While a victim was parked at a local hotel overnight Thursday, police said a suspect from a shared video stole four HSN powder decking guns valued at $7,000 each, according to police.
In the video, you can see the male suspect wearing a black hat, black shirt and black shorts with tennis shoes.

Theft is theft!!! You don't blame the victim for what the criminal did. What kind of society have we become where the criminal is treated better than the victim.
Why can't you blame the victim? Yes the crime was committed by the criminal but you also have to be a bit proactive in protecting your property. It doesn't mean that the criminal is let off the hook for the crime but the guy helped facilitate the theft of his goods by not attempting to secure them in any manner whatsoever. Didn't even run a cable through them to secure the items in the truck bed.
Wow, I never knew being told to protect your valuables counts as being treated worse than being put in prison. So being told "dont leave $28k lyin out where anyone can take it" is worse than sacrificing your freedom and civil rights and being branded as a criminal for the rest of your life.

Yea we have Hilti hammer drills for plumbing w/same case.
They need cleaning and new pistons all the time. Once they are reported stolen they won’t be serviced. Hilti does an excellent job of tracking tools. You have to get them fixed at a Hilti tool center.
Oh come on....just say they are construction nail/fastener guns,
I keep all my old unused Hilti boxes and others for decoys, I put weights in them also. Its my way of testing parking lots and other locations. Only lost some when overnight in my driveway
Not denouncing where I’m from. But who in the world leaves their truck unattended, no cover, no lock, no camera, and assuming this is a hotel parking garage lot.. out of view, sad.
Imagine having to show this video to your boss/owner after you told him all the tools were secured.
As a construction man, never leave the jobs tools or your tools out in the open. You’re asking for something to go missing. Taking care of your stuff also includes proper storage.
Out of sight out of mind. Don't leave anything in plain sight. I have learned the hard way from personal experience.
Funny story:
Some years ago, when Moscone Center in San Francisco was being renovated, one of the electrical shops had a large gang box stolen overnight.
The whole gang box. Someone rolled up overnight and stole the whole gang box.
This particular gang box was stored outside the "secure" area, so it's not surprising that it was stolen. The funny part is that the only items that were in it were the crew's PPE.
The box was found three blocks away from the job site with the locks destroyed but everything still in it.
Imagine schlepping a whole gang box a quarter of a mile on city streets - uphill, and by yourself - only to find out you made all that effort for nothing.
Hear me out... he left them in his truck on purpose so he could file an insurance claim. As a fellow tradesman we all know our tools are how we earn a living. That said, all tradesmen I know have a gang box or some other way to secure that which help put food on the table.
My dad got his drill stolen, he thinks it might have been cops, and no, they weren't left in the open, they actually broke the window and took it, it was worth $1,000
Your most expensive tools should be inside the truck doors since you’re gonna lock it every time you leave. I can see longer tools being left in the bed though
