Mobility Islands Builders Sanctuary Code: SH7GMU
Here are some quick things you can implement the next time you are building to make your mobility godlike :)
Beginners:
Layout your mobility and especially mobility chutes BEFORE building the rest of the base.
Connect bedrooms and retakes to your mobility chutes or rings.
Keep the compound simple and don't stuff it full of different things.
Try to have quick access everywhere from anywhere. Especially to retakes, bedrooms, shooting floor and main lootroom.
Don't use ladder hatches in any other place than the quick shooting floor mobility chute. It's not a solution to even the hardest mobility problem.
Advanced:
Utilize rings more. Those could be bed rings, normal rings, pancake rings and roof rings.
Make sure that connections between rings and floors are flawless.
Try out additional things that give mobility.
Utilize compound outposts more and connect them to the base.

These videos really should have their own channel in building bulletin. Basically the only well thought out and good guides to actually designing bases
The one exception I like, is using a wide gap to create peaks around the perimeter of your ladder hatch. That way you can shoot and check if it’s clear before opening
Interesting, but I doubt that you can check the upper side when coming below.
@@JapzaRust I mean if they were trying to use the peak against you in a top down, you could know where from and shoot back. However, you'd be correct. Not a full enough view to know if it's clear to open the hatch and can't shoot while climbing either.

Keep it square and just put boltys on all the other side of the doors.

Your teammates are going to get headache. When they need to open 200 garage doors to fight a enemy.
Usually, at least what I do, garage doors are kept open until going offline or leaving the base for long time. Then just have normal doors so that no one goes deep.
@@JapzaRust I meant you use garage doors to much. Example everywhere in base (not including core).
I mean yeah, I guess you are right. That's just how Im used to doing things but I should prolly use less of them.

i use a ladder hatch.... i build a squire then i build a l shape stairs.. and ladder hatch.. normal its 2 garage doors... now its 2 garage doors AND a ladder hatch
Even though its one rocket more it loses you the raid because of all of the reasons mentioned in the video

Okay Rust players and content creators really need to stop this mentality of "make base like X because it's better for raid defense" because nobody onlines. What does it matter if you have ladder hatches or any of the stuff listed in the video if you aren't going to be online to defend the raid anyway.
Rings and chutes improve your quality of life a lot. I think this is bad mindset for builder to have because ladder hatches are actually very weak. If you disagree actually that much about these points, then just continue using them. I don't know what servers and group sizes you play but at least bigger groups do get onlined. Anyway everything in this video is just my perspective to the topic
I agree that if you play solo duo trio then its not big deal if you actually never get onlined. But i promise you that the one time you do get and you have bunch of ladder hatches, you will have very hard time defending
