I think spooky scooby-doo-ish themes- not just Lego but in general- are criminally underused and underrated.
This series is kinda funny cuz of the loopholes they had to jump through to use Universal monsters while making them just different enough to where they couldn't legally be called Universal monsters. It's very different from modern lego that can basically get any license they want.
There was a bag "set" that came out, it had aa grandfather clock and a ghost that was the same as the ones from the haunted house, but with a ball and chain.

Your collection is actually missing one fig. Set 30201 Ghost came out in a polybag it had a ghost with a ball and chain and a grandfather clock is the only set from the monster fighters I have.

Monster Fighters is like my number 1 lego theme
hey listen recently I just contacted Lego about bringing back the monster fighters and they got back to me, they was 50 50 about it not saying there are bringing it back but not saying it's not a thing you know? If we all come together as fans and keep harassing Lego we may be able to bring it back. To me it's better than nothing it's been almost a decade and they still haven't done anything yet. I'm going on social media and even RUclips at some point, we can do this but if we all work together. Join me if you dare!
Zombies are probably expensive due to heavy amount of purchasing for apocalypse mocs
At the time, I almost decided to buy the entire Monster Fighters collection, but I don't remember why I didn't, I really wanted to get a Halloween themed Lego sets and that's the closest we've ever had! Yeah, I think Lego should remake this series again, it would very... spooky!! Happy Halloween everyone!
*Some Halloween "Fun" Facts:*
The original idea for a modern day vampire comes from Vlad the Impaler. However similar tales of bloodsucking creatures can be found in the mythos of Eastern cultures.
The stereotypical look for a vampire originated from how Christians perceived people with albinoism. From the pale skin, to red eyes, and the photosensitivity. In fact this stereotyping can still be found, though not as common as witches.
The idea for mummies being monsters can from the ideology of Egyptian curses. However these curses only arose when people from England between 1600-1800 began cannibalizing mummies. It was at this point that people began their infatuation into the occult, and either demonizing or making up their own things. One such, was eating parts of mummies to cure illness. They also used ground up mummies for paints.
Werewolves and lycanthropy actually originated from a real life genetic disorder that causes uncontrollable hair growth over your body. It still exists today. Originally this was seen as a trait of someone inhuman. Most people who had this were either enslaved or only able to move around at night. This trait is also the reason we have the tale of Beauty and the Beast.
Stereotypical witches have a variety of sources for how they came about. First, the pointed hat and robe came from what Jewish people in Protestant communities were forced to wear. As the witch hunts arose, it was mostly Jewish people, not Pagans, that were persecuted. This is also why the Jewish Stereotype and the Witch Stereotype share common facial features. (Also did you notice that Minecraft based their Villagers on Jewish people and they have certain villagers as Witch enemies? Sweden is mostly Christian as well, just saying.)
The Green skin for a stereotypical witch originated from The Wizard of Oz. Where it was used as a way to diversify between a good witch and a bad witch.
Zombies are based on a real thing. Zombification was a practice of Haitian Shamanism intended for spiritual healing. Where one was temporarily buried alive. (Black Panther, anyone?) Much like Hoodoo/Voodoo, the practice was adopted and twisted by white cultists (particularly French). Who used the practice for harm rather than health.

During 2012, me and my brother liked the look of the sets and we got all of them but the mansion and the zombies.

I used to love this when I was younger. I had the Ghost Train, Werewolf set, the swamp boat, the mummy’s chariot, and the zombie car (40076 to be exact, since there’s 2 zombie cars) and tried to save up enough money to buy them all. Sadly, you can’t really make a whole lot of money when you’re 6.
Reminds us just how good this theme was.

I kind of wish they kept doing this theme but without a storyline, so it can continue on for as long as they wanted to. Having a story to the sets just means that it's eventually going to end. I really think they did something special with this theme.

I really would love a revibe of this series with new characters and new monsters! Its one of my fav series of all time
They could do a monster fighters people pack, with all the fighters, Lord Vampyre, his wife a few ghosts, a few tiny builds and some more monsters

Neither of the skeles seemed to glow.
Maybe it doesn't show up on camera? Anyway I have the mummy and can confirm it glows, although, strangely, unlike the vampire (who's head appears to be made from glow in the dark plastic) the mummy only seems to have glow in the dark printing, which looks really strange.

I'm 40 years old, but Lego would definitely start getting my money again if they did another series of horror based figures or revamped the monster fighters sets.

I've been waiting for this for 2 years!
I know I'm a little late on this one, but you've missed two figs.
In set 30201 there's another ghost. This one has a 1x2 brick, a 1x1 round plate and a ball and chain, instead of legs or a 1x2 brick and 1x2 plate.
And in promotional pack 5000644 is yet another minifig, though this is just a standard skeleton thats available in over 40 sets.
Just wanted to let you know.
Regarding The Zombies set.
It was released for literally months before the line was discontinued.
It wasn’t even advertised if I recall.
Also a Target exclusive apparently (I’m from the UK, no Target here).
I found the full set for £12 on my local Gumtree / Craigslist.
This is the theme that I am most sad I missed during my dark years on Lego. I have a few on my Bricklink and I am thinking of trying to get the less ridiculously overpriced ones by next Halloween.

I remember I was always on the hunt for the zombies set because i wanted the bride and groom, wish 8 year old me would've found it...
There was another werewolf in the mistery minigures tgatthey missed. No biggie though, its pretty old (series 3 think.)
This, Space Police, Power Miners, Agents and Knights' Kingdom needed tv shows.
Zombies Bride is expensive because of so many zombie themed weddings. Needing zombie cake toppers.
I regret selling my lego monster fighters and chima so much 😭 if you are considering selling it.. Don't!

If you look at the castle set it does not include the trans pink crystal, which is the reason I bought the set as a kid, and it's so rare because nobody even knew it was a set
