I noticed the time you were having with the snap ring and thought I would pass along a tip I got from one of the best mechanics I ever knew Gus Youngman 55 years ago. Anytime you need to get under something like that I use a clam knife. He gave me a spare that day and I have used it ever since for hundred different tasks from prying snap rings to spreading adhesives to prying apart mating surfaces without damaging them the longer you have one the more you will use it. I say clam knife and not an oyster knife as they are too thick a clam knife is flat with no ridges, mine has a plain wood handle with no guards or other crap. Kind of like having a fingernail made of steel. Check your mom's kitchen drawers she may have an old one floating around. Because the tip is rounded and thin it is pretty hard to damage anything with it and way safer than screwdrivers. I know it sounds weird and I looked at Gus kind of sideways all those years ago but as always he knew what he was talking about.
that sounds like a good tool. we don't have those type tools around here. i make tools out of all kind of things. you have to be flexable to do these jobs. tatro

NO it`s a pocket knife = only oyster knife if opening oysters !
What is your personal opinion of those 4 speed revtech transmissions?
most of the parts are good but the assembling needs some help. the shifter is the worse part of this deal.
