First Test! Federal Signal 508: Steady/Alert Signal - Marathon Twp, MI - 6/3/23

First remote test for this Federal Signal 508 and it was a success! I was also joined by ​⁠‪@Siren1000T1‬ for this test. Back in August of 2022, Tim Reinhardt and I attended a board meeting for Marathon Township regarding their interest in purchasing a tornado siren. We provided siren options for both refurbished and new, and they voted on purchasing a brand new 508! The siren was installed by West Shore Services in April 2023 for a cost of $28,500. Hopefully this siren will serve the township well!

If they went with a refurbished unit they would of saved some money a refurbished Thunderbolt 1000T would of been great here

The township had plenty of money to spend and felt more comfortable getting something brand new rather than refurbished.

Is that plastic on the outside of it?

The horn is fiberglass and I believe everywhere else is aluminum.
