Been watching this for a few weeks, still dont see what ryan did wrong himself, besides negotiating a killer contract, but he deserves another shot and his radio job back
They hid the earnings and didn’t report it. Publicly funded jobs are published. They also fixed the contracts and didn’t sign them to avoid being held responsible. They knew what they were doing was dodgy but his greed made him take a chance. Remember when he was telling us we all made sacrifices during covid ? Meanwhile he was lying and running secret deals with his agent. Then his team whitheld the documents till this morning so the committee couldn’t investigate them ahead of questioning. If he had nothing to hide they wouldn’t have used so many underhand tactics. He’s a fraud and got caught red handed
If you watched the committee you'd change your mind. Tubridy claims the payment was just from Renault for separate work, but: The contract was underwritten by RTE. The contract did not specify how much he would be paid or for how long. The invoices they provided did not show their names. The invoiced was billed for "consultancy fees" even though no consultancy services were provided. Tubridy was paid 75k for 2020 and 2021 when he did NO WORK for Renault. It seems clear to me that Tubridy and his agent coluded with RTE to hide the true nature of these extra payments.

I still don't see Mr. Tubridy doing anything wrong. A man honoring his contracts to make a living. Enjoyed this video.

The TV license needs a complete overhaul. I hardly ever watch RTE and it sticks in my craw to pay them anything. A different model needs to be found.
