The upside down cross (inverted cross) is a widely misinterpreted symbol. It's origin begins with Saint Simon Peter, one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. Saint Peter was crucified upside down as a sign of humility that he was not worthy of the same death as Jesus. The inverted cross can be seen on church steeples and pope thrones all over.

i hope some day every person will sit down and listen to explanations like this. when i told a friend of mine the very same thing about the upside down cross he was shocked first, then laughed at me, telling me my mind was infiltrated by the devil, etc etc. it was the last time i ever talked about religion with friends ^^

@nonameyesfame7942 no, Saint Peter didn't believe he was worthy of being crucified in the same way as Jesus Christ was, so he asked for the crucifix to be upside down. It became known as Saint Peter's Crucifix and a sign of humbling ones self in the name of our Lord within the church. I have no idea when it became associated with Satanism or even how, though if i had to guess I would say some edgy atheist thought he was saying something powerful about using it because it's "the opposite" of the crucifix and therefore mocking God.

Yes, the upside-down cross was actually the cross of Saint Peter as a sign of humility. But when others claimed it as a sign of heresy, it's like they're making Peter a bad person, and it made me angry.

Since I was already aware of the St. Peter thing, what I think when I see the symbol is "stupid people wanting to be all rebellious and satanic".
Looks like a stick with another stick attached to the near bottom of the original stick but not over it or under it so basically a sick cut in half and one half attached to one side and the second half attached to the other side or a stick with 2 smaller pieces of the same sized stick one attached to the opposite side of the other at the near top but turned down. Or an upside-down cross

Jesus claimed that he came down not to bring peace but to bring a sword.
Interestingly, the upside down cross looks like a sword so it is even a more meaningful symbol for Jesus as the Latin cross is the symbol of his suffering while the sword is the symbol of his own goal.

Even the crucifix up the right way means nothing and has no power at all. Even though the modern Christian movement adopted it as a symbol relating to their religion. The symbol of the crucifix really relates to death and punishment as it was what was use many years ago for the death penalty. So everytime a Christian wears a crucifix around their neck they are in fact putting a curse upon themselves. The crucifix with the Christ on the crucifix is even worse then the the crucifix without the Christ on it. By those in this Christian religion taking part in this is like me wearing a symbol of the electric chair around my neck which is the object of the death penalty of today in some countries, then calling it the symbol of my new religion. The crucifix holds no power or protection in any way.
