Hi guys! This week we traveled to Icheon, which is about an hour outside of Seoul. Icheon is really famous for this particular meal called 'Ssalbap', which is a very traditional Korean meal with A LOT of incredible side dishes! The restaurant we went to is called 'Icheon Dolsot Ssalbap.'

This has been my favorite video so far. It reminded me so much of when I travelled to South Korea in September of 2017. I miss the Misty Mountains and the traditional Korean foods restaurant. I still don't get the concept of pouring in the hot water over the stuck rice in the bowl haha. I love Sundays when I know that y'all are coming out with the new video a highlight of my morning😊 thank you 😄😄
The pouring of hot water is to get the scorched rice flavor, which is a kind of a rustic taste many Koreans grew up on. But yeah it's not a taste that will make an impression as it's very mild and bland. You kinda have to grow up with it to appreciate it. Most younger Koreans don't even appreciate the taste because nowadays with Rice cookers, you don't even get scorched rice at all.
Oh I loved Icheon its so different and beautiful ..and ya Sarah's soft heart💗appreciating.. And Happy birthday to Kyuho's Dad!!😁😁 and obviously Kyuho's mom so sweet she always takes care of Sarah I love their relation so much ha-ha!!

Is it only me that thinks Sarah looks really nice with fluffy hair and those baby hairs?
I think she will look amazing with a more voluminous, wavy/wild hairstyle!

Sarah, I do the exact same thing with snails, worms, and slugs on the sidewalks. I think they come out when it rains, but then they’re in danger of being stepped on, or fried when the sun comes out and it gets hot. I learned to do it from my mom when I was little. You do you. 🐌
Awww, I learned it from my mom too! ☺️ I’ve been doing that with snails, slugs, and worms for pretty much as long as I can remember, haha 😅
헉, 이천에 오셨다니 넘 반갑네요! 도예촌은 이천 내에서도 시골쪽에 속하는 곳이라 풍경이 더 좋은 것 같아요. 나중에 이천 쌀 축제 하실 때도 한 번 놀러오세요..! 쌀밥집도 좀 더 큰 곳 가시면 음식이 차려진 테이블을 통째로 밀어서 서빙 해주시는걸 보실 수 있습니다😁
우와 된장찌개까지 ㅋㅋ 진짜 한국사람 다된거 같네요 ㅋㅋ 된장찌개 외국인들에게 ㅋㅋㅋ 먹여는데 냄새랑 ㅋㅋㅋ 맛때문에 엄청 이상하게 생각했는데 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
역시 한국집은 어디나 똑같아요 ㅋㅋ 세라씨를 정말 아끼는거 같네요 ㅋㅋ 이것저것 다 챙겨주는거 보니깐요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ

I do the same thing with little critters I find along my way haha. Mexico has Children's Day too! We celebrate it on April 30th, though - bit earlier than you guys. I'd never heard of another country having it too, so this was a really cool video to watch! I like to believe I'm the cool aunt (don't we all?), but all the children in my family are in my home country so I only get to spoil them once a year or so, boo. I can't believe i watched your video while i was hungry, it was very hard hahaha :) in Mexico we do have a childrens day (April 30th) but is not like a holiday (at schools maybe they do like a festival or something, or maybe some parents give gifts to their children but that's it). May 5th (Battle of Puebla) is like a holiday also in Mexico (but we don't celebrate it, there's just no school that day) and we also use the term of cool uncle or aunt 😊😊 just like sarah said ❤

I am Canadian. I always help worms and snails off the road or pavement, especially if they will get crushed or if its really hot.
Children's Day is celebrated on the 27th of May in Nigeria. There are so many kid parties thrown on the day, both by the government and citizens!
ya we do that too. when ever we see worms on the road and on the places where they can be easily squished by people. we pick them up just like you did and put them on the safe place . 🤗🤗

I was reading about the difference between Naengmyun from South Korea and North Korea. Apparently Incheon is famous for specializing in it. I would love to see a video where you try some of styles there.

I did the same thing with a praying mantis. I was walking with my nephew who was around 4 or 5 at the time(?). I asked him if we should move him or her from the sidewalk and into the forest so he or she doesn't get trampled on. He told me we should so I used a stick (obviously I wasn't going to pick it up with my fingers 😁😛) to gently pick him or her up and placed it in the woods. I hope that was a learning experience for my nephew.
That 1 hr train ride and the 20 min walk looked so worth it for all that food! Did he just put hot water in the rice? I am Japanese and I put green tea in my rice. Especially if I am not feeling well. That is my go to food if my tummy doesn't feel well. But any cooked fish I will suck all the bones out but can't do raw fish for some reason. Which is strange because I would've fought Kyuho for that raw crab! Lol!

So at this restaurant you just ordered ssalbap for two and that's what came out? There were so many banchan! We are planning a trip to Korea for the fall and I was debating staying at Incheon or near the garden of morning calm the first night. I think this video convinced me I want to try that restaurant!
