Light on/off is never an issue, you can use visible wave length when needed(normal bulb) and invisible wave length like Infrared (IR) for uninterrupted connection.

The combination of lifi and wifi can be built together so that when light is off the wifi gets automatically on so that it could be used in dark also. The only problem is the switching of network but I think this is not a big problem it is a very tini problem infact no one can fell it. The wifi installed with wifi need not to be large. We have seen very small wifi hotspot devices infact our mobile phone. I mean to say that a small chip is needed only which has low range according to use. The hybrid technology of LiFi and WiFi will be definitely the revolutionary!

KUMAR GAURAV this will need LED not CFL. Also CFL doesn't have operating frequency of 50hz. Also 50hz frequency will not interfere as this will send digital signal and have much higher frequency in range of gigahz. so a basic low pass filter is enough to eliminate the problem.

Li-Fi needs a lot more modification, there are so many nagging points to b taken care of. Some more easier mechanism is needed to upgrade it, data disruption can be seen easily when u start roaming in your room, the light will now follow you to every corner of ur room.
Sir it is just an concept our internet took more than 15 years to evolve and it is just 9 year old so it will take 7-8 more years to evolve but for now it is just possible with so many limitations as time pass it will better than our today's internet medium
