Cat is now offering a limited number of new casting C15 blocks. 😎 Unfortunately, you MUST have a core. It doesn't necessarily have to be a C15, but there are a lot of stipulations. But if anyone is looking for a C15, this will probably be the only opportunity to build an entirely brand new one, instead of just a rebuilt.
Yeah it’s not completely burning all the diesel but still looks cool I had a N14 black top rated at 350 and I think max was 430 but took it to cummins and mech was able to bump it up to 500 I was concerned about the driveshaft but he told me it was fine because it was rated for 1850. One of the best engines I ever owned it’s a toss up between N14 and 60 series both good engines and parts are reasonable unlike cat parts you have a black you won’t spend all your money Jack you have a green your pockets won’t be lean you have a yellow you’ll be one broke a$$ fellow
I have a c12 too. The bigger cat turbos arn’t wastegated at all. Not sure if they are wastegated for a reason. Smaller turbos I worked with would explode over a certain psi threshold. Could get a manual boost controller. Or put vacuum T’s in the line to bleed off pressure to make more boost.
Yeh you could also put in a manual boost controller to dial in the boost. The tag on my wastegate has a max psi. I don’t know if that’s what it’s set to or the actual max. I know a few of the things I’ve worked on that was the max before the impellers exploded. Not trying to risk it on a working truck.

The paper I received said to block off the waste gate. Also it is only a c12.

@@FcDominick my c15 is waste gated. But it's blocked off now. Boost increased to 38 on acceleration and 23 psi on Jake side.
Unplug and kink the hose that goes to the turbo wastgate. Maybe the wastgate is stopping it from making more boost
