I have the original XL in AUS8A and want to get the other two in AUS10A. I hope Cold Steel continues to produce these, and in the nation of Taiwan's excellent manufacturing facilities. Superb folding knives
XL Voyager Vaquero serrated, left pocket. XL Counterpoint serrated in the right. Well armed in a NO gun carry country, to keep my wife and me safe. Thanks to CS, been safe for 35 years. Thank you Lynn!!
When I go to the city (Detroit) I grab either my Espada large g10 or my Espada xl polished or my ti light large. When I want to protect myself I grab a cold steel every time! Can’t beat it!
I'm right there with you my friend. My Spartan makes me feel invincible. I've had to pull it one time in a sketchy situation, and the other guy had some piece of garbage. My favorite knife, just gorgeous dagger design, that false edge drop makes it just beautiful. I am a lefty so swapping the clip option and thumb knob on both sides makes it perfect for me. I cannot comfortably use ti lite for example because it is not as lefty friendly so counter point is just gold. Hey Coldsteel!! Make a new version of counter point please!! That knife is worth some de luxe pimped edition 😁
I own both counter point 1 and 2. The counter point 1 is my daily carry, I feel safe, and it is awesome. I would buy these knives again. Thanks cold steel for making the best knives for the money!
What can I say, Lynn Thompson is the Man! I love a company that isn't afraid to push the boundaries and give good value for the money. Cold Steel keeps setting new standards.
Very cool to see a knife company LOWER prices when most constantly outright gouge their customers annually. With Cold Steel's 2019 lineup I can predict this year will be amazing!
I just got the Counter Point XL. For years I’ve been carrying the AK47 folding knife as my self defense knife but recently I’ve become interested in getting a bigger knife that can still fit in my pocket. When I discovered the CP XL I knew that was it! Did research on the knife and it just reinforced what my instincts were telling me. Got it in the mail a few days ago and I love this thing! It fits in my jeans pocket excellently. Cold Steel this is a great knife y’all made!
Will it be possible with that handle to use a tanto blade, the handle is better than the others, with the tanto blade of the Voyager.... It will be the perfect folder.
Excellent blades ! I'd like to see from Cold Steel make a budget series of D2 steel folding knives with variable sizes .. this kind of knives are best sellers ..
this is one of the best knives ever made i carry the counter point 1 everyday for three or four years now not one day has past it hasn't been in my pocket since the day I bought it I carry Counterpoint 1 and a Leatherman everyday I can go without my Leatherman but if I forget my Counterpoint I have to turn around and go get it no matter what it holds a great Edge the only thing it needs is to change the thumb stud to the top of the blade thumb stud that they use on some of their other knives I also have the XL version it's very nice knife but it's a little too much for EDC
Спасибо тебе за прекрасный нож Counter Point 1! У меня ещё старой версии, из AUS-8A, и это мой самый любимый нож, который каждый день радует меня своим совершенством.
I have the Counterpoint XL, the quality and sturdiness of this knive is really amazing. I wish there was a size between 1 and XL though ("Counterpoint L")
AUS-10 is a great steel for knives of this size. That is what they use on their Voyager series. I carry the Voyager Vaquero XL everyday. I also carry a Tuff Lite which is AUS-8 and still very good. They hold a sharper edge than 440C with slightly less corrosion resistance. Simply oil your blade once in a while if you are worried. Though daily pocket carry has never harmed my blades personally.
Like Lynn Thompson or Not the Counterpoint xl can't be Beat I have 6 of them in Aus8a and Love Them .If You want Bang for Your Buck Look no Further than Lynn Thompson Cold Steel Knives! Great Video Sincerely Thomas Raymond Fresno California.
I think it might give it a sleeker look but for reliability I think the blade is perfect for EDC use if it had a sharp tip it would break off I've carried the counter point 1 the medium size for probably more than 5 years and I just broke the pocket clip I've done so much with this knife there's not much you can do to break it in the blade shape that it is
Would like this in a full flat grind.I wish Cold Steel revamped the classics like The Recon 1 folders and smoothed under the pocket clips for easier access(for 2019).
I would like to have the same knife but with premium handle made for example by titanium and less curved. Something like frenzy but tiny and with more ordinary blade.
I LOVE the Counter Point series. Big comfy thick handle, great blade grind, and of course the Tri Ad lock is the only lock anyone should consider in a knife of this design. AUS-10 is one of the classic "Super Steels", just about the best you could possibly ask for from anything available in the 90's. I could ask for M390 for something modern but I know that would probably double the price.
Hey Cold Steel I'm in desperate need of a new clip for my counter point 1. Please explain to me how I can I buy them I carry and use this knife everyday and now I'm afraid I'm going to lose it I have put a parts request in but have not received any emails or callbacks I'm not asking for it for free I would like to buy a couple of them I own 5 different Cold Steel Knives but I only trust my life to this one I've carried it every single day it has been from California toSouth Carolina and back I've had this knife for so long I can't remember when or were I bought it I am going to buy another counter point 1 as a backup but I prefer the original grip that I have and would like to continue carrying it without losing it please give me some information on how to purchase a new clip

XHP is so far superior to s30v or s35vn when you look at the whole picture. Better sharpenability, holds hair splitting edge longer, better corrosion resistance. It seems to be tougher and have better apex stability as well. Just my experience. S30v does make a good work knife though, holding a working edge longer than XHP.
I bought a large XL. The scales edges are very sharp, the opening stud is so sharp I cannot use it. The lock spring is very stiff, making open and close almost impossible. Total crap. Never buy CS knife again.
