    Very good advice, you can always get a second job at a hotel as well. Because flight crew schedules come out so far in advance, it makes it easier for hotels to schedule you on your days off. Hilton employee rates are $40/NT and Marriott employee rates are $50-$60/nt. And it is not on standby either. You’ll also get 20% off food and non-alcohol drinks as well.

    Great tips from an awesome FA. When I commuted, I found it really helpful to have duplicates and triplicates of certain items (chargers, toiletries, etc) at home, in my bag, and at my crashpad. It made the commuting process so much easier.

      Thank you 😊. That’s so smart . I need to start getting doubles of my chargers so I don’t have to keep switching them out.

    Thank you for your content, I just got my CJO with a mainline airline I’m so excited worried about where I might be based and its affordability. I don’t really want to commute especially on probation, I wouldn’t want to lose my job because I couldn’t get to work on time because there was a delay on a plane or it was full of passengers.

    Very informative video! Is there a crew shuttle that runs between JFK and LGA? Also, who do we need to talk to for your airline to start flying to TnT?! LOL

    So when you have to fly from your home to your home base airport, do your airline pay for your flight?

    I commute from RSW to DTW. I got a crashpad. I fly in the day before I work because like you said, they can drop you for the slightest issue on probation.

    are new hires able to request their ideal base(s) upon completing training?

    • @GetteSetter
      @GetteSetter  2 года назад +2

      The airline typically provides the available base options (if any) you then put in your preference and its awarded by seniority order.

    I have a tip.....don't commute! Years ago you were required to live within 2 hrs of your domicile. I always loved it when commuting F/A's wanted to jump in front of the other crew members in the Customs/Immigration line who just busted their rears working a long international flight and these people who CHOOSE to commute thought nothing of inconveniencing their fellow crewmembers who also want to get home albeit driving ......For those of You who don't commute just say NO!
