IMO, the scoria is the best thing CJRB has released to date. I have a bunch of CJRBs….feldspars, rias, a mangrove, some others I’m currently forgetting…but the scoria is really next level with its ergonomics, clip and general “sliceyness”. The only thing I could do without is the coated blade but who cares, really? When you’re getting such a nice micarta, PM 9cr, xm-18 style folder for under $100, there’s only so much complaining you can do.
Great list !!! I recently picked up a Bearfly from Eafengrow. I think there is at least one other brand that has released this knife on Ali-express but this one from Eafengrow can be had on Amazon for $26!!! It has a D2 blade with an (axis-lock style) mechanism. I really think it might be the KING OF UNDER $30 category! If you haven't tried it yet, you should.
Hate to break it to ya but LTK has had about 7 or 8 different metal composition tests on Eafengrows D2 and they are 0-8 on advertised D2 blade steel with most coming back as 8cr13, with a couple I believe coming back as 5cr15 in some cases. Not trying to crap on your buy, just trying to make you aware before any further purchases from the brand.
My KU331 has an over the top detente as well. I'm thinking of just touching the detente ball with some strop polishing compound to break it in just a tiny bit. More likely I screw it up, lol. As for that Beluga...some of us prefer G10 over Micarta :)
Spot on with that number one pick. My buddy has the original Scoria with the g10 handle and it's amazing. As soon as I saw the denim micarta version I knew I had to have it. And hopefully after Christmas is all taken care of I will. And that ironfly knife looks very interesting. Great list Jay.

I've looked at that Alvely a bunch of times but last nite I bought some knives I shouldn't have especially since I've already got 6 or 7 on the way I bought my second beluga the all black murdered out version cause I've had the blue micarta for months and love it and I also ordered that New flipper PF released the other day with that $7 off coupon so it was like $27 couldn't resist it will be my 4th PF knife i really like them the beluga and 929 are by far the 2 sliciest designs without a doubt! I'm also waiting on my new Miguron Keryx to come ordered that last week. Have a great holiday!!!
Great vid Jay! Love that heavy flannel shirt you have on. I’m in Alaska and flannel shirts are the norm. I’ve noticed that you wear some very quality flannel shirts in your vids. What’s your favorite brand and source?
I have both those scorias as well as the pakkawood version, and the denim version is my favorite knife in my collection, and already bought another as a gift. I would say the pakkawood version was my least favorite of the three merely due to how slick the scales were compared to the two other textures. Also, these CJRBs come absolutely sharp and the clips are great.

I think if I had to pick a favorite on that list, it would be that blue Kubey. The handle shape sort of reminds me of a Strider, and I think it's cool. Happy Thanksgiving, buddy.
The PF Baluga is a nice knife, I sharpened one a few weeks ago and the blade geometry was excellent and the quality was impressive. Took a very sharp edge easily.

The CJRB is a bit on the high end (price wise) for the brand. Have you tried the Kizer Towser? Pretty great for the price and materials.

Oknife is all overpriced. It’s a Kizer anyways so might as well just buy a Kizer..
