Seeing Peter sobbing over Mays corpse had to have been a massive gut punch to Lee.
It had to, cause he cared about May and realizing he's partly responsible for her death, would. I wonder how Otto is going to react, if he doesn't know yet.

Lis arc is the best imo. Like tombstone, he reforms himself and becomes an ally instead of a foe. Im really excited to see if lis story goes anywhere else in sm3
I like his redemption too. Even in the 1st game he felt guilt for his actions because they ruined the good work and wrote a note apologising to May. He probably spent the 2 years in jail reflecting.

I don’t know if Li’s story is going to continue from here on in, because he’s lost his power and seems to be steadfast on fulfilling his jail sentence.
I like how miles admits he still can't forgive li, but doesn't want to carry hatred towards him anymore, I was initially worried thinking he was going to forgive him but was surprised he said he couldn't. Too many times in stories where when a villain has done horrendous acts of violence towards others they are somehow "forgiven" this was a nice change of pace!

Thankfully I wasn’t surprised by Miles’s refusal to forgive him. It’s very clear that Li has done too much to ever be forgiven by anyone but it didn’t stop him from doing his best to atone for his actions.
Agreed and that's what I didn't like about Phin as a villain (and honestly a lot of female villains in general). They killed so many people but yet are somehow redeemed at the end because... Love I guess?

@@RaphaelJohn I feel the same way, lots of things in the miles morales game felt rushed and undercooked, it had the potential to be so much more
I loved this scene so much. Obviously Miles would never forgive Li for killing his dad and bombing all of those civilians just for revenge on Norman. But he moves on enough to cooperate with him to save Peter. And Li acknowledges it and doesn't seem excuses for his crimes. That's how you do a redemption arc
It kind of reminds me of Zuko's Redemption, In particular the scene where Zuko tries to join Team Avatar only to get rejected. Li Acknowledges his mistakes and makes no excuses and wants to make up for them and doesn't complain when Peter denies his help in trying to rescue Miles.
But Like with the scene when Zuko came to help stop combustion man, Li came to help Peter.
@@michaelmurray8134I’d say this reminds me more of when Katara confronts her mother’s killer. She decided not to seek vengeance but makes it clear she will never forgive him.
I wasn’t expecting it but Mr. Negative’s redemption brought tears to my eyes. I know why Miles couldn’t forgive him- I couldn’t either if he did that to me. Jeez this series is the perfect blend of realism, comic lore, and new insanity rolled into one.
Arkham and Ultimate Alliance are the only ones that came close.
I get CHILLS every time Li says “you should be proud of him! He reminds me of you.” You can tell Li really respected Spider-Man, he really lost himself trying to kill Norman. Once miles sparred him even after everything he did you could tell he knew where he got that from, the heroism, and giving everyone a second chance.
How did he know Peter is Spiderman?

Li is the definition of a man who is full of regret…when he lost his parents he let that hatred consume him, deciding that the world took from him so he needed to take from the world.
But when all was said and done, when he was given time alone…he realized it didn’t fix anything. All he did was hurt others and make his life worse…now he can only just try…

I always thought they had so much left untold with Li from the first game. Like why would a guy who absolutely wanted to help struggling people suddenly go on a homicidal rampage against Osborn with no remorse for everyone he hurts?
There's explanation for it in the comics, basically his Mr Negative is more like split personality, kinda like Two Face.
@@nnnnmhughuuhhjiijj9457feel like that’s the case with lots of spiderman villains. Goblin has the split personality and so does venom. Most spiderman villains are relatable id say in comparison to batman where they’re just straight up bad lol.
@BenDover-lg4wv yeah I noticed that Goblin kinda comes from Norman's unconscious part of his mind. That's why I know he's gonna be a straight up menace in the 3rd game. Venom seems the most compelling to me simply cos he doesn't understand the human brain and can't comprehend why Peter would reject him. He just accessed EVERYTHING that was inside Peter's mind.
I thought Martin Li would have been more surprised to find out Peter is Spiderman. Maybe he figured it out in the first game or in prison

I really didn’t know who Mister Negative really was before this game came out, heard the name but knew very little about the character. I really the character arc Insomniac cooked up for him fr. Hope we get in SM3 or maybe in the Wolverine game
I was always disappointed at how Li's sympathetic qualities immediately disappeared when he was revealed as Mr. Negative in the last game and saw no real conclusion to his story arc so its nice to this sequel fix that

Guess we can’t call him Mister Negative anymore if he’s gonna be a good guy
Hard to not feel sorry for Li. But at least he did good in the end.
What miles said to Li before they broke through the last barrier was the most real response. Miles doesn't have to forgive him but he can at least let go of his hatred for him. Also Li's response to all of this shows that he is aware that he has done terrible things and people are gonna hate him and are gonna be unable to forgive him, and he accepts that and makes no excuses. In a way, him saving Peter and giving him the anti venom suit is his way of making it up to May by saving her nephew.

