Looking great, excited to get mine! Would love to see you add the ability to delete just the part you most recently recorded, not the entire mode. On Orba I would often layer multiple drum loops on top of each other and then mess up on my last one and then have to start drums completely over.
I've seen this advertised multiple times on my facebook, I ABSOLUTELY want one! Played piaco since age 7, play by ear a LOT.... this would absolutely be a great expansion for my music!
9:30 How? I can not find an option anywhere on the app to change the key. The only way I can change the sound is the options for midi mode or pitch bend scale, even though I hear no difference with those options. I bought this because the advertising said I can play it as a guitar. How can I do that when I have to spend time searching for next the right key to play? This is not making any sense. I really wish there was an in-depth tutorial on the app and the instrument. I thought this instrument was supposed to make learning how to make music easier? Well, I'm only experiencing frustration. Also, why are there no Bluetooth settings so I can connect to other apps like Garageband?
Hey there, if you're looking to clear your loop in just one mode, you can hold (A) + Clear for about one second to erase the music you recorded on your current part.
My Chorda arrived yesterday, and I’ve been able to play with it a little. So far, I love it! Will take some getting used to, but not long. Pretty logical.
If 'website preorders are being shipped in December', would it be too much to ask when KS backer rewards are to be delivered? A KS message would be the least at this point as the origional shipping date has already expired without an update...
Hey there, Chordas are still on track to ship in November, and we're narrowing down to the second half of this month. Please see our most recent update on Kickstarter, and keep an eye out there for more specifics coming soon.
I just got mine a week or so ago and I'm enjoying it. I was gonna ask if anyone had any bets on how long it'll be before those mount hole plugs on either side fall out and get lost - I keep having to push mine back in -- but I see the one in this video is missing its little plugs already, so all bets are off! I've found that the bridge is played better with finger tips than pads to get individual notes. That is taking some getting used to, but I think I'll get there.
I wanted the Instrument 1, which looks like the same basic mold, to be able to play fast plaucking, such as a sarod or rock guitar. It could not remotely keep up. It's GREAT within its limits, but they were too slow for serious use. I don't KNOW this is the case for THIS, but would someone try strumming up/down 16ths at 140-180, single string and across the neck? Think Mohini Dey. If it tracks, I'll try again
I'm a little on the fence. It's an amazing instrument, but the scale constraints is creatively limiting for me. I have an Orba, and having my lead be pentatonic-only without the ability to more finely tweak holds me back from using it more despite loving the concept of it. I might go for it anyway, but I feel like letting your users have that freedom, if they wanted--as in, something they could edit in an app/software--would be such a huge boost to the Chorda. It would take it more from really cool noodling to more intentional production for me.
Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. We appreciate it. I'm happy to pass this along to the rest of the Artiphon team. In the meantime, I recommend taking the Diatonic Lead preset for a spin if you haven't already.
Good video! Tries to explain, not just look cool. Do all the keys play sounds, or are some only for selecting etc? Pity about the pentatonic scale for lead. Makes everything sound like Old McDonald. Should have a diatonic option for every instrument sound. Will this happen? I'm looking forward to playing chords with realistic string sounds.
Thanks for the feedback! All 12 pads trigger sounds. There is a diatonic lead preset, but I'm happy to pass your feedback about sounds along to the rest of the team.
Looks cool. Might even be useful as well as fun. But as everyone says, there should be more scale options. That is if they want to avoid returns. This is pretty obvious, and I'm pretty sure if these folks were inclined to listen to anyone at all, we will see it.
You can choose from a bunch of different bass presets in the Artiphon Connect app. Visit the "Presets" tab and then select Bass mode, and they'll all be listed below.
No, it doesn’t work like that. It does other fun things though - strumming the bridge gives a guitar-like feel and allows you to get all sorts of beautiful patterns. There are so many great MIDI guitars out there now - this isn’t one of them.
It is nice ---- but I wish you develop an in-house midi track --- for may be 3 to 5 minutes to record the MIDI notes. I have been using Staff Notion and it does render these notes well.
Hey there, on Chorda you will be able to record loops up to 128 bars (or 5 minutes long). You can also connect Chorda to MIDI software (like PreSonus Notion), which can record Chorda's output for as long as you'd like.
Hey there, this is a great recommendation. Thanks for sharing your feedback. As for toggling the metronome, here's a video that shows how: ruclips.net/video/O9Z5XVq7ebM/видео.html

