I WILL say that i was confused why on several times when Tennessee was shooting free throws, why we had NOBODY under the basket? Im sure this was strategic, but damn if i understand it.
Bc it was at the end of the game, and we were up 3 shooting 2 ft’s. He makes 1 it’s basically over, what you don’t want to happen if he misses is you get a fluke foul going for a rebound and or if he misses both, ur still up 3, and you have ur defense back and set to defend a quick shot with time expiring. You wouldn’t want them to have the opportunity to get out in transition with numbers somehow off a missed 2nd ft and allow them a chance at a better look. You always pull ur guys back in that situation
Everyone is so concerned that UK fans will boo cal!! Well that wouldn't be a new thing. I've already been in rupp arena where the fans booed cal and the team cause they sucked so bad they lost to Evansville! Cal definitely got booed in rupp arena already! So if it happens again who cares!!While at UK ESPN and Fox and every sports commentator use to bash cal all the Time!! Now they baby him?? Crazy to think a fan who pays for season tickets shouldn't boo the opposing coach?? Anyone who thinks it's wrong can just suck this big one while I'm hoping cal!! lmao

Aaron, I am not a happy Kentucky fan right now... Our rebounding killing us. We won by heroic efforts by Jaxson and Kobe but our play to play rebounding is embarrassing. We let numerous rebounds hit the floor, esp in crunch time!!!! I dont understand Popes freethrow rebounding strat either... Dudes, we could be the best team in nation, if we dominate the boards on both sides!!!
That’s any team we see it every year! Some teams lose the first weekend and other teams you thought would lose go on a good run!! This team is a long way from being great but Pope has showed up in every big game this year! But I will agree with you in that. I feel better with this team playing against good competition then I do against a team that we are favored.
Long rebounds. Hard to get boards when both teams are tossing 3's. The games not played like it used to be with bodies being stacked in the paint. The floor is spaced so wide it's hard to get a long ball rebound. If the guards can start boxing out a little better, we MIGHT see a change of the rebounding tide. But the way we like to run in transition, I don't see it this season. And the defense? Ever since Georgia we've been timid as hell. I don't see that changing. All you can hope for is good solid D. I'd like to see them hedge and ice screens more, but these guys like to go under screeners on shooters. Williams doesn't know how to seal his man in the post. They don't stunt and recover well. To much ball watching too. That's down to coaching. And that's been a problem with Pope. Defensive coaching. Especially fundamentals from what I've seen with this team. Just getting down into a defensive stance is a problem sometimes with them. His defense will knock him out of the coach of the year talk.

Offensive rebounding is still Kentucky’s biggest struggle and is the reason they’ve lost games and haven’t been able to command games they’ve won. Their offense is efficient, but rebounding is part of the reason they struggle defensively. It’s also why UT was able to throw up 45 three’s and fortunately, weren’t making many of them.
I’ve been saying Tennessee is massively overrated ever since they held onto that top 5 ranking weeks into the season after playing nobody. Glad to see everyone else catching on.
Yeah, great win for the Cats still, but I agree. They are just really not that great offensively. Outside of Lanier and Milicic they don't shoot the ball well. Little pigtail fouls a lot can hit some garbage every now and then, but they lack a creator and the offense is just stagnant when it isn't creative off their defense. If they can grind out games and keep them in the 60's they can win, but other than that they are just not that great offensively.
The win over Duke is much more rare and by far, the batter win. How many of yall would rather listen to UK sports being covered by a Kentuckian who's been a fan since he was 7 years old in 1994? Personally, listening to people from California and wherever else pretend to know BBN is getting exhausting. I'm about to start my own.

Thank you! Our defense is worrying me too. We can have a great run in March but it could end first weekend too. If we shoot bad, it’s over for UK.