I happened upon a stream of Spiderman 2 by chance today so I started looking up some characters, especially Martin Li. When I read into his abilities, I grew curious, looked him up on RUclips, and found this video. I have next to no knowledge about the Spiderman franchise, but just from aesthetics and abilities alone (if not personality too), Mr. Negative is winning me.
Oh man,Spider man 3 will be very good.Li' s personal vendetta against Osborn when he s gonna become the green goblin...will be unmatched...to keep in mind the hate he got for him in the first game when we thought Li was the real evil.Let s make insomniac bring Li back for the sequel.If they re goong to the point where I m thinking they ll go...man,the third game will be even much more immersive than this one.

In his last scene he walks towards the police and says that he’s making things right in Spider-Man’s way. It’s safe to say he was turning himself in.
F.E.A.S.T thankfully seems to still be going strong on his own. Really seems like he made arrangements for it to be able to continue despite him becoming a criminal.

I honestly didnt really enjoy the game that much cuz despite being the more experienced Spider-Man, Peter just kept getting hit, punked on etc in the cutscenes while Miles was the one keep saving Peter's ass. Bruh, Pete was Spider-Man for much longer than Miles was, it should have been the other way around.
That’s the point. He started letting his reservations and biases in the way and the symbiote was no help whatsoever. He ended up needing to be saved, and Miles still sees the world as salvageable being such a new Spider-Man.
Because after miles learns, he’s like a way more powerful Spider-Man just bc of his powers-
Don't get me wrong- I'm not looking for an invincible, flawless Spider-Man but... c'mon, the Spider-sense in here doesn't even work in the cutscenes no more. Peter is getting punked on while Miles gets out unscathed. Even Miles in the previous game got punked by Phin a few times, despite his powers. They're making Peter in this game much weaker to bring out just how strong Miles is. Like wtf.
@@ad1kher0gaming71 That's one of the driving points is that Peter is so consumed with the Spider-Life it finally catches up to him, to where he takes time off at the ending. Where Miles the new, more powerful Spider takes the lead for a while. Plus Kraven cancels out the Spider-Sense, he always has. We seen it in the church. You said you played it, not that hard to understand the story, on why they wrote it that way.
@@veeay-k8398 Yes I played it and yet I call bullshit on Kraven cancelling Spider-Sense. I may not be a snorting nerdy comic-book nerd (at least not from Marvel) but the fact that Peter didn't even sense Kraven stabbing him is just outright stupid. Insomniac made Miles look more competent than the veteran Spider-Man who has been doing this for 8 years. That is what's baffling me the most. The marketing promos show Miles and Peter as equals and yet Peter eats so much shit in this game and is portrayed as the lesser one.

I really love how Martin's character development went from one of Peter's greatest foes/enemies to later on redeemed himself.
Agreed, Martin never got the kind of character development in the comics that he did in these games so too see that development actually pay off and give him some redemptions is really lovely to see. He's the MVP in this game IMO.

I like the small note in how when first confronting Li, his name is displayed as Mister Negative however it changes to Martin Li after he becomes an ally in helping Spiderman.

This Spider-Man videogame is really great. So are the previous ones. I hope the next will be as good as this.
The next time they make a Spider-Man Series, they need to feature Mr. Negative.
Shoutout to Insomniac for giving Martin Li some amazing character development, this is the kind of development that I wish the MCU would bring back instead of favoring jokes every two minutes. That crazy in-depth personal battle between Miles and Martin in Miles' head was just so good at getting at what Miles was really fighting for. I'm hoping that Insomniac uses that as a blueprint for Green Goblin in Insomniac 3 since Norman's battle with Peter will be similarly personal in Norman's perspective; perhaps Goblin could use his psyche bombs on Peter and Miles to show them how he sees them and how he felt seeing Harry being taken out on a stretcher and his hardships throughout the trilogy.
