but Nick honestly puts my hate to shame. Bro is a top-shelf, dyed in the wool, certified A-Rod hater. It's so over the top that you kind of have to respect it.
i think he’s hurt over all the years he spent vouching for aaron being better than brady lol
I dont think he is wrong, though. Rodgers is old. Other than Brady, no other QB this old has done anything of note.
He was a hardcore Brady hater due to age as well he’s pretty much on pace. And since rodgers is NO Brady he actually has a pretty solid take there. Rodgers playoff failures the past decade have been almost dak Prescott levels. It’s not crazy to doubt him atp.
Rodgers is done. And I'm a die hard packer. He was not good his last yr in green bay..atleast not Rodgers standards good . He has no oline still.....and spent a yr off due to injury and still clearly isn't healed.
Honestly it seemed like Nick took a hard turn on him during the pandemic and Rodgers antivaxx response. He started to hate him personally and finding any off the field stuff he could to be negative. Hope Nick’s got his 9th booster, classic 2 on Rodgers part lol
Love Nick's analysis on WR market
I love Cogent Analysis, The Mayor of Fair and Mr. Consistency.
It's amazing going back and watching Nick's Rodgers takes pre Mahomes and since Covid. Night and Day
we can see your comments. You melt down whenever Nick mentions Rodgers. That's more telling
@@johnnybgoode8104 not really. It's just funny seeing how hard he rides a take either way
He used to have a little sense
I bet Nick tried to get him to come on the show and he turned it down that's why he hate him now😂
Rogers has changed for the worse. It checks out. I also used to like Rogers more until he started acting like farve at the end.
I strongly agree with Nick on how to build a team.
“MR. CONSISTENCYYYYYYYYYYYY!!” Lmao
I agree with nick about the wr market
2 mill per game, 60 mins in a game. Justin jefferson makes 33,333 dollars a minute. Anyways rodgers says this shut every year who cares man
Alot of money bro
It's not about just the game tho. Surely ur not that stupid u think nfl players just show up and play? Yes regardless it's alot of money but ur math is way off.
and on average 30 minutes for offense. 66,666 dollars a minute in that case😭
That discounts all the practice time travel time and workouts. Still a ton of money tho
Thank you Nick for calling Wildes an idiot. I've been saying that for a while.
People forget Brou has a IMBD...bonafide actor!!
I'm so happy Justin Jefferson signed today. 4 years 140 million , 110 million guaranteed, and he got 88 million upfront today. Transferred to his accounts! 💰💰💵 Well deserved!
0:20 😂😂😂😂 Brou. I love you
We need a compilation of Brou doing this through the years.
I'd agree with nick if we were talking about a wr2 but a top wr like jj has more impact than any other position.
JJ had over a thousand yards last year while missing 7 games and not having a qb. JJ is the one of very few guys in the league you pay. He's the best in the league at his position.
GOT EMMMM 😂😂😂😂
Love to see SF put him on the IR in game one!
Jefferson is different. Stays humble and hungry. Lot like Rice.
You can absolutely have large amounts of "first round grade receivers" and the veteran receiver market be expensive at the same time with both sides being "right". The bust rate on first round receivers is fairly high. That doesn't make selecting them "wrong" in terms of process, it just means it is a gamble at a high value position.
Here baby
I’m so thrilled to be able to keep hitting the griddy on Sundays😭
5-10 years from now and Brou gonna still refer to Purdy as Mr. Irrelevant
Nick the only thing that you consistently hate is hating Aaron Rodgers, everything else you’re back-and-forth on
i agree with nick i always felt that paying WR so much is a fools errand because in the grand scheme of the game they are the easiest weapon to neutralize on the field and require other positions of there control to be good in order for themselves to be of use mainly the entire offense
Y y’all hate on Tua n the fins?? I’ll never understand it, he’s had 4 straight winning seasons with the consistently the most injured team in the nfl. Also lead the league in yards last year btw
Brought on that ayahuasca to..
I’ve never had such a 180 POV on a sports commentator that I have had on Nick Wright. The reason being because HE IS THE MOST CONSISTENT IN SPORTS TALK. Sorry for raising my voice but I just love this man’s integrity. I still don’t agree with him half the time but I trust he believes what he says.
I agree with Nick I never overpay a WR who has won a SB!
