That’s such a great point! It’s funny how the healthier options can sometimes be more affordable and even simpler than we think. Do you have a favorite way to prepare your oats? I’d love to hear any tips or recipes you enjoy! 😊🍯
@@gohajourney I sling 5 desert spoons of oats, 1 and half cups of water, one desert spoon of sugar, a handful of raisons and a pinch of salt into a pan on a low heat for 20 - 30 minutes stirring occasionally. Then eat it without milk. I also have whole wheat toast with peanut butter and some fruit. I'm 82, live alone, am British and play in 3 rock bands in Prague in the Czech Republic. I've recently had a book published Sweating On My Chitty Box by Jack Freeman about my misspent youth in the RAF.
@@2011littlejohn1 Wow, your breakfast routine sounds both hearty and healthy-oats, raisins, and peanut butter toast? That’s a power combo! It’s inspiring to hear how active and creative you are at 82, playing in three rock bands and even publishing a book. "Sweating On My Chitty Box" sounds like such an intriguing title-what a fascinating glimpse into your RAF days! I bet you have some incredible stories to tell.
Haha, so true! It’s funny how the healthier stuff is not only cheaper but also tastes better-plus, you get a free workout stirring the pot for 20 minutes! Totally worth it! 😄
Hi @2011littlejohn1, @gohajourney ! Haha, isn’t it funny how eating healthy can be cheaper and make us feel like gourmet chefs in the process? 20 minutes for oats-totally worth it if it means we get to brag about our “homemade masterpiece” later! 😄 So, what’s the secret? Cinnamon? Honey? Or just pure oat magic? 🍯🥣

The amusing thing is the healthier version of oats is cheaper than the processed stuff. It takes about 20 minutes to prepare including cooking time.