Been enjoying my Orba 2 and can't wait to receive my Chorda. I hope the app gets some tlc. -too many taps to reconnect device -would be really nice to have the option to auto connect to last device -songs/presets could really use a preview (especially with so many to choose from!) -options for different scale types -would be nice to be able to filter out stems from song list -being able to upload/browse user created presets would be really exciting -swapping between a few loaded presets without having to open the app would be great too
Can I map different midi notes to different keys of the chordal? I will use this product as a bass guitar, but I want to map specific notes to specific chordal keys.
You can select your scale (Pentatonic, Diatonic, Chromatic) and key, but you cannot adjust individual notes. This is a highly requested feature that our team is looking into.
@@Artiphon OK. Perhaps, I can do it directly from my DAW, assigning different notes to the ones that correspond to a specific scale, and I am sure that Chorda will play them in that way. What do you think?
@@Artiphon Wow, thanks for that tip. I use Logic and Ableton, but I have Mainstage as well. It would be nice to have a tutorial on how to do that. Thanks and best. José

Hi Brenden, yes! You can layer as many layers of each mode as you'd like. We find that this especially helps when wanting to create more complex loops.
@Artiphon to be more precise, what I meant was, if I wanted a 3 minute baseline, I have to record that at once, I can do 1 minute, add the drums for that 1 minute and the finish the next 2 minutes of the bass afterwords. You can turn off the metronome by connecting Chorda to the Artiphon Connect app. Click the drop-down menu in the top left of the Play tab. Click Tempo. In that menu, you can toggle it on and off with the metronome icon in the upper right-hand corner.
Would love to use mine, but the backers that made this happen are the last to get them aparently. Artiphon has gone silent on us when it comes to shipping and some of those who got theirs are complaining about defects. Come on Artiphon, do the right thing.
This does not look like a good replacement for Instrument 1 as it cannot be played like a stringed instrument. Why did you discontinue Insrument 1? Did it suck so badly that an upgraded version was not possible?
Yes, you can turn off the metronome in the Artiphon Connect app. - Connect your Chorda to the app - Press the preset name at the top of the Play screen - Press "Tempo" - Toggle the metronome on and off my pressing the metronome icon in the upper righthand corner of the "Edit Tempo" menu

I have the artiphon instrument 1. It is a vastly superior midi controller compared to Chorda and Artiphon would do well to make a second improved model instead of making musical toys.
UPDATE I took a quick peak and from what I can find the seaboard block is solely a midi controller for about $100 more than the chorda. It looks cool, and is probably great for anyone that only wants a controller with no automatic chord, sequencer, scale, or motion control, or Internal sounds. I guess most of the functionality of the chorda is not possible for the seaboard block. So NO I would not say the chorda is a cheap version of the seaboard block, because the chorda does waaaaaaaaaaay more. …………… I’m not familiar with the roll block. Does it connect via usb and BT? Does it have a speaker? Does it have a headphone jack? Does it have internal synthesis? Can it play back samples from internal memory? Can you change scales from the block? Does it have an internal 4 part sequencer. Does it do gesture control? Does it have an internal arpeggiator? If the roli block does all that, and it’s MORE expensive than the chorda, then yes I’d say the chorda is a less expensive version of the roli block. I wouldn’t say it’s cheap though, in price or quality. I mean I don’t have one yet, but I’ve got had an Orba for over a yeah. I play it regularly and it’s been solid. Doesn’t seem “cheap”.
So you can't mix major and minor chords nor play 7th chords and worst of all, no support for Windows and Android. I would never buy one for that reason alone.
Hey there, we appreciate your feedback on wanting to mix major and minor chords as well as playing 7th chords. As for connectivity, Chorda is compatible with Windows and Android devices!
I can’t take this serious as a modern instrument. Being digital chromatic should be default with diatonic being a customizable feature as well as the assignment of notes to keys. For any serious music producer this makes it seem like a novelty. Or an overpriced super limited MIDI keyboard. I would focus solely on the live playing experience. Bring in a modern age of musical instrumentation. The ability to add my own sample libraries would also be cool.
Hey there, we totally hear you. In the meantime, we do have a Diatonic Lead preset available in the Artiphon Connect app. You also can upload your own samples to Chorda to pitched across all 12 pads in the melodic modes or assign unique samples to each of the pads in Drum mode.