Nick is extremely consistent with all his takes, except on Brock Purdy. Kept moving the goal post on that take
Brou absolutely got me 😂😂😂😂
He got me too 😅
Brou got me. Can’t cap
Word is the Vikings tried the angle of trading jj. Signing him was there only option
Nicks gotta stop using the Chiefs as the standard for how to build a team. While you would like to build a team like them, you need a mahomes to build around. Every other team doesnt have a mahomes, so they are going to need actual pieces at WR to make up for it. WR is a tough draft position as you have so many guys who look great in college who get drafted and kind of underwhelm. If you get your draft not just right, but knock it out of the park with a JJ, Ceedee, or chase and you dont have an expensive QB or other pieces demanding top dollar, its a good time to hold on to your guy.
Nicks last point is very true
There sre almost no good offball linebackers that doesn't mean you overpay for that position. Wr is the second most valuable position. Other than a qb no individual players consistently have as large of an impact.
So, Mr Consistency, is Wildes an idiot or not? I say NO WAY. Creative comedic genius is what I call him. 😊
Please, for the fans, don't spoil Brou's takes in the title.
Go Vikings! Keep paying those wide receivers!
Thanks for reminding me that my team pays Daniel jones way too much money in a segment that has nothing to do with the giantz
I don’t think JJ is bad signing. It’s amazing deal if McCarthy turns out to have a great year. Then come time for McCarthy’s payday JJ deal will be coming to a end. If McCarthy sucks then you still need someone for the fans to want to come watch
Nick is wrong. Same way how QBs get paid a lot, even average ones but we still See a record amount go in the first round. The draft is a crapshoot so of course wideouts will still get paid. Not every team can develop and most players don’t pan out
0% chance the Vikings were ever gonna trade JJ OBVIOUSLY.
Nick is right, BUT I’m still signing Justin Jefforson 😂
If you don’t expect Aaron Rodgers to be confident what league have you been watching for the last 15 years? Like come on guys, let him have his personality.
I don’t disagree with Nick about wide receivers having a bubble but to suggest you don’t pay a 24 year old who is clearly on hall of fame trajectory isn’t how this works
I’m so glad the adoration made it to RUclips 😂😂
Aaron Rogers saying that he could play last year qas not saying he was 100%. I don't get why nick hates Aaron so much for off the field things. Its kinda low for him
Patrick mahome had tyreek hill till he developed into a great qb...
What lol
@@obiwanyutubenit’s facts 🤡 and he still has kelce and a top 3 oc of all TIME that helps scheme mediocre wrs open
He still throwing the ball to arguably the best TE of all time in travis kelce, people are always forgetting that lol
Wait, so because he says he's 90% now, he couldn't have played then? By the end of an NFL season who the heck is at 90%? Guys play at 75% al the time. They play with casts on their hands and arms. They play in a bunch of different circumstances where they are far below "healthy"
I don’t trust people that support Aaron Rodgers
I dont trust people that don't support aaron rodgers
i don't like it 😒......I ADORE IT😆😆😆😭😭
"It can't be that they drafted 6 quarterbacks in the 1st round and at the same time the quarterback market is exploding." Yeah it can, because that position is valuable. If you don't have one of those guys you go get one of those guys, and if you have one, you pay him.
i agree with nick as far as how the wise receiver talent depth has grown but even if you can draft a good to great receiver in a later round there’s only one justin jefferson and your chances of drafting one as good if not better than him are extremely low.
Brouuuuuuu 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Let’s go jets
If Nick's argument is correct, then the positions that should be paid are Super Bowl winning QB, dominant pass rusher and "never misses" kicker.
LOL
These guys are jokers the Vikings said they never tried to trade Justin Jefferson
But... except for one year, Rogers *has* failed in the post season.
😂😂😂 What made zero sense was that the NFL every year had numerous QB draft bust yet the QB pay kept going up. The players that were being underpaid were any Superstar player who didn't play QB. Now the market is reflecting who should really be getting paid and that's the actual talent on each team regardless of position. Also that's hilarious that Daniel Jones is still going to get paid more than Jefferson. That in itself should let you know that the QBs have been getting overpaid. Only Mahomes actually deserves QB MONEY. Josh Allen should be getting paid somewhere around what Jefferson is getting paid
If "Mr. Consistency" means you never go back on your bad takes when they get proven wrong, being a flip flopper might be preferable.
