I had to comment here because I can't in Anna's video, but if I could I couldn't bring myself to do so... such a sadness that I felt rush into me... I felt a connection between me and whatever was on the other side, I started crying for no reason while watching Anna play this song while her father recorded it and her family was all about their business hearing her play that piano beautifully... I suddenly heard myself saying these words: "Why did she have to die?" ... I said it twice, no thrice... while crying my broken heart out silently so that no one in my house woke up, I couldn't help myself to stop. The whole video is so beautiful, Anna is so beautiful, she is an angel and that angel visited me, and I just felt overwhelmed. I felt as if some of the family's sadness came onto me, and I grasped it so that maybe, just maybe they felt a little less of that sadness wherever they are...Maybe I'm just crazy, but that's just how I felt, and that's how I reacted. Anna is still alive in that video, and around us and her family, watching over them and helping them whenever they would need help from an angel.
I learned how to play this song at around Christmas time and got it done in like May... so it is definitely a really big challenge for a beginner like me. Also reaching from an F to C to an A was a tricky part at the end but I got it pretty quickly! :) I really like your work and this is the best arrangement I have seen. Last thing: at the end of the piece with the quarter note triplets and the quarter note was super difficult. I love this song! Thank you so much!
I also heard this song for the first time, played by a girl named Anna. This tragic about her brings me to tears. This song will now always remind me of her playing this piece of art. Unglück trifft zu oft die falschen. Ruhe in Frieden Anna.
Inspired by this wonderful performance , I remember all of 「 Downdon Abbey 」 At that time I just was intoxicated with all of 「 Downdon Abbey 」 From Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun 🇯🇵
Thanks for this! I was told, 'You have to see this show ('Downton Abbey')'. And I said, 'Oh, yeah, sure ...' As soon as I heard the theme music, I said, 'I HAVE to see this show ...'
Lovely rendition - this is an excellent television series - the hazards and confusion we mire ourselves in for lack of skillful rhetoric. The music is so fitting to the drama.
I cannot thank you enough for this. I played the piano for a long time but stopped about 2 years ago. You actually made me start again. I didn't realize how much I had missed it until now! Thank you!
This is absolutely phenomenal! I've always had a special place in my heart for piano, and with it being in tune (pardon the pun) with a favorite show of mine, I just love it! Bravo, sir!
This is so beautiful. Words can`t tell. Who ever you are, I adore you. Everythings is in harmony. This is bigger than life what you have made for. Sorry my bad english... .-)
Thank you so much for posting this video! Now I can reignite my love for piano with this piece! It's been so long since I've been moved by music. Thank you so so much.
You play wonderfully! I just started watching Downton Abbey and fell in love with this song. I definitely had to play it. Thank you for sharing your talent.:)
I play piano. I am 14 years old and I love downtown abbey. Its such a good show and I am definitely going to learn this. You are so good I hope ill be able to learn
The music drew me into the series. I just finished season one and am about to start season two. The music is as beautiful as the acting and show as well. Well done on this piano rendition of the theme and thank you for posting the notes!
Thanks so much for sharing your piano talent with the world. Downton Abbey is History above all - a special monada of English History. And I appreciate it too much. Thanks again.
Wow....I sure enjoyed this!! I am a new Downton Abbey watcher, so I started searching for the sheet music which led me to here. You played that beautifully!
This is fantastic - you are an amazing pianist. I agree with one of the other commenters. It has a melancholic sound to it, which makes it all the more beautiful and bewitching to listen to.
Beautifully done! Thanks for having the PDF file available. Printing it out right now! Found this link through a random person's post on Tumblr. So glad I did. :)
Before I got my grand I had exactly what you have now except mine was from the 1950's. My grandma bought it for my dad to play on as a kid. It was in immaculate condition and quite easy to move for a piano.
Perfection. Utter perfection. If only I spent less time drawing or painting, I might be able to play this as beautifully as you. As it is, I suppose I'll use this as mood music when I'm at the easel.
I've just started to watch the show and immediately wanted the piano sheets... so I've googled them and of couuuurse I ended up here again! :D And as soon as I recognised your channel, I knew this could only be good ^^ So, thank you for this beautiful video and the sheets! This gave me the sweetest goosebumps...
@maggierebeka The whole song is called "Did I Make the Most of Loving You?" and it is on iTunes in the Downton Abbey soundtrack. The only shame is that it is not purely instrumental, there are vocals in it, but it is a lovely song all the same. Wonderful playing on the piano!
This is really beautiful. Makes me wish I could play the piano. (I have no training so I don't hear "flaws", I hear nice music). I also prefer this version to the fully orchestrated one on TV.
This is so moving and beautiful. You are truly talented, sir! I love 'Downton Abbey' and it's theme song. I've played your video over and over and it moves me every time. Most excellent!
Beautiful music. The composer John Lunn may not be aware of it, but the tune is almost identical to the piano part of the song "As I sat sadly by her side" by Nick Cave and the bad seed. It's from Cave's beautiful album "No more shall we part" from 2001.
I am so in love with this theme!

My spirit soars as I hear this lovely lady play this song. I can't explain the beauty behind the music.
This guy is good, this is the sort of music you could fall asleep to i think.
A minor to F major. Gee, incredible! Even the little bust (head statue) on the side of the piano is rolling it's eyes.
This is absolutely gorgeous. The first time I watched this show (last night, actually) I immediately fell in love with the entire score.
Honestly, this is possibly one of the most cathartic (and maybe even a tad melancholic?) pieces of music I've ever encountered.
It sounds happy then tragic then overcoming adversities and then back to tragic and then achieving your goals
I will miss the series, but even more the theme, so fitting for the show.
ive been learning this by ear for ages and it toook me ages! thanks for posting this! it is truly amazing!