Please add it to the feature list! I have 2 and it would be awesome to midi sync them. I wish it had a midi port

How do you turn off the metronome?
You can turn off the metronome by connecting Chorda to the Artiphon Connect app. Click the drop-down menu in the top left of the Play tab. Click Tempo. In that menu, you can toggle it on and off with the metronome icon in the upper right-hand corner.
I almost bought one, but realized my MPK mini does the exact same things.
How can you play own samples with it ?
Would love to use mine, but the backers that made this happen are the last to get them aparently. Artiphon has gone silent on us when it comes to shipping and some of those who got theirs are complaining about defects. Come on Artiphon, do the right thing.
This does not look like a good replacement for Instrument 1 as it cannot be played like a stringed instrument. Why did you discontinue Insrument 1? Did it suck so badly that an upgraded version was not possible?
any possibility to turn off the metronome?
Yes, you can turn off the metronome in the Artiphon Connect app.
- Connect your Chorda to the app
- Press the preset name at the top of the Play screen
- Press "Tempo"
- Toggle the metronome on and off my pressing the metronome icon in the upper righthand corner of the "Edit Tempo" menu
@@Artiphon thanks... And without to be connected to the app? ... Btw really good Job ..Well and Solid builded. The orba allready was very beloved to the kids on my audioworkshops... This Thing IS even more inspirational.. Thanks for this❤️
I have the artiphon instrument 1. It is a vastly superior midi controller compared to Chorda and Artiphon would do well to make a second improved model instead of making musical toys.
Much complicated and not suitable for everyday use
Is this MPE
Yes!
Is this just a cheap version of the Roli Block??
UPDATE
I took a quick peak and from what I can find the seaboard block is solely a midi controller for about $100 more than the chorda.
……………
I’m not familiar with the roll block.
Could this be a midi controller
It is!
Which DAW's can be used?
@@timruf7548 Any DAW that accepts MIDI data like GarageBand, BandLab, FL Studio, and many, many more.
Whaouu :)
SHOUD have a layer of recording
Artiphon?? Yoohoo??!
Why do you only reply to positive reviews? Hiw about dealing with the Kickstater backers that have been left in dark. How about some answers. There sure is a lot of pissed off backers. Shame on you.
Hi Markus, I see that one of our Community Specialists has gotten back to your email with your tracking information. If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out.
sry, but this is scrap
12 step sequencer... wow. Repetition, repetition!
It's a Suzuki Q Chord but nowhere as good.
Sounds complicated
Stan's dad is actually Lorde
Ya ya ya
It's a shame that Artiphon botched the Kickstarter campaign so badly. I'm still waiting for mine, along with hundreds (thousands?) of other backers, while Artiphon shipped units to retailers more than a month ago. It's sadly a company you should never trust with your money.
Couldn't agree more.
Artiphon dropped the ball and just ignores any question the backers have. Total BS!!
THIS LOOKS REALLY CONFUSING!!!!!!!! NO THANKS!!!!
How did you take a great midi controller and ruin it like you did. Instrument one was perfect and you discontinued it wow
So instead of making a second and improved version of instrument one you made this toy instead. How sad.
It's a different machine smh
@@beesting6135it’s terrible now lol and they discontinued instrument 1 instead of improving it. This here is junk and just a toy for idiots that can’t play musical instrument
Totally agree. $200 on sale, normally $250??? This is a $79.99 device at best
Your Instrument 1 was better
А русских совсем тут нет что ли? Не интересует?
The sounds sux…