Yes
To be fair, Nick is consistently wrong.
Nah 'cause people let Colin have it lol
They are talking as if Jefferson isn’t a generational talent on track to be in the conversation of best to ever play the position.
Nick saying he’s consistent because we can go back and verify he never goes back on things he said as well as the fact he says he believes everything he says and isn’t just trying to be entertaining is the ultimate form of gaslighting.
Why
He's changed his a tone a few times. Usually involves him getting humbled and being very very wrong. His 2020 Tom Brady/Bucs takes come to mind.
@@R17759 all he does is contradict himself lol. Every argument he uses against guys he picks against, he excuses away for his “chosen” guys/teams. I watch the show because it’s entertaining, but to pretend Nick is consistent is absolutely absurd. And if you think the guy believes everything he says is to believe he’s either really dumb (thinking the Chiefs will go 20-0, Lakers will sweet the Nuggets last year/win this year) or he’s playing up his “character” for entertainment purposes because he knows people will tune in to see how he uses mental gymnastics to spin out his way out of being proven wrong.
Yoo I swear I hate when shows talk about Vikings because YALL OBVIOUSLY DONT WATCH THEIR GAMES OR KNOW WHAT YOURE TALKING ABOUT
Nick over here playing 3D chess. Chiefs got rid of hill and Sneed. So nick talks about how you don't pay those positions so that he can in another segment praise the Chiefs for not spending on WR & CB
You win back to back, you get praised. Simple. You make it sound like a conspiracy theory😂
Easy to find nick being inconsistent, Brock purdy and the ever changing goal posts
AB somewhere punching the air right now wishing he was still in the league.
Rodgers has always been more concerned with winning mvp than rings.
I guess since he ain't winning a SB he falls back on MVP
The only way to win MVP is to win 10+ games, most of the times you need to be a 1 seed. The only thing he can control as a player is the quality of his own play. MVP = good stats + winning games.
@@TheSlithiceit’s wild that you have to break this down to people. MVP means you’re consistently putting your team in the best position to win. At the end of the day it’s still a team sport
So you completely ignored when he said he rather win a SB....ok
False
I'm a bit tired of this " the Jets beat the Bills last year" it's disingenuous and Nick won't correct it because it fits his view. Josh Allen beat the Bills in that Jets game. The Jets kept trying to lose that game, but Allen wouldn't let em
Also Tyron Smith has t played an entire season since 2015. He played great last year but was only in 13 games. Between 2020 and 2022 those 3 years he played a total of 17 games. In a 3 year period. So we know he isn’t playing a whole year. If you get 13 games from him consider yourself lucky.
And how many bad teams beat them. Talk about selective facts.
Next year the Chiefs Center and Right Guard are free agents. That LG Thuny isn’t getting younger. I would hold out if I was that center and wouldn’t show up until I got a contract extension. He is a top 3 center. The RG Smith is no slouch either. The Chiefs RT who they are paying as if he were a LT isn’t that good. And they have no LT.
Isn’t the whole point of being a professional athlete to be confident and believe that you can perform at the highest levels?
Of course Aaron Rodgers is going to believe he can still be an MVP and Super Bowl contender
What?? A guy that never failed in the post season is crazy. If he only has 1 Super Bowl then means he’s failed every other time but 1 in the post season
Dak had 36 TDs,
Mr consistency who could care less about quarterback wins but crowned Chris jones the best defensive player in the league because of his Super Bowl rings
dak threw 36 tds brou 💔
Arod would’ve won more if my Seahawks didn’t have the Legion of boom!
Eventually these high paid wr and QB will cause so much cap issues, the rest of the team will suffer and in return, the team will lose
Someone other than Mahomes winning the SB? And Nick rises to the bait like a trout.
Nick is the same guy that said Cowboys should pay Ceedee Lamb
For Nick its wrong to sign weapons if you're a non-KC team. Or any team/player/coach/GM/fan related to anything he dislikes.
Kupp greatest WR .
Love this show, but I’m so sick of nick and wildes just slamming on Rodgers every chance they get like at this point just stop talking about the guy if y’all hate home so much.
Cry elsewhere
It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if Nick got unalived
Only Mahomes can claim to be better than Rodgers. Talk of him being 12-15 best is just hate.
